Summary: Fast Women
Review: I Cannot tell you how much I loved this book. I read it slowley and carefully so I would not miss anything. I was laughing the whole time and crying at my feeling that I had some of the character in myself, You do not know what a joy it was to read this. I read thousands of books in a year and skim through alot of them but this one kept me in suspence the whole time. Can you can please pass this on to the auther so that I can keep up the laughter. Thank you Darlene L. Mulcahy.

Summary: Fast Fun Read
Review: I had just finished Faking It, so I didn't expect to enjoy this one as much. I didn't. I did enjoy it immensely though. I tried to explain the plot-line to my husband and totally lost him, but when reading the book it all fell into place so easily. I loved the twist with the freezer, and I really enjoyed Suze and her running cups. I am now interested in reading more by Jennifer Crusie.

Summary: Let's face it...it's life!!!
Review: This is by far the best book I've read all year. Good for you, Jennifer Crusie, for having the tenacity to write a book with flawed characters and breaking the monotony of she loves him, he loves her, happily ever after. Also, my greatest thanks for writing the best line I've ever had the privilege to read "Good grief, drink to me I just realized I've slept with everybody at this table". That one statement sent me into a fit of laughter that still has me giggling when I think about it. This book in not for those with strict moral views, those looking for your average romance. For those of us with spirit and fire, those whom enjoy life's little twists, and not so tidy relationships, read until your heart's content.

Summary: A very fun little book
Review: I enjoyed every page of this book--for the excellent characters, humor, fun interaction (it is Crusie's premise that the two main characters, Nell and Gabe are "kissers"--people with "my way or the highway" attitude; by definition, their romantic interaction is anything but boring), great fun sex, romantic love, hot men, cool women, revenge. And, of course, Marlene. The mystery in the novel is not much to speak of, but it is still a highly enjoyable "summer" read.

Summary: Terrible characters
Review: I finished "Getting Rid of Bradley" and I couldn't wait to read another Crusie novel. Oh Lord! This was the wrong one. The characters were awful. I read it to get through, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. The fact that the hero discussed wanting to seriously BEAT the heroine is not a sign of true love to me. I could go on, but it's all terrible, so why bother? I'm going to read "Faking It" to give this author another try, but if it is as bad as this one, I'll never waste another minute with her.

Summary: GREAT!!!
Review: Just read this book- it is FABULOUS! It is a great read; it has everything, romance, humor, crime, murder...a wonderful detective love story! I can't say enough good things about it. If you're considering buying it, DO IT! It's that good!

Summary: entertainingly fast summer read
Review: As the back cover carries the words from Redbook magazine "A beach book for your brain...a sexy, intellectual read.", so do the inside pages! A hard-to-put-down book, FAST WOMEN, is the story of a divorced woman who is suffering terribly. With the help of her two close friends she lands a job as a secretary with a detective agency. She is given the chance to live again---she discovers herself, what she wants, doesn't want, likes, dislikes, etc. and discovers her abilities as a woman to take a stand. Not to mention she discovers her soul mate by the end of this fun novel.
Some scenes could have been cut shorter or more developed, but that can be the case with any book, so I got past that and continued through, only to discover myself a quick, entertaining, empowering, and uplifting read over my summmer vacation! Check it out.

Summary: Crusie entertains
Review: The first sentence had me hooked. And except for a few places that bogged down in the middle, I enjoyed FAST WOMEN, and found it to be a fast read. Newly divorced Nell is looking for work and ends up at McKenna Investigations. Her friends, Suze and Margie, (though well-to-do trophy wives, and seemingly without problems) are emotionally crippled in their own right. Matching Nell up with her boss, and Nell's son up with the boss' daughter seemed a bit contrived, but this is, after all, a story isolating a small pool of people who have made the rounds with each other and their friends. The private investigation firm Nell works for gets the typical cases that peak the reader's interest and hold it. The story got a bit "girlie" for me when reading about Suze's penchant for Ebay auctions and dishes and china patterns best left to a bridal register, but Crusie obviously has sophisticated tastes herself, if not nostalgic (and I did enjoy being educated about running cups). This was my first run with Jennifer Crusie and I picked up a copy of FAKING IT (Crusie). Since I enjoy reading books with strong female protagonists I would also recommend CONSTABLE'S RUN and THE LADY GODIVA MURDER, both by Laurie Moore, as an alternative to this witty author, for those who demand less private-I and more police procedure for their strong women characters.

Summary: The earth didn't move...
Review: nor did it even shudder a bit when I read this rather vapid tale.
No emotional attachment with any of the characters, a plot that SERIOUSLY strained credibility, and very bloated--a good editor could easily wipe out a hundred pages with no sweat. I have to give Cruise this: she does a good job writing steamy sex scenes. Other than that, the whole book was excrutiatingly predictable.

Summary: A Good Reason To Read Romance Novels!
Review: "Fast Women" was a total of 417 pages long...I read it in 2 days! It was THAT GOOD! I couldn't bring myself to put it down. Going to bed at night became such a pain; I found that I had to force myself to put it down and get some shut-eye. I loved reading it. Crusie is NOT your ordinary "smut"-writer. She brings the reader into her intricately woven world of mystery, suspense, one-liners, laughter and intense love scenes. Where other romance novels have made attempts at portraying a mix of light witty comedy with romance, and failed, Crusie sails above all others with her colorful fast-talking characters and laugh-out-loud-funny dialogue. While reading this, I literally was brought to tears with laughter, time after time. I was afraid my family was beginning to think I was crazy, sitting there laughing at a "romance-novel". I recommend this to any woman in need of a good laugh...and the love scenes aren't bad either! Just brace yourself if you're a TV junkie -- you'll be neglecting your habit for a while. It's an awesome book! Happy reading!
