Rating: Summary: delightful historical mystery Review: In 1902 New York, Police Chief Rick Bragg asks bluestocking amateur sleuth Francesca Cahill to help investigate a homicide as she has had some previous success. At first the police thought the deceased was artist Melinda Neville as the body was found in her apartment, but Francesca identifies the corpse as Grace Conway, the mistress of her brother Evan. The art studio was trashed just like that of Evan's artist fiancé was last week. Francesca's sibling is the link between the two crimes is the prime suspect. As Rick and Francesca work closely together to uncover the identity of a killer, they struggle with their love for one another that cannot be fulfilled as he is unhappily married. Though his wife left him to travel Europe for four years, she is back and expects to restart their relationship. His half-brother Calder Hart adds to the mix as he informs Francesca she will soon become his fiancée. The fifth Cahill tale includes several unexpected personal twists that add excitement to a delightful historical mystery that uses amateur sleuth and police procedural elements. The investigative story line is fun to follow as Rick leans towards Evan being guilty while Francesca plans to prove his innocence. Though the personnel rectangle slows down the who-done-it, fans will enjoy seeing the directions the lead couple goes setting up some intriguing scenarios for future installments. Harriet Klausner

Rating: Summary: Can't put the book down Review: It gets better. Brenda Joyce did a great job in the newest release of the Deadly series. I just cannot put the book down and I am thrilled at the development of the relationship between Hart and Fran. Another great part is that the author keeps you guessing because she plants some doubts on Hart's devotion to Fran as he is such a rake. Bragg is such a weakling by accepting his wife's Leigh Anne's return. Meanwhile, the murders keeps the novel exciting and and I really find this a perfect blend between romance and murder! Cannot wait for the next book of the series to come out in Fall.
Rating: Summary: The wait is over! Review: Like many of you, I've been waiting for this sequel in the Deadly series to appear. Deadly Caress is a most enjoyable read, and quite steamy in places, with the storyline more complex in the introduction and exploration of peripheral characters. For me, the whole idea of a wealthy New York society lady-as-sleuth seems a bit less plausible as it did in the first few books. So I've been able to put this Deadly down a bit, rather than read straight through as I did with the previous books. Reading about Francesca, Rick, Calder, the Cahills, Braggs, etc., etc. is still great so be sure not to miss this book!
Rating: Summary: This series keeps getting hotter! Review: Murder mystery and sex..you gotta love it. This was a well written murder mystery that kept you guess until the end. The love triangle between the two brothers and Francesca is getting hotter if possible! At this point I don't know which brother I am cheering for!?!? and the ending is not to be believed! If this is the first book you pick up in the series you won't be lost but do yourself a favor and read the first 2 books.

Rating: Summary: simply stunning! and sooooooo hot! Review: Oh my god! I have been waiting for this book since last year and boy was it not a disappointment!i managed to finish the book within a day.But i really got irked off with the fact that Bragg agreed to the six month deal with his wife, leigh ann! Not only that, leigh ann practically seduced bragg, and bragg succumbed to it! He was really brutal with his wife! i mean how could he have sex with her when he had agreed to marry francessa after the divorce and he also said that he love francessa! whata jerk! but i have to say im really surprised at how easily miss cahill is accepting this.she said its right that bragg and his wife has reconciled. one thing which i totally agree is the sexual tension and a very stong chemistry between fancessa and hart. but i was totally shocked when francessa spied upon hart and his mistress(upon an unlikely time) plus the mystery goes round and round. theres so many suspense and tension that it made my head swirl.keep up with the good work brenda joyce! i was a jaded reader, until i came upon brenda joyce "francessa cahill series". it just reawaken your senses with its superb mix of love, hate, thriller and sexual relations. i would really recommend all five books to any readers. these books would and could never bore you!

Rating: Summary: By far the best in the series!!! Review: Out of all the deadly books, this was the one I really could not put down. The romantic tension was awesome. I was happy to see Francesca more with Hart than Bragg, because Hart really truly seems to care for her. Especially in this book. There were plenty of plot set ups for this book too. I bet Leigh Ann will become pregnant just as the six months come up! Just in time for Francesca and Hart to say I do!!! Do you think Rick will object in the middle of the wedding???? Total soap opera going on here, and is just too much fun!
Rating: Summary: Kepps getting better & better..... Review: Plan to read in one sitting! Joyce does a great job-this book is HOT! The wait for the next book is hard-you just want to know where these relationships are going and who is sincere and she does a good job of keeping up the anticipation. I am so glad I wont have to wait a year for the next one.
