Rating: Summary: THE POWER HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED !! Review: Great book by this author. In the tradition of Clancy this political thriller in my estimation rates right up there with the very best. Action-packed from cover to cover this is a stay-up-all-nighter if there ever was. Having already read 'Term Limits' and now this, I am looking forward to his current offering. Do yourself a favor and pick up this winner you won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Powerful Book Review: Vince Flynn comes running out of the gate with this political drama. The book starts right away with the president sitting in the very detailed and secretive "situation room." Immedeatly you could tell this book will be good. Then the pace quickens with the tenacity of a thourobred as terrorists pop out left and right and the president becomes a hostage. Vince Flynn includes so much detail in both the characters description as well as the White House itself that it feel as though you are being held hostage with the president. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if this book became a hit movie.
Rating: Summary: Just fantastic. Review: This held me from start to finish! It seems all to possible, that terrorists could actually break into the White House! (Dubya, you should read this; I may send you my copy.) I jusat picked up "Term Limits" and am starting that now. Vince Flynn is great!
Rating: Summary: Transfer of Power Review: MAN - This book took me on a ride from begining to end. I loved it. I am now a Vince Flynn fan. MITCH RAPP is the best. I hope Flynn continues to develop Mitch just like Patterson has done with Alex Cross. IT IS A MUST READ... also read the first book Term Limits this guys research and attention to detail is great but not too much.
Rating: Summary: Great Action and Suspense Review: Transfer of Power was a book I could not set down and couldn't forget after I read it. After reading Flynn's book, The Third Option, I found this book and couldn't put it down. Not only is it well written, keeps the story moving, it seems to be technically correct in all the different aspects of the story. But it is so believeable you could picture it happening in real life. I recommend it highly and can't wait to read Term Limits.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: A page turner from the first word! If you like Grisham and Clancy, you'll love Vince Flynn! Politically thrilling like Clancy, but less cumbersome technically. Like Grisham, no foul language. As Grisham has said, if your story line is good, there's no need for foul language.
Rating: Summary: One of the best... Review: I thought that "State of Seige" from the Op Center series was one of the best, most nalibitingest (that's not a word, yeah, yeah) books I'd read until I read "Transfer of Power." What an amazing book, the first I'd read of Vince Flynn. And lemme tell ya, the guy is good. Not just "Transfer of Power," but his other three books as well..AND they all go together as a very good series. I'd like to recommend this book to anyone who has read a lot of Tom Clancy books and hoped for more action. This is it, and it doesn't lose one bit of the politics and mystery that it needs to succeed as a book that takes place in Washington D.-of-C. Read this book. You know you want to.
Rating: Summary: 549 pages of excitement Review: Flynn's ability to guide the reader through the story is masterful. He has you riding piggyback with Mitch Rapp (the main character) such that the reader feels as though he/she is in the middle of action. Fasten your seat belt and keep your arms and legs inside at all times...this story will take you for a wild ride into the life of a counter-terrorist specialist as he risks his life on a rescue/recon mission with impossible odds.
Rating: Summary: Vince Flynn is the next STAR! Review: 'Transfer of Power' is summed up in one word: EXEMPLARY!This story tells about a group of terrorists taking hostage the White House, and the government and an 'unofficial' CIA agent infiltrates the White House. What happens --- well, you will just have to find out! Notice to people : Contains profanity, and speaks about nudity...and rape. These are not the central issues, these are issues that come into play. This is a huge thriller, and I couldn't put it down. Every day at school, I strained for class to end to attack that book. It's a must read, no doubt about it!
Rating: Summary: Think Die Hard in the White House, with a vengence Review: After reading Term Limits by Mr. Flynn, I immediately started on Transfer of Power. To say I was pleased with this novel would be an understatement. While I do draw certain paralells to the first Die Hard movie, this book does diverge on many points. We are treated to yet another look into the minds of politicians who once again are rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic, a recurring theme with Mr. Flynn. Unfortunately this seems to be an altogether realistic view of certain politicians. We also see the inner workings and motivations of the special units that go a long way towards protecting the citizens of this country. There are numerous technical items that are very believeable. The use of remoted cameras, scrambled radios, and others are but to name a few. The weapons are realistic, the tactics and their inherent risks and advantages are likewise on the mark. There are even areas where our heroes make mistakes, and they rise above it, showing that they are human, and not some kind of James Bond superspy. This is another keeper, and I have already ordered the next novel that Mr. Flynn has written. If he keeps this up, certain well known authors of technothrillers will have to move over and make room for the new big dog on the block. Go out, buy this book and enjoy. I know you will.
