Rating: Summary: ARUBA READABLE Review: OF THE 30-40 BOOKS A YEAR I READ, THERE ARE A SELECT FEW THAT I WILL PERIODICALLY RE-READ. PILLERS IS ONE OF THOSE. WHILE PACKING FOR A 10 DAY VACATION TO ARUBA, WITH MY GIRLFRIEND HAVING PURCHASED A VERY THIN BIKINI-RED, I STILL PICKED FOLLETTS BEST TO BRING ALONG, AND FINISHED IT WHILE ON THE BEACH! HIS STYLE AND STUDY TRULY COMES OUT IN PILLERS OF THE EARTH
Rating: Summary: Outstanding! Review: It's the best book I will ever read!
I love it
I wish it never ended..
Thank You Follet for giving the world such
a great book to read
I enjoed every secound with it ...
Rating: Summary: Wish it was longer....1000 pages is not enough!! Review: Without doubt, one of the best Historical Fiction books I have ever read. I was very disappointed when I was finished and quickly turned back to the beginning and started to read it again. This should be made into a mini-series or even a feature film. EXCELLENT
Rating: Summary: FOLLET'S MASTERPIECE Review: "Pillars of the Earth" is undoubtedly Ken Follet's masterpiece. Utilizing 12th century medieval England as a backdrop, Follet weaves an engrossing tale heavy-laden with passionate romance, suspenseful intrigue, and unexpected plot twists
Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: Absolutely the best book I have ever read!! Fascinating details about life in 12th century England intertwined in an epic saga of love, life, deceit, hardship, faith and loyalty. Corruption and hypocrisy in the church is rampant, with powerful men buying their "salvation" by bribing the clergy with favors, etc. Excellent!! Definitely Follett's best book by far
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! I fell in love with it! Review: I always love reading a series of historical adventures
just like this book. It is a start of your another journey
followed a great scale and various characters and excithing
adventures. Please take a rest while you are into it over numerous nights!!!
Rating: Summary: History, Adventure, and Intrigue! Review: I loved this book from start to finish. There are a lot of pages in this book, but I wouldn't call it long (it was too good). This is the second best book I have ever read (Kane and Able can't be beat). Read it soon
Rating: Summary: What can be better than history with sex and suspense? Review: Ken Follett, known as a master of the spy genre, outdoes himself in this historical suspense novel of 12th Century England. While we learn about the amazing "technological prowess" that enables man to soar to the skies, we are introduced to wonderfully passionate characters who endure cliffhanger after cliffhanger. The book is lengthy, seeming to contain half a dozen of Follett's usual wonderful reads all in one volume
Rating: Summary: Excellent story, interesting insight into life in the 12th c Review: I agree with what has pretty much been said in the other reviews. After reading the book, I looked up the era in history in Paul Johnson's "The Offshore Islanders" and Winston Churchill's "History of the English People". This little bit of research would have been well worth having before starting the book.
Anyhow, it is clear that Follett has done his research very well
Rating: Summary: My favorite Follett. Review: Have read all Follett books and this is my clear favorite.
