Rating: Summary: Not Mr. Grisham's best work. Review: The plot was slow-moving and thoroughly uninteresting. The characters were not well developed. Although the author tried to give us insight into each and every juror's psyche, I couldn't tell what made them tick. I also found it hard to keep track of these people in my mind as I read: 12 jurors, 3 extras, countless lawyers on each side and even more outside parties working undercover for the lawyers. The best aspect of the novel was the thorough and elaborate description of the effects of smoking and tobacco companies themselves. The book was a fast read, but certainly not a page-turner.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining Review: This was one of Grisham's better books. It was slightly unrealistic, but that is what made it entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed it--except for one inaccurate part: The Waffle House does NOT serve pancakes, did anyone else notice that? I had given up on Grisham after a disappointing last read, but this one redeemed his writing in my eyes.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: This was a classic book written with a great plot. I would recommend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: A great Grisham Review: While I was on vacation in New York, I started reading a book that my dad had. It was The Partner. I was officially hooked on John Grisham after that. I read a lot of his other books. The Runaway Jury is one of my favorites. Quick paced, it has all the elements of a Grisham novel. If you are a fan or not you HAVE to read this
Rating: Summary: CAN'T SEEM TO GET STARTED Review: I PUT THIS BOOK DOWN AND I CAN'T PICK IT BACK UP. UNLIKE THE FIRM,PELICAN BRIEF, THE CLIENT THIS BOOK DID NOTHING FOR ME EXCEPT RUIN THE LAST TWO DAYS OF MY VACATION. THE TWO STARS ARE FOR JOHN GRISHAM HIMSELF....GOOD EFFORT AT LEAST. BRING IN ANOTHER FIRM
Rating: Summary: An enjoyable book, although not his best work. Review: This book is definetely not one of Grisham's better works. It is still enjoyable, but not up to par with his other books. I found the plot to be a bit thin, and the telling of the tale simply skipped over too many facts to remain believeable. For your money you'd be better off buying one of his other books.
Rating: Summary: thrilling Review: It is a ravishing book but it doesnt have you like the chamber and some of his others.
Rating: Summary: Very, Very Good Review: The Runaway Jury was a great book. The plot was great and the debate on tobacoo was interesting and brought up some good points. It lost a star because 1)It got slow in a few places 2) The ending was a little unrealistic. I also recommed The Rainmaker, with is even better.
Rating: Summary: Runaway author crys all way to the bank! Review: Loved the story.Having been on two juries none were as interesting as that portrayed in this story.I loved that the main protagonists managed to sock it to the big Multi-national Corporations where it hurts and make a few bucks in the process.Grisham is often criticized for his 'cookie cutter' story telling approach, and the man might even agree and cry all the way to the bank. But this is precisely why I and probably millions of others read his books.Theyre easy to read and you dont have to use too many neurons especially when soaking up the sun on a beach in Tahiti or Mykonos or Maraetai.I also recommend 'The Partner' to other lazy bibliophiles out there. Grishamites unite!!!
Rating: Summary: Unique insights Review: An amazing amount of detail and the perfect amount of suspense blended for the reader in a potent combination
