Rating: Summary: You must read this book! Review: My first Nora Roberts book. I was hooked, I read it in one weekend. You will love it. I enjoyed the story and the treasure hunting. Very good book!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic story -- couldn't put it down Review: Great characters and strong story. I found myself reading until 3AM; I couldn't find a slow spot where I could put the book down. Interesting story line with treasure hunting, an ancient curse, and a modern love story. Another one of Ms. Robert's great stories --- A Must Read!!
Rating: Summary: Angilique's Curse would have been a better title. Review: This is a good story. I like how Matthew and Tate reconnect eight years later. It also had a story within a story when it told about Angilique and Etinne. Good plot line. If you want a great story by Nora Roberts check out Montana Sky. It keeps you guessing until the end!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: This was a wonderful, modern romance. it had sizzling sparks between Tate and Matthew, and actually had a good plot as well. it was believable and interesting. I liked the descriptions of the underwater scenes and the historical background. The character interactions were cute, too, what with matthew's uncle Buck and Tate's father pairing off like two old men should. The psycho guy was interesting, too. Hmm... very insightful, wasn't this? Tate Beaumont was a young woman when she fell in love with Matthew Lassiter. her father and his uncle had struck a partership deal when they both came accross a great find while diving. but the find was lost when one of the diving members was attacked by a shark, and the find was pirated by an unscrupulous businessman. The partership split up, as well as Tate and Matthew, who felt he could not corrupt an innocent girl. When they chanced to reunite for another diving partnership years later, Tate was no longer the innocent mermaid of yesterday. She had become a stunning woman, sure of her place in the world, yet nsettlingly unsre of her place around Matthew, who was still as devastatingly handsome as he had been when he broke her young heart. but now he couldn't resist the grown woman she had blossomed into, and they needed each other to unite against the businessman who had stolen their treasre so many years ago- and Mattew's father. There, happy now?
Rating: Summary: My 1st Nora Roberts, certainly not my last... Review: I absolutely LOVED this book. Honestly, I had never heard of Nora Roberts before I purchased "The Reef". I had only purchased this book because it was thick and I needed to take up some time while on a recent trip. The ironic thing about this time-consuming theory of mine was that "The Reef" was so interesting to me that I couldn't put it down. I read the entire book within 2 days. Ms. Roberts has certainly won over this reader. After reading some of the other reviews here I believe I'll slid over to "Hidden Illusions" next. We'll see if she can thrill me again and I hope she continues the romance and discovery of Tate and Matthew in another......
Rating: Summary: As usual, Nora Roberts has amazed me once more! Review: The intrigue, suspence, and over the edge romance in this book prevented me from cleaning the house for a whole week! I could not put it down. I could also tell that much research was done for the role of Tate. The description of the dives, the cataloging for the artifacts, and even the smallest detail of underwater safety was fascinating. This is definately one of her best. I hope you enjoy as much as I did!
Rating: Summary: Is everybody reading the same book here? Review: ...How else can we explain the wildly disparate reviews of this book?THE REEF is not Nora Roberts' best (RIVER'S END has that honor) but it is a truly excellent novel. I especially loved the description. It was like you were right beside Matthew and Tate as they brought up buckets of gold. The story was interesting, especially the decline of Uncle Buck and his rehabilitation after his encounter with a shark. The shark encounter that led to Buck's depression and alcoholism are usually things that would have happened before the story opened. It was great to see this developed throughout the story. The nasty comments about Ms. Roberts' research (offered with no supporting evidence, by the way) were totally off-base, not to mention offensive. And where did someone get the idea that Matthew abused Tate? I loved their relationship. Especially how Matthew sacrificed his happiness with Tate in the beginning so that she could pursue her dream of becoming a marine archaeologist without being hindered by his responsibilities. The only downside to this story was Tate's lack of appreciation or understanding for Matthew's unselfishness in letting her go.
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down. Review: This is one of her best....Definitely a must for first time novel readers. Nora Roberts comes through once again.
Rating: Summary: loved it Review: felt as though i was actually underwater with them searching the depths of the ocean floor! fantastic!!! ::smile
Rating: Summary: Good, but not Ms. Robert's best Review: Sixteen years earlier Matthew's father was murdered for an Amlet called Angulique's Curse. Not able to prove the murder, Matthew vowed revenge. Eight years later, Mathew and his uncle Buck meet up with The Beaumonts, Tate and her parents Ray and Marla. During an expedition Tate and Matthew fall in love only to have their love shattered by Silas VanDyke. Tate and Matthew both go their seperate ways expecting never to see eachother again. Now another eight years go by and fate has brought the two lovers together one more time. This time they find Angulique's Curse, fight off the bad guy and basically fall in love all over again. This was a pretty good book, but still not Ms. Robert's best. I did lose my interest halfway through and felt I had a hard time finishing it.
