Summary: Great Suspense Thriller
Review: Julie Garwood is one of my all time favorite romance writers. She has become well known over the years as a great historical romance writer. "For the Roses" is one of my all-time favorite books. Like a lot of romance writers, she has made the shift towards a more sensational thriller. She has done a great job with this first thriller.

Tom, a priest, and Nick, a FBI agent, have been best friends since childhood. Tom's sister, Laurant, has remained in Europe throughout her childhood, never meeting Nick. During confession, Tom receives a disturbing threat against Laurant and unknown women. Naturally, Tom is terrified for his sister, and immediately calls Nick.

After all the years of hearing about each other, Nick and Laurant finally meet when Nick volunteers to watch over Laurant until the psycho suspect can be apprehended. Nick becomes beautiful Laurant's constant companion as they publicly act as an engaged couple to act as bait. They find each other very captivating; however, Nick thinks of his best friend's sister as off limits. Laurant, feels her brother/priest would disapprove. The forbidden proves to be a definite lure as the two find themselves falling for each other.

Julie Garwood brings to life wonderful characters. She also brings to life her Catholic faith in a realistic & touching manner. She describes Tom as Priest What a Waste! I loved the characters and the relationships explored in this book, as well as the intense suspenseful drama played out. It was not sugarcoated. The agents carry guns and break things, just as they should.

If you have been a fan of Julie Garwood, you will like this book. If you are not a fan of romances, but like a grittier book, you will like this book. I am glad to see Ms. Garwood branch out. She did a lot of research and preparation for this book and it all shows.

Summary: She Did It Again
Review: This book is great. It different from her other books. It is has more suspense. The only thing that I wish was she would have told us if Noah Clayborne is Cole Clayborne grandson! This had to be the best book that I have read in months. If your a fan of her books then this is a most have. You will burst out laughing at the part of the book when the sister's meet Nick!

Summary: A great book
Review: I have read all of Julie Garwood's books which are all historical romances. With this being a contemporary I was a little skeptical at how good it would be. Julie Garwood proved that she can even write wonderful contemporary novels as well. This was a really good book. It kept you wondering who the "unsub" was until the end. I could not put the book down. I finished reading it in one night. A must read for all Julie Garwood fans.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I just finished the book this morning. I am somewhat disappointed. After reading Ransom, Heartbreaker was a let down. I didn't find any dimemsion to the two lead characters. Usually, I am able to empathize with her main characters, but this time, I could not. Nick and Laurant seemed so "blah."

I did, however, like Noah. He seemed far more interesting--especially given his last name (but I don't want to give anything away). There were a couple of good scenes in the book, and they usually involved Noah.

Ms. Garwood usually develops the feelings of her heroes and heroines better than she did in this book, and perhaps that is why this one feels so flat.

I might suggest this book to a fan of modern romances.

Summary: I loved this book.
Review: This book was great. I loved how the main characters Nick and Laurant interacted together and with the supporting characters, Tommy and Noah (I hope that in some future book there is a story for them too.)

When a killer enters Tommy's confessional and gives advanced warning to wanting to kill his sister Laurant is the start of this romantic mystery. After this the FBI is called in and they start the search for this unsub (Unknown Subject).

The story was great, I had no idea who the true killer was, till Nick figured it out - very near to the end of the book. I really enjoy reading and this is definitely one I will be reading again and again.

Summary: Not quite her usual caliber
Review: I have been eagerly awaiting Julie Garwood's new book, Heartbreaker. I have always been a big fan of her work. However I found that I did not enjoy her latest, Heartbreaker, as much as her other books. I was expecting that this would have the same tender, funny chemistry between Laurant and Nick that is so characteristic of Julie Garwood's books. Instead the relationship seemed to be contrived and a little rushed and missed the magic she normally puts into her books. The story focused more on the mystery aspect of the story instead of interaction between Laurant and Nick. Overall I would say that this is one of my least favorite books by Julie Garwood.

Summary: Julie Garwood does it again
Review: Usually I am not a reader of romance novels. However, yet again, I lost another night's sleep. Julie Garwood has a wonderful way of creating characters that you fall in love with and miss horribly when you close the book. I was worried with Heartbreaker because it had a modern setting, but I enjoyed every word by the time I was finished. The only bad part is that I now I want to go back and re-read all of her books. If you love Julie Garwood or are new to her works, make sure that you read this book. It is worth a few meager hours of sleep.

Summary: Heartbreaker
Review: For Julie Garwood's first contemporary novel I think she did a wonderful job. She uses her usual wit and humor along with a great storyline to create a book that I found hard to put down. The teasing and banter between caracters reminds me of her book Castles. I am a fan of all of Julie Garwood's books, but I think this one is especially good. I can only hope that there will be future stories that include some of the caracters we met in this one.

Summary: A romantic thriller!
Review: A psyco killer confides his obssesion to a horrifide priest, that the priest's sister is the star of his twisted fantasies. This is the premise for Heartbreaker. I enjoyed this book, the characters are mostly well developed and the plot moves along. this is a romance though the plot does suggest otherwise, kinda of Psyco meets Barbra cartland.

I also recomend "A Tourist in the Yucatan" thriller/mystery
