Rating: Summary: A must read!! Review: John Grisham's 'The Runaway Jury' is a very captivating, well written novel. The plot of jury manipulation in a multimillion dollar suit against the tobacco industry kept me turning the pages. I travel a great deal and thoroughly enjoyed reading the novel on plane trips. Grisham manages to keep the interest level high throughout as the reader wonders what Nicholas and this Marlee character are up. Who are they really? What's their angle? Grisham does a great job of developing characters and creating subplots that make the overall plot all the more interesting. The ending was quite creative and leaves one thinking the justice system hasn't seen the last of Nicholas and Marlee (or whatever names they assume in the future) in future tobacco suits. I can't wait to read his next novel
Rating: Summary: I enjoyed this book a lot. Review: I have enjoyed all of John Grisham's books. I can hardly wait to read each new one as it comes out. The Runaway Jury was very informative and really kept my attention. I like the fact that Mr. Grisham is a real lawyer and knows
about the things that he writes about. The Runaway Jury is
about jury meddling by those who have a lot of money. The
plot was different than any I have read before. If you like his other books, you'll like this one.
Rating: Summary: Slow and predictable Review: This was my first Grisham book the others must be better. This book was based on a very timely issue (tabacco companies and jury problems)and I found some of the early parts of the book interesting, but then it went on and on and on and with the exception of one minor twist at the end it was obvious where it was going
Rating: Summary: John Grishom has done it again! Review: "Runaway Jury" rates very close behind Grishom's best book, "A Time to Kill".
The plot is a little involved, but Grishom displays his continuing ability to captivate his readers! The plot of the book was not what I expected...it is not a dull story about the cigarette industry; instead, the focus is on "jury tampering" and it is another of Grishom's "can't put it down books. Though a small part of the secenario is "far reaching", there is enough credibility to exercise one's mind about the current jury system in America. You won't be bored!
Rating: Summary: Another un-put-down-able Grisham thriller Review: After dissapointing many loyal fans with "The Chamber"
this latest offering once again confirms his well deserved
and widely publicised title of "the master storyteller".
No wonder he's raking in the big bucks!!! "The Runaway
Jury" provides a facinating, gripping account of a tobacco
trial and a lively jury who decide to bend the rules,
(some more so than others). As both sides struggle to
ensure a victorious outcome, the jury members endure many
surprising problems of there own. I won't spoil the ending
for you - you will probably know it anyway by about
halfway through the book. If you're prepared to suspend
reality and delve into the facinating and cynical mind of
John Grisham, then prepare yourself for a great read and a
few sleepless nights (until you finally finish the thing!).

Rating: Summary: One of Grisham's best efforts! Review: Grisham's best courtroom based work. The plot centers on
a very current and controversial subject, tobacco lawsuits.
The storyline focuses on the jury, lawyers, judge and a few
other related characters and keeps reader interest
throughout. There are no dull portions and the ending is
not predictable. Excellent reading!
Rating: Summary: Hes done it again Review: Grisham makes you turn pages like mad, just like the early Ludlums. You can always argue that this is not his best. But it is a very good and intelligent read. Well worth the money and time invested
Rating: Summary: Interesting read, slow start but excellent finish! Review: Grisham has once again shown his ability to create some
outstanding reading. Although the start left a little to be
desired, he quickly turned this book into an excellent compilation of creative literature. Grisham's obvious legal
intelligence allows him an insight so few authors possess.
Ranks right up there just below "A Time To Kill".
Rating: Summary: Grisham is a MasterCraftsman of Legal Plots Review: Grisham Does a good job of exposing the Tobacco Industry. The ending is however a little abrupt !! Seemed like he wanted to end the book in 401 pages!!!Venki Uddameri,Orono, Main
Rating: Summary: I this book was a real eye opener about our legal system. Review: I found this book to be one of John Grisham's best books.
It really puts emphasis on areas of the law and trials that we don't think about. It shows how high priced lawyers and jury consultants spend a lot of time to pick the "right " jury for
their side. The story kept me interested all the way throught he
book and i was disappointed went it ended. I thought it
was a good reminder for us that money does buy a good defense
with some good lawyers and how the tobacco industry can
take such a powerful position in a case
