Summary: This book makes you go "Yeah" when the bad guys buy the farm
Review: As riveting as Tom Clancey, but much less time consuming and confusing, as though the editor took a Clancey novel and cut out all the fat. The characters are believable and the reader holds the proper sentiment--you like the good guys and hate the bad guys. The first chapter of Transfer of Power was adroitly inserted at the end of Flynn's first novel, Term Limits. I read the chapter and bought the new book immediately. Both are good reads.

Summary: Excellent Book
Review: I don't know what the "official" critics have against Mr. Flynn. The only thing I can think of is they are not reading the same books I am. I will admit that there are flaws within the book. But I would challenge those critics to try to fill almost 400 pages without having some flaws in your work.

I read Flynn's first book Term Limits just a few days ago. After reading it, I immediately went out and bought Transfer of Power. I found Transfer of Power to be just as entertaining as Flynn's first novel. In my opinion, both books have been well researched. The operations of the military's special forces units and also domestic law enforcement seem extremely realistic. I believe this is evidence that Flynn has really put time into researching the operations of these groups.

The characters in this book are all interesting and realistic. Just like his first book, the good v. evil plot makes the pages just fly by. The only criticism I have of the book is that the ending came a little fast. Other than that, it was an excellent book and I can not wait for Flynn's next book to hit the shelves.

Critics, open your eyes. Flynn is the real deal. I'm aware that you get paid to criticize the work of other people, but you need to find someone else to pick on. Flynn is not your man.

Summary: An incredible page turner on par with Term Limits
Review: I bought this book at a store while driving through North Carolina. It was my travel companion on several flights and for a couple of weeks I never left home without it. Vince Flynn has managed to load this book with research and suspense that makes you wonder - is this for real? I can't wait till his next techno-thriller hits the shelves.

Summary: Awesome!
Review: I couldn't put this book down. I read Term Limits and immediately upon finishing that ordered this book. I am anxiously awaiting something new from Flynn. The details and characters are sublime! Fynn's style sucks you in from the very first page.

Summary: Great thriller!
Review: Mr. Flynn, is an exciting author his two books show exceptional talent. Unfortunatly his portrayal of Washington DC is all too easy to accept.

Summary: An Essential Book In Any Military Techno-thriller Library
Review: Superb is the only word that can describe Transfer of Power. The plot is clearly presented and extremely realistic. With all the campaign contributions from suspicious sources floating around, it's no surprise that the idea of a terrorist taking over the White House from the inside is plausible. The action is excellent and easy to follow. Transfer of Power also contains some of the most organized dialogue I have ever read. While not written in the first person, the views of the major characters are presented, and their actions go hand in hand with what they think.

There is only one critical flaw: The Ending. It seems short and rushed, but I understand how hard it is to write an ending to a novel like this.

As an endnote: Many of the characters are taken from his first book, Term Limits. However, Transfer of Power should not be considered a sequel, as the events of Term Limits are not mentioned.

Summary: A great book that would make a great movie!!
Review: Vince Flynn's biography on the book jacket is so boring, it must be incomplete. He writes like a person who has been a Navy Seal...a CIA Agent...and much more. Transfer of Power is about a terrorist group taking over the White House, and to this reader it is both exciting and credible. Flynn's characters come alive off the page, and get you involved and caring about them. His first book, Term Limits, was outstanding. As one would expect with most new authors, his second, Transfer of Power, should have been a letdown. But it was even better. Sign me up for every book he writes!!

Summary: one of the best action - political thrillers in years
Review: This has got to be one of the best books I've read in many years in the political action thriller arena. Mr. Clancy definitely has to make room on this bench for Mr. Flynn. He had to do some research into the in's and out's of law enforcement, military operation and the politic's of this nation and especially of Washington D.C. and has done that superbly. Action at it's best and action always, can't wait for the next book I have my money ready!

Summary: Top of the Heap!!
Review: I was very impressed after reading Vince Flynn's first novel "Term Limits". I immediately purchased and read "Transfer of Power" when it became available. This one even surpassed the first novel in everything you like to read in this type of story. Hard to put down and go to sleep, you want to keep reading all night if necessary. Action is outstanding, relevant to the times and believable. The characters cover the whole scope of the good, the bad and the ugly and each one is done in magnificent style. His understanding of and the use of various types of military/civilian special ops units is excellent, coupled with the many times they are handcuffed by politics and behind the scenes manuevering of those in power, who are more worried about their press reviews than the final outcome of the crisis, makes for reading you feel a part of. Vince Flynn has rapidly gone to the top of my list of authors for whom I eagerly await the next book to be published. I hope that there are many more to come, and soon!!

Summary: Even better than 'Term Limits' and hard to put down
Review: I thought Transfer of Power was a well done novel. The action was great and the insider material was excellent. I was surprised to find several typos including the wrong spelling of Fort Meade. Of a critical nature I was puzzled by how a terrorist like Aziz could plan for so many contingencies and yet have so little interior surveillance allowing an intruder to operate undetected. I also wondered why Aziz seemed to completely forget about a female hostage now loose in the mansion. Agreeing with one of the other reviews I too thought the ending came up rather quickly based on the tremedous build up. I'm sure in the movie it will take up a larger part of the action. I anxiously look forward to his next novel.
