Luc/Nick was what every hero should be--a little flawed, a lot sexy. Roxanne St. Claire knows how to deliver solid romantic suspense. She arrived on the scene with Tropical Getaway, (...)

However instead of jail Nick cuts a deal to enable the Feds to capture bigger fish. When her mentor Dr. Garrow died in what has been ruled a suicide, UCLA art professor Dr. Janine Coulter takes over as the curator of a Versailles art exhibit he was to host. The focus is the three Pompadour Plum vases. However, security headed by Luc Tremont insists on safeguarding the vases rather than placing them in the center of the show. Janine and Luc argue, but he has a hidden agenda to catch a thief and he finds the American curator quite a distracter perhaps for the felon. When his plan fails, Luc knows he has a few days to recover the vases and catch the crook or face prison as the Scorpion. However, he never expected Janine to join him on his quest nor to fall in love with her. Fans of the Grant-Kelly vehicle To Catch a Thief will appreciate this FRENCH TWIST version of the classic movie. Janine and Nick are a fine duo though each blame the other for the theft of the vases yet they work so well together even if neither welcomes the growing attraction. The support characters provide the reader with a deeper look at the prime pair whose desperation turns the tale into a terse romantic suspense as each has a different reason to recover the lost cases. Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Fast-paced, thrilling ride Review: FRENCH TWIST had me from the start, all the way through to the satisfying conclusion with good, strong, sympathetic characters, a interwoven and detailed plot and a setting that jumped off the page -- 3D -- for me. The writing was strong and interesting and kept me turning the pages and reading "just one more chapter" before going to sleep. St. Claire has fast become one of my favorite authors with all of her books...and I'll add her to the list of writers I'll always buy no matter what. A great read all around.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Fat-free French Pastry Review: FRENCH TWIST is one of the best romantic suspense books I've read all year. The hero, Tristan, is to die for, with his thief's sense of honor. He's complicated, but affection for the heroine never wavers. The heroine, Janine, was wonderful. Smart and resourceful, she didn't back down, even when her life was in danger. And she doesn't defer to the hero--she works with him. As an extra, this book is filled with amazing descriptions of France, especially at Versailles, which I've never visited. I truly felt like I was there, which is a wonderful treat. A great story, compelling characters and an amazingly sensual setting--brava!

Really exciting, with a yummy hero and lots of twists and turns. Off to track down this author's other books...
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Read This Now! Review: I liked St. Claire's first book, Tropical Getaway, a lot, but I think this one is even better, and I'd recommend it to any reader. The characters are feisty and fun...the settings are beautiful...and the pace is perfect, with lots of suspenseful drama and yet plenty of time for quieter, more emotional (and sensual) moments. I loved both the heroine, who's smart and strong, and the hero, Luc (very glamorous, sophisticated and tough but also your basic good guy). Their interaction is sexy and romantic (obviously) but also feels grounded, tender and real. If you like books featuring either France and/or the art world that's a bonus, but at heart this book's appeal is much broader....it's just a terrific story. Last but not least it's really well-written, and that isn't always true of romances, which often seem slipshod or careless. I was glad to read St. Claire has several books coming up....I can't wait! I'd urge anyone who likes romance or suspense to try this one.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: 3 1/2 Stars Review: I was not overly impressed with this book, and even thought it only took me a day to read I can usually finish a book in half a day. The only thing I really like about this book was the hero, he had no regret for the life he choose only losing his faimly in the process. I do wonder if there will be a sequel and if so I read it. The story line was a common with nothign new, except maybe the heroine leaving the hero. I felt the story moved to fast and just skimming some surfaces and going in depth where it was not needed.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Romance with a Twist Review: My first introduction to Roxanne St. Claire was through her debut earlier this year with Silhouette Desire. Last weekend I picked up a copy of her single title, FRENCH TWIST. I absolutely couldn't put the book down. I read it on an airline flight and literally turned the last page as the plane landed. The plot is exquisite, the setting brings back memories of strolling through the Palace of Versailles and the characters are ones you love to love. Ms. St. Claire is now on my "must read" list and I eagerly await her upcoming releases. Her first book, TROPICAL GETAWAY, is scheduled reading for this weekend.
