Summary: The best of the Elizabeth Lowell Series
Review: This is my favorite book of all time. This book has a great plot, and I have learned a lot about jade while reading it. But my favorite part is still the love story. I suggest to anyone who likes this genre of books to read this one, also read the others in the series(Amber Beach, Pearl Cove, and Ruby Bayou.)

Summary: Another Donavan thriller!
Review: "Jade Island" by Elizabeth Lowell, is the second book in Donavan family trilogy. The focus this time is Kyle, the reckless one of the Donavan bunch. Kyle is asked by his family to "seduce" lovely jade expert Lianne Blakely to see if she is connected to the disappearance of some expensive Chinese treasures. The treasures in question are a jade suit and some jade items from the Tang family vault. Lianne is the obvious choice for learning where the pieces are because of her connection to the Tang family.

Lianne is the illegitimate daughter of Johnny Tang and although she has never been acknowledged as part of the family, her expertise and knowledge of jade allows her to work closely with the family and with the pieces themselves. When pieces of the family's personal collection start disappearing, Lianne is the prime suspect of not only the Tang family and the government, but also the Donovan's. She is recruited by her father to "seduce" Kyle Donovan so the Tang family can get close the Donovan International. The purpose behind this is unknown to Lianne, but soon it becomes apparent the Tang's need the powerful Donovan's to remain successful in the jade-trading market.

As expected, attraction gets the best of Kyle and Lianne and they are soon caught up in a passionate affair. The affair intensifies when Lianne is arrested for stealing the Tang family jade and Kyle feels the need to protect Liane. Soon he must protect her from a killer, a killer who do anything to keep Lianne from revealing what she knows about the Tang family and it's treasures.

"Jade Island" is a great novel. Aside from the story I learned a great deal about Chinese heritage and jade. The book itself is a history lesson into Chinese traditions and the different kinds of valuable jades there are. Immediately after reading the novel I was online looking up erotic pieces that I had read about. If the other two novels in the series are as good as this one, then I can hardly wait to start reading!

Summary: Loving' Lowell
Review: This is by far the best and most sensual of the Donovan Books. Hopefully she will write about the other missing sons Kyle & Justin. I'm looking forward to it.

Summary: As unusual as Jade is, so is this Story
Review: The second installment in Elizabeth Lowell's Jewel series is about the unusual jewel jade and the Chineese mafia. It stars Kyle Donovan who is given an assignment to find a way into the Tang company via Lianne Blakely the bastard daughter of Johnney Tang. Lianne is accused to sealing pricelss jade jewels from the Tang family and it is a race against time, the mafia, and the United States governement to recover the items. Add the fact that Lianne and Kyle are falling in bed and in love. This story stared out kind of slow and is never really resolved at the end as to who the actual "bad guy" is. But then it wouldn't be a series would it.

Summary: Disappointing!
Review: Normally, I very much enjoy Ms. Lowell's books. This one, however, was boring. I just couldn't get into the story. No depth to relationship between Lianne and Kyle.

Summary: Better Than Amber Beach
Review: I must say that Jade Island, the second book in the Donovan series, is a big improvement over Amber Beach, the first book. Jade Island is about Kyle Donovan, the youngest son of the six Donovans. Kyle meets up with Lianne, who is being accussed of stealing the legendary Jade Emperor's Tomb. Together Kyle and Lianne must convince the government that Lianne is innocent, while falling in love at the same time. Jade Island is full of excitement, laughs, and plenty of "heat" between Kyle and Lianne. If you read Amber Room and was disappointed, as I was, this one will make you want to finish the series.

Summary: Interesting And Exciting Book!
Review: Wow. Wonderful detail and great chemistry between Kyle and Lianne. I loved the patriarch of the Tang family, Wen, even though I believe he could have had more faith in Lianne.

Some people complain that Lowell gives too much detail, but, for me, it was just right. The way Lowell described the jades made me picture it in my mind and I could almost reach out and touch it.

I can't say I liked the character of Archer Donovan at all...he was always doubting Kyle's instincts and complaining that Kyle was thinking with the "little general" down there.

Wonderful book, I didn't think I would like it. Usually I read historical romances because they are more believable and detailed-in fact, I only read this contemporary novel because it had Elizabeth Lowell's name on it and I love her novels. This book definitely deserves five plus stars.

Summary: Jade Island
Review: The second book in the Donovan trilogy just pulls you deeper into this family. I really want to find out where men like these are hiding. Can't wait until I read the third book.

Summary: The best in the Donovan series so far
Review: This was the first book by Elizabeth Lowell that I had ever read, but as soon as I finished it I went out to get Pearl Cove and Amber Beach IMMEDIATELY. The well-defined characters, witty dialogue, and international intrigue had me rivetted, and the romance was steamy and delightful. I wish I were a part of the close-knit, adventure-loving Donovan clan, that's how thoroughly captivating these characters are. I can't wait for the fourth book in the series (Midnight in Ruby Bayou) to come out!

Summary: My Favorite of Elizabeth Lowell's Books
Review: It is not often that I take the time to write an on-line review for a book that already has 36, but this one is worth it! Of all Elizabeth's books, of which I have read many, I feel this to be her best work. Kyle and Lianne are two characters which immediatly catch the reader's heart and imagination. I look forward to reading the next installment in the Donovan series. By the way, Amber Beach and Pearl Cove are both equally captivating books which allow you to visit a very lively and adventurous family.
