Summary: Nothing less than SUPERB!!!!!
Review: I am also one of Linda Howard's avid fans and have been for several years. I was somewhat disappointed in her last two but did she ever redeem herself with All the Queen's Men. Her heros are always my favourite type. How could you not like John Medina...sure made my heart beat a little faster. I loved this book so much so that I had to keep the fix going and went and reread After the Night, another favourite.

Summary: Very Good Read
Review: I really liked this book. After "Now You See Her" I really didn't know what to expect because I didn't much care for it. I checked it out from the library because I didn't want to waste price of HB again. I am now going to buy HB. The storyline was interesting. As one reviewer put I'm glad she didn't blame John for Dallas death but I don't feel she was to blame either. People in those situations are aware of the risk & accept them. I thought there was very good interaction between the characters. One thing I especially liked was John & Niema seemed more like real people. They accepted their attraction & didn't run from it which is the case in most romances. I do agree with the reviewer that said things went a little to smoothly with the copying & bugging of *R's files & office. All in all I'm happy to say LH has won me over again.

Summary: One of Linda Howard's best!
Review: I love this book. I can't say how many times I've read it already. I'm afraid that it'll fall to pieces before I've read it enough. I just loved John Medina. I got a knot in my stomach a few times when he thought (or said) a few things that were so romantic. Imagine there being a real guy out there like that. I liked Niema too. Although not for the same reasons of course. It was awful when she lost Dallas but I think she handled it just right. I don't think I would have liked the book at all if she blamed John instead of herself. I actually liked Ronsard too. Strange. To think of the bad guy as a good guy too. That usually doesn't happen to me. But at least he wasn't a "bad" guy for the wrong reasons...

Summary: Howard comes out of her slump
Review: I am a loyal Linda Howard reader and was very disappointed with her last two books, but this one showed me that Howard has got back on track, Finally. The story was not to comlicated to follow and had some steamy love scenes. Howard should stick to this subject matter. Hot, Hot, Hot.. Son of the morning was a great disappontment,(time travel is not her best subject. In all the Queens men she brought back the strong James Bond type without delving into the impossible. Keep it upand I will keep buying

Summary: I've been waiting for a book like this for MONTHS!
Review: It has been a while since I've read a book that made me feel so sexy and glad to be a woman. With a well planned out plot, and characters that mingle and blend, Linda Howard has created a book that's unforgettable.

As my first Linda Howard book this is, I'm going to read her other works. Fabulous.

Summary: I WANT MORE!!
Review: I loved this book! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it needed a little bit more in the romance department. I LOVE how LH combines romance with "secret spy" stuff. PLEASE tell me there'll be more. Maybe a telling of Eric Govert's (Hossam) story?

Summary: Where's the story I kept waiting for?
Review: This novel was over two hundred pages of build-up and seventy pages of conclusion. Off they go to Paris to scheme their way into Ronsard's mansion; everything's set, let's get out of here and go home. There weren't any complications to this story. Everything goes off with hardly a hitch. Even escaping Ronsard and his men went off practically snag-free. Given that, how am I supposed to believe that Ronsard was clever enough to corner John and Niema in an alley? The only reason John and Niema were cornered was their own stupidity in venturing off the "safe-boat" in the first place.

There should have been complications here, Ms. Howard! For example, why not relive Niema's nightmare in Iran when Dallas (her first husband) was killed? Niema gets to safety but John is caught. Through radio communication with John, she believes he has met the same fate Dallas did: sacrificing himself to take out Ronsard and his men in order to destroy the link that terrorists have in getting chemical weapons. Only later does she find out that John is alive. There could be further complications from there.

Aside from that, I was also ticked off by Ms. Howard's treatment of ethics issues. Ronsard's daughter Laure needs a heart but even her father's money can't get her one because she has further extensive medical problems. Instead of focusing on the abomination that severely ill children are sacrificed by a medical establishment and a society that see no point in "wasting" transplant organs on them, Ms. Howard agrees that giving Laure a heart will necessarily deny one to an otherwise healthy child. Absolutely true but completely beside the point. The point is that no child is inherently more valuable than any other (especially not because one is healthier or more "normal" than another) and that each and every child should be equally treated when it comes to transplants. If the child has a chance of surviving the surgery, he is eligible to receive a transplant on the same first-come, first-served basis as any other child. In fact, children who are closer to death if a transplant is not performed, such as Laure, should receive PRIORITY so long as they have a chance of surviving the surgery.

Two stars because I loved John Medina. Three stars withheld because he deserved a better, richer, more complicated story.

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: Linda Howard is in top form crafting a tightly plotted and suspenseful novel while managing to weave in the sex and romance she is known for.

John is her usual (is there such a character for her, she seems to keep creating them and making them fresh every time) ALPHA male and the scene in the office was very very HOT! Niema was again very well crafted - a good match for John. What's the female equivalent of the alpha male? Is there such a thing? If there is - Linda creates them.

Very satisfying read. I've already reread it twice.

Summary: This book was a complete waste of time.
Review: This was my first read of Ms. Howard's work and will most definitely be my last. I can only assume that Ms. Howard's other books were romance novels written for an audience who needs constant doses of rather juvenile lust, peeking at various awe inspiring body parts and a highly improbable bizzare sex scene in the villain's library.Medina is an interesting character but goes nowhere near his potential under Howard's influence. If you like Clancy, Le Carre or anything like them stay far away from this one

Summary: Excellent Book!
Review: I, for one, am beginning to enjoy books that have more to them than just a romantic plot. This book has action, suspense and romance all rolled into one. The characters, scenes and events are very well laid out and flow well. I would recommend "All the Queen's Men" as an enjoyable and entertaining read.
