Rating: Summary: AWFUL Review: I can usually find something good in every book I've read. Not so this book. This is a pitiful attempt to make a political statement disguised as fiction. Bad fiction at that
Rating: Summary: Grisham's most entertaining title yet. Review: Lighter reading than some of Grisham's other works. A major tobacco-industry suit is ongoing, with huge fortunes at stake. Nicholas Easter has managed to get on the jury on purpose. The pages fly by as you try to discern his secret agenda. Meanwhile, a second mysterious character taunts the lawyers on boths sides of the case. Lots of fun for smokers and non-smokers alike
Rating: Summary: Definately a Step Backwards Review: I've read all of Grisham's books and this was in the bottom three. It wasn't really that bad, it's just that Grisham can do a whole lot better. I enjoy the legal situations he creates, but this one just seemed to drag on and on. Grisham should stick to high-tension stories like Client, Pelican Brief, or even Firm, because I hate his "slow down" books such as this one and Chamber. Hopefully, he'll realize this and start writing better books
Rating: Summary: Magnificent, Excellent, Couldn't be better. Review: This book is great, once you start reading it, you can't put it down until you know the truth. This novel is better than his previous one "Chambers". If you haven't start to read it, GO AHEAD
Rating: Summary: Best Grisham yet Review: Don't pick this book up unless you are prepared not to put it down. Grisham teases you with suspense only revealing a little bit each chapter to the point you have to know the whole story. I suddenly find myself looking at other jury trials and thinking if the same thing is going on. I'm sure the tobacco companies aren't too impressed by this book. The gory details given about smoking really make you think as well
Rating: Summary: NOOOOT so gooood Review: grisham has been better
Rating: Summary: A satisfactory verdict if you're willing to wait. Review: You know those books where you're halfway through and you begin to hope that something really clever will happen to make the book really worthwhile? You know those books where you desparately want the bad guys to pay and pay dearly?
You know those books where you want the good guys to get the bad guys, but not by being too bad?
You know those books where you start reading in the evening and stop for breakfast?
You know those books that are just good fun reading without pretense?
The Runaway Jury.
Rating: Summary: Dull Review: A long, hard read. This book was easy to put down. I only hope as much effort was put into the writing of this book as
I put into the reading of it!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Little guys stick it to the system. Who wouldn't enjoy? Review: An ingenious victim & her man turn the tables on greedy cigarrette companies and their hired slime. Though the underdog-beats-bad-guys-at-own-game theme gets a little worn out, Grisham as usual makes it newly compelling. I stayed up all night to finish it. Mesmerizing
Rating: Summary: Predictable Review: Anyone can figure out what's going to happen in this book before they are half way through it. John Grisham is cranking his latest books out too quickly
