Rating: Summary: Made a mistake Mr. Dickey Review: While I was reading "Thieves' Paradise," I noticed that Mr. Dickey made a mistake. Robin, Jackson's fiancee, had a silver Passat when he first described her car and her licensed plate that read EYE FLY 4 U then it went to Pam's green Nissan which was described as Robin's green Nissan with the licensed plate that read EYE FLY 4 U. Then at the end Robin had her silver Passat again. People has to look out for small mistakes like the one I pulled out but i still have nothing but love for Mr. Dickey. He is one of my favorite authors.
Rating: Summary: TOO MANY STARS TO COUNT Review: This book is an action packed, lustful, dramatic, and suspenseful masterpiece jampacked with stars. Each star contributes to Dante's, the main character, life and helps him develop into a man. Jackson, the best friend, sets the example of a good man worn down by the rage of an angry "baby momma." Scamz, the godlike conartist, is the big brother Dante always looked up to but never wanted to become. Pam, the seductive waitress, teaches Dante a new level of feeling. These chracters place obstacles in the main characters way that mold him throughout the story. The direct interaction that Dante has with these characters and others aids him in his decision on which life he wants to live. This book will knock the reader out and have him/ner seeing stars.
Rating: Summary: Ejd's Worst Review: I am a fan of EJD but this is the worst book I have ever read by this great author. I don't even know where to begin to explain how much I did not like this book, so to sum it up,the book just simply should not have been written. I wish I could get my money back. I would not recommend this book to anyone unless they are prepared to be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Not one of his better books Review: I have enjoyed almost all of Dickey's books, but this didn't hold my attention.
Rating: Summary: Good book Review: You have redeemed yourself from your book "Between Lovers"! Thank you!
Rating: Summary: Dickey At His Best Review: Every time I pick up a book by Mr.Dickey I am never ever disappointed. He always has good story lines when he sets the story in LA. This book is about con artists. But in all reality these cons and scams really do happen in real life. I know having been conned. The drama and not dramady in this book will have you laughing as well as crying sometimes. I thought it was a fun and fast read.
Rating: Summary: All In a Days Work . . .or Crime Never Pays Review: Or at least, that's what they tell you. However, for Dante, who couldn't get a job, no matter how hard he tried, falling back into his criminal life was the only thing that was paying. But everyone has their own agenda. Having a fondness for eating every now and then, Dante just wanted something to tide him over until he could get a "real" job. Jackson just wanted to get his [mad] ex and the court off his back. Pam was convinced that getting surgery that had nothing to do with her face was the key to making her a star. And Scamz was the leader of this band of misfits that played them all. Or did he play himself? Maybe they all played themselves in an effort to play the game. This was certainly a different read for EJD. I enjoyed it alot. And while it was different, it was still classic Eric, who can turn a phrase as no other. I would love to see how this would play out as a movie. It think it would be interesting. At any rate, if you are already an EJD fan, I think you will enjoy this. But don't expect the usual fair. This is different, but no less good.
Rating: Summary: Thieves' Paradise Review: For any young person looking for a good book to read this would be the one. This book overlooks generation.
Rating: Summary: ehh---It was alright Review: This author is normally a superb writer. I have all of his books and usually cant wait to read the next one but this is one book I could have kept out of my collection. For Eric, this book is a flop. He states at the end that he started this in college during one of his thesis'. Well in my opinion, he should have left it where he started it...in school. I still cant wait to see what's next with E.J. Dickey. He is normally a fabulous writer.
Rating: Summary: A great book Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. This book made me want to keep reading and reading to find out whats going to happen next.I was satisfied with the book.I will recommend it.
