Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Fast Women Review: This was an okay book-some romance, some mystery, a lot of cheating. An overall interesting story about 3 women and how their lives intertwin with each other and with a detective agency who mostly uncovers cheating spouses.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Enjoyable but... Review: Fast Women is my second book by Jennifer Crusie. I read Crazy for You and thought it was amusing. However, this second one started off well and seemed to trickle off. It wasn't just that the plot was a bit far-fetched or that there were some strange dynamics between some of the characters. Crusie handles that fairly well and there was a nice pace to the book. The extended cast of characters became hard to keep track of at times and I found it difficult to get my hooks into some of the players; Margie, the rather ditzy friend who was close by at her mother's violent death and who was dumped by her husband is a prime example. Crusie has a formula that works: as in Crazy for You there are two brothers, one difficult and brooding and almost gothic while the other is more handsome but more of a lightweight, at least on the surface. A dog becomes an important and appealing part of the supporting-cast in both books. But she handles these in deft fashion, so I'm not objecting to the formula. The writing overall is witty. And there was some good suspense. I will still look forward to reading more of Crusie's books. But...what can I say? If it were a child's toy top, Fast Women could have done to be wound just a little bit tighter.

But I found myself going back to it and decided I really wanted to see more of these wacky characters. What a series this could make.!

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Here we go again! Review: It's another hilarious character study. Jennifer Crusie has the guts to write what all women think--maybe men to, but I've never thought like one of those! This book had me alternately laughing aloud over the antics of Nell and Suze such as dognapping and aching for their hollow losses at love--been there, done that. These are real people, and all the ones you care about, although not always right, are all ways good. I've said it before and I'm getting embarrassed about repeating myself so much, but I can't wait for her NEXT one now! My advice: Buy it. Now. Quickly. The sooner you start to read the sooner you'll begin laughing. Warning: It may be a woman's book. I liked it lots and I'm a woman. I'd think men would find it hilarious too, but I don't know for sure!
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: A quick read for the beach... Review: *Fast Women* was a fairly enjoyable romance for the summer. Nell Dysart recently divorced her husband of twenty-two years and realized she needed a job. The novel opens with her interview with McKenna Investigations, a firm straight from a Humphrey Bogart movie. After a semi-clumsy interview where Nell manages to break a few pieces of furniture and the owner's window, she is hired. Gabe McKenna and Riley McKenna are partners at the firm and have been working with the Dysart family empire for over thirty years. A lot of history passed between the two families, and once Nell is properly ensconced in the firm's office, she goes on a mission to bring the firm into the 21st century. During this overhaul, evidence is discovered that links Gabe's father to a twenty year old suicide in the Dysart family. With the hint of murder in the air, Nell's two best friends and former sister-in-laws, Suze and Margie, become more involved in the day-to-day events of the firm. Suze begins to wonder if her husband Jack isn't who she needs, and Margie continues to wonder if her relationship with Budge should continue. I had difficulty with the multitude of similar characters in the novel. Only Riley, Gabe and Nell stood out from the rest, making it a good read 'til the end despite the confusion. I am looking forward to reading *Welcome to Temptation* next.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Lacked Crusie's usual sparkle. Review: A good story, with well developed characters, Fast Women still missed the dark sense of humor that makes the rest of her books such a treat to read. No one else writes quite the way she does, and the trinity of Tell Me Lies, Crazy for You and best of all, Welcome to Temptation create something very tough to live up to. Though she writes the same real, and character driven story, with a off-beat and unbelievable mystery, the "I can't believe she just said that..." quality is missing, and I was vaguely disappointed. Wait for the paperback.

Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Don't waste your time reading this book. Review: This book was LOUSY. It lacked character, was stupid, far-fetched and had no point! I'm sorry I wasted my hard-earned money on it.
