Summary: Great book!
Review: Excellent suspense and plot development. The relationship between Caro and Conor was heartbreaking at times and heart pumping at others. This is a wonderful first book and I will definitely be looking for more from this writer!

Summary: great beach read!
Review: i picked up this book to read on the beach this summer and was surprised with how much i enjoyed it! its a great summertime book and was easy to read- the pace of the book moved right along and kept my attention.

the heroine is carolyn, an fbi profiler, who has her own past tragedy when her sister was murdered. carolyn has always felt guilty about her sister's death and broke up with her then boyfriend conor to run away to boston. She returns years later to help the local police catch a serial killer- and Conor is in charge of the police investigation. Of course both are drawn to each other again. in the midst of the investigation, it is discovered that the killer has a personal connection with carolyn.

The book has a great ending and the subplot of the love story between the two characters is interesting and makes the novel fun to read. A++

Summary: Entertaining Suspense
Review: Laurie Breton's first work of romantic suspense successfully emphasizes the suspense of the story, providing an engaging serial killer chiller.
FBI agent Carolyn Monahan heads up a task force to catch a serial killer terrorizing Boston, sometimes called Mr. X. However the lead detective on the case Lietenant Conor Rafferty shares a steamy past with Monahan. Putting their attraction aside, they work together to find and apprehend the killer.
The suspense builds when the team discovers the killer is targeting Carolyn specifically. She and Rafferty's torrid relationship while trying to dodge a killer does provide some entertainment. However, the steamy scenes slow down and detract from the story as a whole.
A wonderful first novel. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Breton.

Summary: For Police procedural and romantic suspense fans
Review: The fourth victim is an eighteen-year-old North Dakota resident who has come to Boston to attend school. Her murder leads to the Boston police to set up a task force headed by Lieutenant Conor Rafferty to stop the serial killer rapist before someone else dies. The FBI sends profiler Dr. Carolyn Monahan to help solve the case. Ten years ago, Conor and Caro were engaged until someone murdered her sister while she lingered in bed with her beloved instead of picking up her sibling as previously arranged. Unable to face the guilt, Caro left town and joined the Feds.

Though he hates having the FBI involved and more so Caro, Conor realizes her profiling skill helps especially as a tool to eliminate those most likely not to be the killer. As their attraction rekindles, Caro becomes the focus of a clever murderer whose apparent current terror is not his first as he sends unique photos of her sister's murder to prove otherwise.

Though the culprit when revealed by Laurie Breton seems strange, readers will find fascinating this strong serial killer romance that intelligently weaves elements from both genres into a taut thriller. The story line is loaded with action focused on a triangle between Conor and Caro in love and the killer playing cat and mouse with both of them, but mostly Caro. The insight into profiling is superb taking much of the mysticism out of it yet brilliantly used to further the plot. Police procedural and romantic suspense fans will want to read Laurie Breton's enjoyable tale.

Summary: Final Exit
Review: This book was incredible. The characters were real, the heroine had depth. It was a great thriller, with just enough romance. I love this author and after I read this book I went on line to find anything else she had written.

Summary: Hard to put down
Review: This one will keep you turning the pages...poor old Boston has another serial killer and the "perp" will surprise you. The characters are well drawn and the underlying sense of irony and humor bring a chuckle now and then. You may even recognize a few of the characters and situations as the author weaves in a variety of realistic people, including the few oddballs we all run into now and then. I recommend it!

Summary: exciting and suspenseful thriller
Review: When FBI agent Carolyn (Caro) Monahan returns to Boston to help search for a serial killer who is terrorizing young women she must face the past she thought she had escaped. That past included the brutal and unsolved murder of her sister Meg, her dysfunctional family life, and the relationship with Lieutenant Conor Rafferty that she fled from ten years ago. To Caro's dismay she is assigned to work with Conor when she arrives in Boston. Caro and Conor discover that their mutual attraction has not been diminished by time. When the killer sets his sights on Caro, Conor does all he can to protect her but Caro is angry and she refuses to hide. This story is deftly written with charachters who are well drawn and likeable and a suspenseful and surprising conclusion.
