Rating: Summary: "Strange Whispers, from the Dead" Review: 1. Sarah Darnell is a thirteen-year-old girl who used to live in Texas. When she was living there, she almost drowned in a lake nearby her house. Ever since the incident, she had been hearing whispers in her house. She later finds out that the whispers are coming from a ghost that had been following her around ever since her incident. Years later, she moves to a new state, and the ghost moves with her. Soon after she moves, she hears whispers again, only they're in Spanish. She believes that this ghost could bring her great danger... 2.I liked this book because it was exciting and it kept you guessing until the end. 3.This book is kind of related to "A Murder in the Doll House" because they both have ghosts following people around in both stories.
Rating: Summary: Whispers from the Dead Review: A couple months back, Sarah had drowned in a lake and had nearly died. Now, she finds out that she can talk to spirits because her therapist said that when someone dies, they get sucked into the spirit world, and because Sarah almost died she was halfway through the portal and now she can talk to spirits. Later on, Sarah and her family decide to move. They get a big house for a low price, but they didn't know that there was a murder that occurred in that house about 2 years ago. They suspected that the murderer was Adam Holt but they didn't have any evidence. Sarah starts hearing these cries for help in Spanish by a woman named Rosa. Apparently, she was the one who was murdered two years ago. One day, Sarah meets a guy named Tony. She falls in love with him. Then, one day, Tony takes Sarah to the lake and tries to drown her but someone stopped him. A few days later, Sarah goes to the detective's office to look at some pictures of Adam Holt, the guy who murdered Rosa. It turns out that Tony was disguised as Adam Holt. The police arrests Tony and throw him in jail. I chose this book because I really like scary mystery books. The title sounded scary so I decided to read it. I also picked this book because my friend read it and she said that it was really good. I read other people's reviews on this book and they all said that it was good so I decided to read it. I really enjoyed this book. I liked how it was scary and mystifying at the same time. My favorite part was when Sarah found out that Tony was really Adam Holt in disguise. When she was looking at the photos in the detective's office, she saw a purple birthmark on Adam's wrist. She remembered that Tony had the exact same birthmark on his wrist. She colored in Adam's light colored hair and drew in a mustache and then she knew that Tony was really Adam Holt.

Rating: Summary: A great and exciting book! Review: After an accident that nearly caused her to drown, Sarah Darnell has always felt as if there was an unknown spirit that followed her wherever she went. Sarah expected for the eerie spirit to stop following her after her dad's transfer, which caused the family to move from Missouri to Houston. However, once she steps inside her new house, a cry for help can be heard in Spanish. As what was told to her by therapists, these spirits of hers can only be from her imagination after her near death experience. Yet, these images that are sent to her along with the cries are definitely real, and as she helps the young spirit, she is also able to solve the mystery that lies within it. I found this book to be a definite page-turner because it keeps the reader alert with new surprises on every page. Not to mention that the mystery wasn't at all dragging and the plot was right to the point with Sarah's problems and visions. In addition to the simplicity of the book, I also found the book easy to understand. Nevertheless, I think that others with find this book exciting, as well as captivating to read. There are several intense moments in this story, especially the parts when the spirit tries her best to reach Sarah, or when the spirit cries sadly for help. The author pens in great description, great enough that it allows the reader to imagine every detail...
Rating: Summary: best book Review: I am a big fan of Joan Lowery Nixon's novels and this is by far the best one by her I have ever read. It was has the classic Nixon writing style suspense, mystery, murder. I recommend that you read this book you won't regret it.
Rating: Summary: Kept me going from beginning to end Review: I liked this book very much and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to read an exciting mystery. The book always keeps the reader guessing. I didn't figure out who was the murderer was until nearly the end of the story. The visions that the heroine kept having were very strange and it was interesting seeing her slowly make the connections between her visions and figuring out who was the murderer. It was a lot of fun to read this book and I think you will enjoy it as much as I did.
