Rating: Summary: Very Exciting read by Sandra Brown Review: I first fell in love with Ms. Brown when I read WITNESS and THE SWITCH did not disappoint me. I was concerned with the turn her books were taking when I read UNSPEAKABLE (very dark, very gory in detail). But I am very happy to find that she hasn't gone too far off her original mark with THE SWITCH. The characters were believable and the reader could easily sympathize with them. The dialogue is top-notch! She kept me guessing almost to the end who the 'real' Gillian was. THE SWITCH is full of quite a few surprises. If you are a fan of Ms. Brown's previous thrillers, you will not be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: better than Danielle Steel Review: this is a great romance. ive read several Danielle Steel novels, but none of them were as good as this one. i never wnated it to end. i just kept turning the pages, and was only disappointed when there were no more pages to turn.
Rating: Summary: Fun and Spicy! Review: Sandra Brown has long been one of the best romantic suspense writers going. In this book, she continues her string of hits. While I agree the book could have been edited down some and drags a "wee" bit in the middle, it was a fun read. The hero is gorgeous and sexy, the heroine lovely and out to get revenge. Bad guys who are very bad. What more can U want? Overall a fun read for romantic suspense fans.
Rating: Summary: Suspenseful Review: I have been a big fan of Sandra Brown for years and I have read most of her books. If you like her recent books best--if you thought "Unspeakable" was one of her best then you will like "Switched". The romantic tension between the main characters was very good. The story line was definitely suspenseful, full of twists and turns. Although I was able to figure out one of the surprises early on, I still couldn't put this book down. Really a four and one half star book and a must read.
Rating: Summary: Exciting and Suspenseful!!!! A Thrilling Read!!! Review: This was Sandra Brown at her best. I could not put this novel down for two seconds. It was a page turner right up until the very end!!! I have read every thing that Sandra Brown has ever written and this novel was a masterpiece. But don't take my word for it, read it yourself!!!!
Rating: Summary: Satisfying Review: Sandra Brown is known as the master of romance. She more than adequately proves that in her captivating novels. In this one, however, she displays her talents in crime and mystery writing as well. Combined with her fierce portrayal of love, Sandra has produced yet another hit. This elusive thriler contains twists and turns that keep the reader anxiously anticipating the conclusion...One twin's dedication to the other results in a satisfying revenge and a new love with so much meaning.
Rating: Summary: Not Her Best! Review: I have been a Sandra Brown fan from day one. Her romance novels have been some of the best I have ever read. Her early mainstream novels are better than her recent ones. If you read the inside flaps on the dust cover of "The Switch", you will basically know the story and the author does not stray far from the review. "The Switch" was a fair read but could have been so much better. For starters this book was too long! (469 pages) This story could have been told with 100 less pages. There were few characters and the information relayed between them at times became repetitive. I did not find any surprises. The murderers are revealed at the time of the murders and the reader is aware of the diabolical plot and just tags along for the ride. By the time you are halfway through the book you should be able to figure out Melina's "dark secret". I questioned it at the very beginning. And spicy sex scenes? Ms. Brown just does not write them like she once did. In short I found this book to be an OK read although predictable and a bit long. If you want to read one of her better novels try Charade or Exclusive. The Switch seemed to have so much potential but did not deliver for me.
Rating: Summary: Not one of her best... Review: I've read nearly all of Sandra Browns books and have always enjoyed them. Great writing, well-paced plots, great romance and wonderful characters. So I was very disappointed in Ms. Brown's latest offering: The beginning was very clunky, the characters were flat and -- unlike Brown's previous novels -- their personal histories and the interactions between them were very poorly developed. There really was no mystery to the plot at any point, making this poorly written tale rather tedious to read. Was this realllllly the Sandra Brown whose stories I have loved so much?
Rating: Summary: A Gripping Tale Review: Identical twins Gillian and Melina Lloyd used to switch places all the time, as children, because no one could ever tell them apart. As the story opens over lunch Gillian tells Melina that she has undergone an artificial insemination that morning after having thought about it for some time. Gillian has a boyfriend, Jem Hemmings, who is no gem. Melina suggests they switch places and that Gillian take on Melina's assignment as media escort to Colonel Christopher (Chief) Hart a NASA astronaut that evening. Christopher Hart is not only an astronaut and national hero, he is also half American Indian. Gillian turns Melina's offer down saying she wants to go home and get some rest. The next morning Melina is awakened by police who have come to tell her that her sister Gillian has been murdered. The killer has written on the walls with blood and what was written implicates Native American's and so Chief and Melina are thrown together to try to discover the motive for Gillian's murder. This story is riveting and unpredictable! The ending is a complete surprise that only in the last few pages does the reader begin to get an inkling of what is going on. Fantastic read. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Read Review: The story was great, I loved the good-guys and hated the bad. When twins, Gillian and Melina Lloyd decide to switch places for the night, Gillian escorts Christopher Hart to a award banquet. After the banquet Christopher AKA Chief, and Gillian, whom Chief believes is Melina, spend some time together getting to know each other. The next morning Gillian is found brutally murdered, leaving her twin Melina to revenge her sisters death. All in all this was a great story. The plot was great, scary - but concivable. The only reason I didn't give this book five stars was because the ending was predictable, not that it at all made the story bad or took away from the story. I would have given this novel four and a half stars if i could. Another great novel by Sandra Brown! Definitely a must read.
