Summary: Once again disappointed
Review: I have been a huge Sandra Brown fan over the years but have been greatly disappointed by her last couple of books. I remember when I could not put one of her books down but with The Standoff and The Switch I had to struggle to finish the book. Where is the Sandra Brown of old?

Summary: Predictable
Review: I've only read two of Sandra Brown's books (the other being Standoff) and I thought this one was pretty bad. I never saw what everyone else thought was so bad about Standoff; I thought it was pretty good. This one was just plain stupid. It starts off good, building the characters and the plot quite well. But then, about halfway through, it changes form from clever thriller to stupid soap opera. Personally, I saw the ending coming from the beginning, but that's not to say everyone will. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this book! If you're dying to read it, rent it at the library. You'll be glad you did!

Summary: Great page-turner
Review: "The Switch" is, at first glance, your typical identical-twins-switching-places thriller -- who is really who? -- but the author develops the secondary characters so strongly that a whole new dimension of interest is added to story. The twins at the tale's heart, Melina and Gillian, are probably the LEAST developed of the characters, and that may be because the descriptions used to distinguish them are either purely physical (we're told multiple times that they're EXACTLY alike) or very obvious (e.g., we're told that one is circumspect while the other is outspoken, one's a leader and the other's a follower, etc.). Even with the lack of distinguishing characters in the twins, the strength of the other characters ably carries the weight of the plot.

Some have complained that the book is too long. On the contrary, I raced through this book in no time, and kept wondering as the pages remaining dwindled how the author could possibly wrap this up in time. Well, wrap it up she did, and my ONLY complaint about the book would be that the strings are tied up too neatly, too quickly. Perhaps the author, too, felt the book was running long, and tried to pack too much punch into the last few pages, rather than drawing out the finale. Consequently the reader may feel a bit cheated out of a satisfying ending.

Overall this was a very exciting, "un-put-downable" book.

Summary: Interesting Read:
Review: I enjoyed THE SWITCH, but was disappointed in the use of 4-letter words. It seemed to be more so in this book than any of her others I've read. I believe the best books she has written were Mirror Image (which would make an excellent movie for TV) and Breath of Scandal.

Summary: Vintage Sandra Brown keeps you guessing 'til the end.
Review: Finally Sandra Brown has returned to her surprise twists and fun to read books. Its been a while since I've enjoyed Sandra Brown as much. The Switch is a quick and enjoyable read. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: Good but not quite good enough
Review: I must say that although this was a good read, It was not up to par of what I have come to expect from Sandra Brown. I have been an avid reader of SB books for years now and her books are the ones I eagerly look forward too. This book was no exception. However once I read it, I was quite disappointed. It lacked her usual flair for romance and she failed to capture the depth of her characters. The plot was not as suspenseful as her other books either. It was a passable read but I hope she returns with a book the packs a little more punch.

Summary: Page Turner
Review: Once you get involved with this story you can't put the book down. It kept your interest to the end. I love books about twins and would recomemed her other book about twins "Mirror Image".

Summary: very good!
Review: I mildly enjoyed the switch, I felt that it was a little slower paced then some of sandra browns earlier material but that did not take away from the twist and turns in this suspenseful novel. Gillian and melina Lloyd are identical twins who decide to switch places for the evening with deadly results. gillian agrees to escort national hero Christopher "chief" hart in place of melina and finds herself attracted to him. After a night of passion gillian is found brutally murdered and all signs point to Chief. Chief and melina decide to band together and uncover the truth behind the murder. I enjoyed this book , it felt a bit drawn out but I can honestly say i could not put it down. \

Summary: How can you say not her best?!
Review: Wow! How can people say this is not one of her best novels to date. It has great romance, high intrigue, and humor. What more can you ask for. The only thing that bothered me a bit was the initial attraction between Chief and Melina, but I overcame that once the sparks started flying. Could not put it down! And the ending, WOW again! Keep up the good work!

Summary: Best switch I've ever read
Review: This story had the best twin-switch story line I've ever read. There has never been a story line this good before! For a while I thought Sandra had lost her charisma because I was very disappointed with "The Standoff" and "The Alibi" but The Switch is one of the best mysteries I've read in a long time. I work in a library and I reccomend it to all the patrons who like a good mystery. I've also caled my family members and told them that this is a must read. Keep up the good work Sandra I've missed you.
