Summary: A wonderful work
Review: After twenty years of marriage, Nell Dysart's husband tells her that he no longer loves her and plans to file for a divorce. Nell barely ate or slept for the next eighteen months and rarely left her home. Finally, she is persuaded to apply for a temporary job as an office manager in a detective agency. During the interview, she breaks the shades, tears a hole in the carpet, and spills coffee all over Gabe McKenna's desk.

Even though she flopped miserably, Gabe hires her anyway. She soon finds evidence that her predecessor embezzled money from the firm. Soon her temporary job becomes permanent even as Gabe and Nell fall in love. However, Gabe and Nell are control freaks who must find a way to forge a relationship that makes both of them happy or slowly watch it wither away.

Jennifer Cruise has always put humor in her novel, but in FAST WOMEN, it is subtler as if the author is targeting a more mainstream audience than her usually amusing romances. Readers will delight in the hilarious battle of the sexes that star two hysterically funny combatants. This novel is destined to hit the best-selling charts.

Summary: Couldn't put it down
Review: Outstanding read. Crusie's always funny, but beneath the humor is so much truth that her stories always make you feel and think both. Her style is exuberant and fun, but Fast Women is also about the prices of divorce--and marriage--and what love really means. Highly recommend.

Summary: Fast Women was not that swift
Review: Jennifer Crusie is probably my favorite writer--I have read and loved all of her books. Perhaps that's why this one was a disappointment. It exhibits her wonderful writing and great dialogue, but I had a difficult time getting into the story and caring about the characters. The ending became predictable, and only the main character's action to help out her son in the last part of the book was a surprise. I think this book is far better than most of the genre out there, however, I didn't enjoy it as much as "Crazy For You" or "Welcome to Temptation", which is why there are only three stars. It will likely not stay on my keeper shelf.

Summary: CRUSIE WRITES EYE-CANDY
Review: THIS IS A WONDERFULL NOVEL, The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because I couldnt help but compare it to WELCOME TO TEMPTATION, which was 12 stars to me, and every person I have loaned it to. FAST WOMEN was fast paced and the characters were full, consiouse beings, easy to get to know and care about. Crusies style of writing is SO good, after you finish with her novels you cant help but think, I WANT TO WRITE LIKE THIS WHEN I GROW UP. In the mean time I will keep reading her stuff because it is incredible eye candy.

Summary: Fun, but a disappointment
Review: Pity poor Jennifer Crusie, having to live up to the wild, sexy ride of "Welcome To Temptation." As a fan of hers who has read every book she has written, I was anxious to get my hands on "Fast Women." And while I admit to enjoying it, and reading it in one sitting, it was a little bit like Chinese food. lots of anticipation, great tasting, but less than filling. The premise was great, the story started out well, but somewhere in the middle it just faded away. There wasn't enough emphasis on the main character's romance, the secondary romance was expected, but highly disappointing, seemingly tacked on, as was the murder mystery. There was no mystery, the culprit was obvious. While "Fast Women" was better than the average romance/suspense, it was far from up to Ms. Crusie's usual standard. But you can bet I'll be first in line when her next book debuts.

Summary: Good book, Fast read
Review: Fast Women is a mystery, romance, and funny novel all wrapped into one. The book was drawn out a bit, but still kept you interested in the storyline. Jennifer Crusie is definately a very talented writer. I've read all of her novels...check out Welcome To Temptation after you read this novel.

Summary: Favorite Book!
Review: I loved this book! I must have read it at least 8 times! The characters really grip you and when their heart breaks or when they discover something new in the mystery, you're right there next to them feeling the same emotions.
If you like romance mixed in with some mystery, this is a must-read!

Summary: THIS BOOK WAS LAUGH OUT LOUD FUNNY
Review: I really enjoyed reading my first Jennifer Crusie book. I was kind of sad to see the book come to an end. I loved it and now I am online trying to buy other books by this Artist.

Summary: Fast Women is Fast Reading
Review: Jennifer Cruise is a new author to me - and I am happy to have found her!
Fast Women is a funny, romantic novel, with a female mystery sleuth to boot. Several times I laughed out loud, and there were times I choked up too.
Nell Dysart has just left her old job, house, husband, and is wandering through life on auto pilot. She takes a job working for the McKenna Investigations agency, and the adventure begins. Not only does Nell find her life again, but some pretty funny moments with her ex sisters in law, her new bosses, and a thirty year old mystery to solve.
Marlene (aka SweetiePie) the long haired dachshund is a hoot!
Great light-hearted reading.

Summary: Not Crusie's Best-- Read "Bet Me" Instead.
Review: This is the first Jennifer Crusie novel that I didn't devour and finish within a couple of days. Usually I cannot stop reading her novels-- I can't wait for the main characters to get together and I'm dying to see how it all ends up. But "Fast Women" bored me. I felt like it never really found its rhythmn, I didn't much like Nell or Margie or Suze, and I kept losing track of the mystery plot.

At first, I liked that the novel's romances moved more slowly than they typically do, but after a while, it felt like Crusie was delaying satisfaction rather than building to it. As a result, although the love scenes were well-written as always, they seemed flat to me.

There were also two minor plot twists-- Suze and Nell making out and Nell sleeping with Riley-- that I thought were silly and a waste of time.

I did feel that this was one of Crusie's more ambitious novels. There's a lot of emotional gray areas, multiple characters, and attempts to present the realities of divorce. But the end result was disappointing for me. I wish I'd re-read "Crazy for You" or "Bet Me" instead of taking on "Fast Women."
