Summary: Wieder ein spannender Krimi

Summary: Best one of Grisham's yet!
Review: Definately my favorite so far. A great mixture of suspense and intrigue. It made me so damn mad at the tobacco industry that I quit smoking before finishing the book

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Boring, Predictable and one of Grisham's worst
Review: This is definitely one of Grishams worst books so far. Since "the firm", his books have become predictable: One/two clever guys against the establishment which has much money. They succeed, get all the millions they want and meet at some exotic refuge. The only notable exception has been "the Chamber". In this book, a hundred pages from the start you can guess what will happen, and hundred pages later you know you are right. It's an attack against the tobacco industry, clothed in the outfit of a thriller. That Easter and his Girlfriend succeed against all the bad guys who have so much money, that he can manipulate the jury as he likes to, is enough proof that Grisham has changed to the fantasy genre. I have to agree with some of the other reviewers that the bad guys, Rankin Fitch et al., are the only charakters which inspire the reader to finish the book. Grisham should take more time to write his books, he certainly has the talent. However, to buy "the runaway jury" is to throw away your money.

Summary: Do I feel like running?
Review: Although it was fun to see the antics of a sequestered jury, I would have liked to experience more of the "runaway." Grisham can keep me in suspense through legal battles, but I would have liked to see more of the characters running for their lives. Make Hoppy run, not just hop. Give Easter and Marlee a run for what they deserve. - Mr. Lem, BDHS English 12 Teacher

Summary: not good at all
Review: This is the worst Grishim book I have ever read. It's just one of those books where it is really hard to turn the page, because you know what's going to happen next, but I belive Grishim has written many "classics" like the firm, and the rainmaker. He just needs to throw this one out because it is so B-O-R-I-N-G!!!!!!!

Summary: A big disappointment
Review: In reading the previous reviews raving about how good this was, it's hard to believe we're talking about the same book. I have read all of Grisham's and feel the plot here was was trite, banal and predictable. Where was the page-turner impetus? I, too, feel he just pushed this one out too fast and only hope he will do better. We know he's an excellent and gifted writer

Summary: This book is one of the best
Review: Runaway jury is a fast-pased journey through the flaws in thejustice system. Grisham shows all of the ways defendants with moneycan buy justice from its peers in a seemingly unbiased jury. This story really makes you think about the justice system and how unfair it really is somethimes. This book is also a wake-up call for all of the smokers out there. You can not always beat the people with money. They will kill you for your business. This book is a suspence, and a real eye-opener. I would recomend it to any serious reader.

Summary: This book needed an editor who knows how to cut the drivel!!
Review: I wish that authors didn't think they would disappoint their readers if each new book isn't substantially longer than the last. Remember when Dick Francis books (the 150 page variety) were fun to read? This bloated story with no likeable characters was almost as tedious to read as it is to participate on a jury. However, I did read the whole book because I actually was interested in the basic plot and the final outcome, if even it was predictable

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: This Jury almost descends into mediocrity
Review: Although it has an interesting premise and a fairly effectivevillian in Rankin Fitch, the novel at times is as boring as the courtprocedurals it describes. The main characters, Nicholas Easter and his lady-friend of many names, don't have much of a personality outside of their planning and scheming, and their past is not dwelt upon in enough detail. In other words, it doesn't make you care for them. The novel goes to great lenghts explaining the hazards of tobacco smoking and the vile strategies the tobacco companies use to make more profits. Future smokers may be turned off after reading this novel, which is a good thing. Some of the best scenes in the novel are about Rankin Fitch and his manipulations upon some of the jurors. Still, the predictable ending and cardboard main characters left me in the end a bit dissapointed.

Summary: One of Grisham's best. I couldn't put it down.
Review: John Grisham turns out yet another great novel. Grisham takesa current issue and carefully manipulates it into a stunninglyinteresting piece. Backed by an intricate plot and sub-plots and by detailed and historied characters, it kept me up many a night striving to reach the end. But alas Grisham's longwindedness got the better of him. It seems that often times Grisham writes for the sake of writing and does not actually read some of the ridiculously unnecessary events he puts into print. This book is a must read for any Grisham fan. After being disappointed by John Grisham's The Chamber, my faith in this great author has been renewed.
