Rating: Summary: Boring Review: Although I like Ms. Robards novels, I am not fond of her fortay into contemporary romance. This novel is no exeption. There is not one specific thing that I did not like about this book. It was an altogether cumulation of different things, that made it boring and predictable. Molly Ballard is a young woman down on her luck. She is supporting and caring for her 4 younger siblings. So it comes as no surprise, that when an opportunity arises for her to make off with $5000, she jumps at the chance. Unfortunately though for her, she is caught on a tape of an undercover FBI investigation. Will Lyman is the undercover FBI agent who catches the young Molly Ballard in the act. Instead of persecuting her, he decides that she would be useful in his investigation, and he seizes the opportunity to use her as a spy for the FBI. Will and Molly pose as Boyfriend and Girlfriend. I guess it is the norm for a 40 year old man, and a 24 year old girl to hook up. Maybe, this book IS based in the southern part of the US. And while this type of thing could be swallowed in Ms. Robards historical romances, this major age difference at such a day and time as now, is actually sort of perverted to me. And Molly of course is a girl of questionable morals, that was not in her favor either. I don't know why, but this book really turned me off. The age difference could have been more tolerable if Ms. Robards had shaved off a couple of years and made Will a little younger. There is an 11 year gap between my husband and I, but I was 19 when we were married and he was 30. Maybe its just me, but this book wasn't even interesting in any other aspect. I did not keep me riveted or in suspense. I quite willingly closed it at night and finished it in the morning. Its up to you, but I do not recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Hunter's Moon Review: From the first chapter I was hooked. It keeps your interest with right to the end. Karen knows what readers want and she delivers with full force. The passion these charactors have for each other, once they let it known, it intence.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful!!!!!! Review: Great suspence, great romance, great characters, great plot and great love scenes to boot. I've read a lot of Robards most recent contemporaries and this is definitely a standout. In fact the only one I've kept it on my shelf for years and would never think of trading it away or donating to the neighborhood library book sale. Wonderful!!!!
Rating: Summary: Simply Fantastic - Another great read from Ms Robards Review: Hunter's Moon offers a thoroughly enjoyable read. This is definitely one of her best books. The importance of family, love and trust are the resounding issues in this novel. Readers should find Molly's strength admirable as she is torn between doing what is right and what is best for her family in her relationship with Will and in references to her tumultous childhood. This novel will not disappoint you - so enjoy it soon !
Rating: Summary: A Real Page Turner Review: I absolutely loved this book. It had great suspense as well as romance. I was rooting for Molly and Will throughout the book. I really can't say too much more than "I REALLY LOVED THIS BOOK"
Rating: Summary: the best action/romance I've read in a long time. Review: I couldn't believe how good this book was. Its been a long time since I've read a book that has kept me up all night. I really wish there was a mystery sequel with Molly and Will in it. The sparks between them were amazing. I wish there was a man out there exactly like Will for me. This book is a MUST read for all romance/mystery lovers out there! I give it ten stars!
Rating: Summary: Disappointment. . . . Review: I generally love Robards, but this one and "Heartbreaker" leave you wondering exactly why the hero falls in love with the heroine. Molly, while very down-to-earth, doesn't show Will anything but a good time in some interesting places. (Not the backseat of a car, but instead. . . .) She is pretty, needs help, so perhaps it would ne instinct for a man like him to help her out, but to fall in love with her? Besides, if she is in ned of a man that badly, why doesn't she choose one of the dozens who want her? Will is fabulous, and I really wish he had gotten a better woman.
Rating: Summary: The Best Review: I love this book, over the last year I have read it 3 times. It would make a great movie and Ed Harris must play the FBI agent. I love Karens modern day novels.
Rating: Summary: This book was enthralling. Review: I must say that this novel ranks as high as Walking After Midnight. I find myself reading it again and again. I fell in love with Will, the hard-nosed, nothing but business, FBI agent. Though he tries not to become emotionally involved with Molly Ballard, he can't resist her . This is a must read for all KR fans.
Rating: Summary: Not one of Robard's best Review: I'm beginning to think that Karen Robard's would be a lot better off sticking to historical fiction. This is the fourth contemporary romance that I've read of hers (the others were To Love a Man and Wild Orchids--both horrible and One Summer, not bad), and while it's better than most of the other contemporaries of hers that I've read, it's still disappointing. It seems that in all of her contemporary romances that I've read so far, one of the protagonists (i.e., either the hero or heroine) is nauseatingly desperate. In To Love a Man and Wild Orchids, it's the heroine. In Hunter's Moon, it's the hero. Even after receiving insult after insult from the heroine (e.g., he's "old" and "stuffy") and having to put up with her immature romantic games (e.g., necking in the car & receiving a hickey from a date because she knows Will is in her house and waiting for her), he stills falls in "love" with her. The thing is, Robards doesn't really give readers a reason for the hero falling in love with the heroine. By reading it, you can easily see why he falls in lust with her (she's drop-dead gorgeous), but I can't think of anything in her personality that would make him fall in love with her. I got sick and tired of the heroine constantly making the hero jealous by accepting dates with other men. Also, Robards didn't develop the hero's character enough. Although Will reveals that he is a widower with an 18-year-old son, readers are privy to very little about his feelings over his deceased wife or his relationship with his son. Overall, the hero is undeveloped and his desperate fixation with Molly makes you want to shake him and wish he'd wake up and find someone more deserving of his love than Molly.
