Rating: Summary: Nice read but not Roberts's best Review: I truly enjoyed this book however the characters are predictable and unimaginative. The villan VanDyke is very much similar to the villian in Hidden Riches. However I do think it's an entertaining read but I really strongly recommand Honest Illustions, it is truly the best book I've ever read. Everyone that's read the book has agreed with me.
Rating: Summary: Nora Roberts does it again. Review: Not being a large fan of romance makes it amusing that I will read anything this woman writes. The Reef offers suspense and love, with an ending that is fantastic. If you haven't discovered Ms. Roberts yet, this is a great book to start with. Read this book and anything else by this wonderful author.
Rating: Summary: Another "Couldn't Put It Down" Nora Roberts Book! Review: For those of us who have read just about everything this master story teller has written, "The Reef" did not disappoint. No one does it better than Nora Roberts for light, entertaining reading with a lusty punch. Her books may not have the literary depth of a "Cold Mountain", which I also very much enjoyed, but then, I also like an ice cream cone once in awhile too! For this particular genre, Ms. Roberts has earned her crown with consistently great story telling.
Rating: Summary: A comfortable read. Review: As one of a legion of Nora Roberts fans, I eagerly await each new title. The characters are old friends and their trials and tribulations a welcome read. " The Reef " struck a very strong chord of remembrance. If you read and enjoyed "Honest Illusions, " you will also enjoy "The Reef." Each book had past and present divisions, angst driven males giving up all for love ( not trusting the 'young' female lead ), characters meeting after time passes, and love rediscovered strong enough to overcome obstacles the second time around. I have come to anticipate characteristics of other novels woven into each new title. It is fun to match lead characters from book to book. Even though I enjoyed this novel, I hope the next one develops beyond the expected.
Rating: Summary: very good Review: As always, Roberts delivers a well written plot that draws the reader in. While it was a good book, it wasn't her BEST. I was a bit disapointed by the characters, while they were intriguing, they don't measure up to other richer characters such as Roarke and Eve (Death series), Maggie and ROgan (Born in Fire), or Jed and Dora (Hidden Riches). Maybe it's because I read so many of her books already. I think a new Roberts reader will leave The Reef very satisfied. Either way, I would still read it.
Rating: Summary: Another winner from Nora Roberts! Review: Every time I start to read a new book from Nora Roberts, I wonder if it's going to be as great as the others. "The Reef" didn't disappoint me! The main characters, Tate & Matthew, are wonderful, and even the bad guy is interesting. The plot and the settings are great. I couldn't put this book down. If you've never read a Nora Roberts book, read this one, and you'll want to read them all!
Rating: Summary: Another winner! Review: Once again Nora Roberts has delivered a wonderful mixture of adventure, romance, and intrigue. Her attention to setting and detail made me feel as though I were right there with Tate and Matthew as they discovered sunken treasure on the ocean floor, and the romance was classic Nora. The Reef will pull you under--enjoy the dive.
Rating: Summary: Nora Robert at her very best Review: Near Australia, James Lassiter and Silas VanDyke are salvaging the remains of the Sea Star, a ship that sunk off of the Great barrier Reef two hundred years ago. Though not part of this job, the men dispute who can claim Angelique's Curse, a legendary jeweled amulet that James plans to locate on his next salvage job in the West Indies. Instead, while his teenage son Matthew waits on the ship, Silas kills James beneath the ocean.Eight years later, Tate Beaumont, a marine biology student, meets Matthew. Both share a love of the ocean and have ambitions to find Angelique's Curse. Reluctantly, they agree to team up and locate the missing gem. While diving beneath the ocean, the pair falls in love with one another. However, neither one realizes the truth behind his father's death and the danger that still lurks from Silas who still believes the amulet belongs to him. In one word, this novel can be summed up best: Nora. Though other writers might want to be like Nora, her newest novel, THE REEF, takes readers to depths rarely seen in a contemporary romantic suspense. Fans of the great author will find this novel to be her usual 62-home run affair and again prove that the Babe Ruth of romance deserved being the first writer elected to the Romance Writers of America's Hall of Fame. Rating: Summary: Romantic and adventurous Review: It's one of my favorite books. Nora Roberts did such an exceptional job of describing the scenery and the characters. It made me feel like I was watching the story play out in front of me. There was a tremendous chemistry between Tate and Matthew and it was impossible not to fall in love with them... and with the book itself.
Rating: Summary: A real page turner. Review: This was the second book by Nora Roberts that I read. I loved this book, because it kept my attention from the first page to the very end of the book. This book made me want to quit my job and hunt for treasures hidden at sea. This book is good for those who love a good adventure.
