Rating: Summary: Ceaseless minipulation of stupid people tortures the reader Review: Not one character is likeable or attractive. No suspense builds. A lying creep manipulates unsuspecting, unbelievably gullible dupes through a tedious maze of petty contortions, and the only girl in the book is an obsessed vengeful heiress devoid charm, passion or a glimmer of grace. The reader has no one to cheer for and this book has nothing, nothing, interesting in it. Someone told me the ending was great and I kept going, waiting, waiting for a flash of intrique. There is none.
Rating: Summary: The best Grisham has written yet Review: out of the books I have read by Grisham, this is the best. He artfully took a subject like tobacco companies and turned it into a plot worth reading. The ending was such a surprise!
Rating: Summary: An explosive tobacco trial leads to illegal tampering. Review: The Runaway Jury, exposes Grisham at his finest! A mezmorizing novel about an explosive tobacco trial of the 90's, and a greedy lawyer willing to do anything to get the verdect he want's, even if it means illegal tampering. A suspicious Judge sequesters the Jury after much debate, and to his dismay the leader of the jury find's himself alone much of the time, with nothing to do but think about the trial at hand and the millions that he will make if he delivers the verdect the pro- bono lawyer wishes for.
Rating: Summary: Compelling and vengeful with the best ending ever Review: John Grisham's book has a twisted and complicated plot like all of his books, but none of them are captivated by such revenge as this one is. No other Grisham novel has such surprise. Definitely read this book, especially if you have never read John Grisham!
Rating: Summary: Tobacco companies make sure evry generation is hook ! Review: 12 ordinary residents were picked as jury to a civil lawsuits filed against the Tobacco Industry . However 1 of the 12 has placed himself onto the panel of jury . He is simple known as Juror#2 . With the help of a beautiful colleague outside the court , Juror#2 was on his way to topple the multi-million dollar Tobacco empire , re-writing Judicial history and putting the legal system fighting for its own life . John Grisham has once again expertly mixed hard facts with pure fictions ! A damn good read , so Read It !
Rating: Summary: A different perspective, from the usual Grisham's court room Review: In reality, nobody will experience life style like the ones in JG's book. However, after reading a couple of Lawyer stories from JG, this one is a change of perspective that's worth praising. In most part, the Jurys are actually a very significant part of a trail. This book portrys that in a dramatic style that's worth reading. 12 people can make a world of difference somtimes; read it and find out. Remember to register to vote !
Rating: Summary: Could some of the five star reviews be from Grisham himself? Review: I tried reading this book last Summer. It's one of the few books I started but never finished. I agree with most of the one and two star reviews. This book's defining characteristic is IMPLAUSABLE. A book about an expedition to the moon in search of green cheese would have been as believeable. Throw in a heroin trying to stop them because green cheese is fattening and addictive -- Wow! What could be better? Not this Grisham novel.

Rating: Summary: Captivating! Review: This was the first of Grisham's books that I have read. When I first began reading it, I didn't like it. But, as I read on the book became so captivating that I couldn't put it down. Runaway Jury kept me on the edge of my seat...without a gory murder plot!! It's nice to know that someone can write a tale so captivating without using disgusting images of murder.
Rating: Summary: Worth Reading! Review: I really enjoyed how the "juror" and his "friend" constantly messed with the Judge and the defendant's attorneys. The ending was very interesting and surprising. Of Grisham's books, my favorite is still the Firm.
