Summary: Awful Ending
Review: Great book from start to almost finish. It was such an entertaining read with lots of twists but the ending ruined it. Made it all a waste of time. Grisham's books are usually a lot more satisfying.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Unstoppable
Review: It's the second Grisham's book I read and it seems to me that he is the best. Only a very clever mind can create a character like Patrick Lanigan, who is capable to scape with $ 90 milion and to plan every litle detail concerning the day he would be found, except one. Like "The Testament", this book is impossible to put down and is a very pleasent reading.

Summary: He always writes Great books!
Review: John Grisham's book The Partner. What can I say!...this book is great from cover to cover! Here's the long and short of the story..... 1. he stole 90 million dollars from his law firm's client 2. he faked his own death, and he got away with it for about 4 and a half years 3. he got caught by the client's private detective, who then had hostage 4. they tortured and almost kill him. His girlfriend, 'the female lawyer in brazil' wires out his money to different banks in the caribbean, that was his request if ever he was caputured. 5. he got rescued when his girlfriend called the FBI, telling them who it was exactly that had him 6. the FBI came down and got him, carrying him back to the US, but not to jail, he was taken to a hospital...after all, he was nearly killed

During this time he has no control of the money, his girlfriend has total control of it now, she's the only one who know were it's wired.

Politics plays a big part in this money thing also. That's partly how the client got the 90 million in the first place.

7. everyone wanted a piece of him. (a) His wife: he had left a two million dollar insurance policy for her and 'the child', which turned out not to be his, she spent the money lavishly and now that he wasn't really dead she would have to find the 2 million the insurance company had paid her for a husband that wasn't deceased!! (b) the client who he stole the money from: plain and simple. He wanted his Damn money back, and wanted Patrick tortured endlessly. (c) his partners: they wanted the money back also, and I doubt it if they would've mine abit, if Patrick had been killed or something (d) the FBI: they had to get him. He stole 90 million dollars! of course the FBI had to be involved. (e) his wife's lover, Lance: he had to kill him. how dare he decide to rise from the dead. After all it was Patrick's insurance policy that allowed him 'lance' to enjoy the finer things in life. 8. he hires an old lawyer friend of his to defend him 9. he has a great defense plan and therefore he never spends one day in prison 10. he gives every last penny of the $90 million and then-some back to the rightful owner. The tax payers and not the client. 11. he ends up with more money than he started out with. Yes you heard me right. He ended up with over 100 million dollars. That's due to not living large, and the interest that accumalated on the money while it was in the bank.

Now...the end....the ending wasn't a total suprise, but it did catch me alittle offguard.

I think I gave abit too much information...but never you mine...the book is packed with lots more that I missed out.

Read & Enjoy!!! I know I did.

Other great Grisham books to look out for: the rainmaker, the firm, the client, the chamber, the runaway jury, a time to kill, pelican brief, the testament, the street lawyer, the brethen and a painted house (latest novel)

now you have the list...so go read the books!

Summary: The best Grisham novel next to the Firm
Review: If Hannibal Lecter were a lawyer instead of a man-eating serial killer..he could be Patrick Lanigan. Patrick lives a mundane life working for a prosperous law firm. He spends years preparing for the moment to throw his plan into action and escape unscathed with 90 million dollars to Brazil. This book is a great all-nighter. It's like silence of the lambs meets "Jackie Brown" the movie. I highly recommend this Grisham's fans who are losing intersest in his past few books. If you like stories like the Shawshank Redemption (Stephen King) you'll love this one.

Summary: It ends with a WALLOP!
Review: The ending of this book was a huge surprise to me. I had a pretty emotional reaction to it. I enjoyed the book, though.

Summary: AWESOME!! My favorite by far!!
Review: This book was a total masterpiece!! In my opinion his best so far! A Time to Kill used to be my favorite until I read this one. I FLEW through it and at times I couldn't put it down! I am usually a slow reader, but this book kept my attention the entire time. It grabs you right from the beginning and throughout the entire book. The storyline is full of mystery and intrigue, and the ending is the BEST PART! A total plesure read that I guarantee you will enjoy!

Summary: Grisham's Best
Review: I consider this to be Grisham's best book. It has a snappy story line with a nicely complex plot, believable characters and a really good twisted ending (which I have to confess I had not anticipated).

This is one of those books which you pretty much end up reading at one sitting - you know the type, where you'll just read one more chapter before putting it down, and before you know it, you've finished.

A very enjoyable book, great for Mr Grisham's existing fans, and a good place to start for new ones.

If anyone in the Hollywood entertainment community with some clout is reading this, let's find out who optioned this book for a movie script and get it to the big screen!

Review: I have read several Grisham books but this one takes the cake! Unbelievable!! I read it from cover to cover!

It Is A Must Read!

Summary: Another twister at the end.
Review: I'm not a big John Grisham fan but I must admit, if I'm seeking something to read and am having trouble, I will wander over to the Grisham section. This book, in my opinion, was spellbinding from beginning to end. Then the end completely took me by surprise. Usually, I can see the endings coming but not this time. I've read about 10 of Mister Grisham's novels but this one really took me by surprise over and over again.
