Summary: Grisham is one of the best, but this is not his best...
Review: Grisham is my favorite author. He does deliver, but this is not the book I would recommend as his best. The ending was predictable, and leading up to it was, well, slow and rather boring. I have high expectation of his writings, and it just lacked the "punch" that some of his other books (e.g. The Firm, The Partner, The Rainmaker) had.

Summary: John Grisham at his best
Review: John Grisham has certainly lived up to his reputation as the world's most popular author. The novel keeps the reader hooked till the end. Nicholus Easter becomes a very lovable character. The plot is very unpredictable.

Summary: NOT GRISHAM'S BEST BUT INTERESTING NONETHELESS
Review: The Runaway Jury is definitely interesting and fast paced. The idea of an attractive mid 20s couple tag teaming to defeat one of the most powerful entities of all time certainly makes this book appealing to the public. i'm a big Grisham fan, and I liked this book, but it falls short of the level of The Chamber and The Firm for several reasons. First of all, Nicholas and Marlee both suffer from the Mitch Mcdeere syndrom of just being too clever and too smart. At least Mitch made some mistakes in The Firm ( his fourth floor copies...) and Patrick Laningan and Darby Shaw are likewise imperfect. Nicholas and Marlee however, not only perform flawlessly, but they make the high powered tobacco employees look like idiots in the process. The ending is okay ( why is predictability necessarily a minus?), although Grisham's trademark anti- lawyer humor isn't quite as present as in some of his other books. Overall, it is a good book, but not one of Grisham's best. But you've just got to love any bad guy with a name like Rankin Fitch!

Summary: This one's a snoozer
Review: I couldn't stay awake long enough to finish the first 3 chapters.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: riveting reading
Review: It was my first time to read any of his books but I found it a good intro to his style of writing. I felt it could have ended maybe a chapter sooner, but a good book that at times kept me riveted and wanting to read on. Looking forward to reading more of his work

Summary: The Junaway Jury is Grisham's best book.
Review: Anyone who loves a John Grisham book will espcially like this one. It is a great book that starts out interesting and gets better as it goes along. The ending is my favorite. It has a better ending than any other book I have ever read. You will especially like this book if you hate tobbacco companies.

Summary: Who's deceiving who in this story? Just about everybody...
Review: A fast-paced and clever tale of deceipt, on every level. The tobacco companies are being sued, but - so far - have not lost a case. And they will do everything possible to keep it that way, be it bribery, jury tampering or murder. In the current trial, they just can't seem to put a finger on one particular juror. He appears to be a nobody, but his past doesn't quite add up. And his knowledge of court proceedings and the law in general is becoming uncomfortably apparent. Who's deceiving who in this story? Well, just about everybody. But who's really got the upper hand of the situation? Well, just keep reading! All of this makes for a great page-turner, even if the ending becomes somewhat predictable. Strongly recommended.

Summary: LOVED IT! Ingenious insight to realities of our legal system
Review: Grisham's writing reflects a through understanding of our legal system and I commend him for taking on one of the toughest moral and legal issues plaguing our society today, smoking. The plot and characters are interwoven with such intrigue that I couldn't wait to read how it would all turn out. Looking forward to reading more of his books in the future!!!!

Summary: compelling story but predictable ending
Review: A great, albeit implausible premise. Grisham paced the story well and threw in the plot twists he has become famous for. The only disappointment for me is that the book ends in the same fashion as some of his other books. I don't want to specify what I mean because I will give away the ending but I wish his endings had more substance to them.
