Summary: Not Romance-----Suspense, Horror and Gore.
Review: This is not a romance novel as much as it's a suspence horror novel---where gore prevails versus romance. These vampires are not well developed characters. For a true vampire romance read Maggie Shayne, Linda Lael Miller and Christine Feehan---these are the true masters of vampire romance, not Ms. Drake.

Summary: Great Vampire story
Review: This is the story of Maggie Montgomery. She became a vampire before the Civil War. Shielded by her father, who believed that she wasn't damned, she runs a boutique and works as a dress designer in her home city of New Orleans. An evil vampire from her past is murdering prostitutes in the city very much like Jack the Ripper. A handsome descendant of a long dead love will help her try to catch and kill the killer.

This was an excellent murder mystery type of vampire novel. The characters were very vivid and realistic and the villian very evil. This is becoming one of my favorite series.

Summary: RIVETING. ENGROSSING. SEDUCTIVE.
Review: WOW! That's my first impression in the beginning of the novel. It was full of surprises from cover-to-cover. I love this author as Shannon Drake and Heather Graham. I was a bit hesitant to buy this book at first. I used to be strictly a historical romance lover. But I am so glad that i did buy it. I can't wait for Lucian's story. He was a fascinating character. Maggie was so likable and realistic even in her fury. Ms. Drake is so descriptive in her books that one can almost see the scenes on the T.V. screen before you. You are a true master at your craft Ms. Drake
