Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A real page turner to the end Review: WOW! I really loved this book by JG and have read all her previous books. Like others I was a little hesitant at first for her to write a contemporary story, but this was an awesome job. Don't agree that Laurant was weak. She is strong and willing to put life on the line to catch the killer. I do agree with the one person who said the book felt rushed at the end. Would at least have liked them to go back to Holy Oaks and tie the knot in front of the nosy Lorna! That would have shown her up real good. I read it in three days. It was very hard to put down and now am in the process of writing Ms. Garwood to see if she has plans for making this a movie. I think it would be great! John Malkovich would have to play the killer of course. GO BUY/BORROW THIS BOOK. Its well worth your time.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Good suspense Review: A good suspenseful book, a change of pace for Garwood, I LOVE how she brought a Claybourne back in this book, I'd love to see a book about him.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Disappointed Review: If your thinking of reading a julie garwood book I would recommend any book other than this one. I've read all of Julie Garwoods books and this book is not one of her bests. What i love most about her books is that they can make you laugh out loud, cry, and feel every emotion that the character is feeling. She has a historical suspense book called The Bride, which is way better.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Pretty Good Review: I like this book. It was worth the price (I got it 40% off and autographed!), but I did have a few minor problems with the book. I thought the plot about the killer was well written, but I would have preferred more romance. Garwood is still a dependable writer and I look forward to any more contemporary novels she might write. There are quite a few sequals she could write from this book alone (Noah, Nick's brothers etc.) I would recommend reading this book, but don't expect it to be very similar to her other books.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A must read Review: Julie Garwoods must anticipated first contemporary novel was worth the wait. She hooks in the reader from the first chapter and keeps you hanging on to the end.Anyone reading a Garwood book for the first time will love. But this book is extra special for the ones who have read her wonderful novels in the past. They will understand the connection once they read and get involved with the characters as only Julie can make you do.She is one of those rare authors that you can't wait to see how it ends but are left not wanting the book to end.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: disappointed Review: When I read a Julie Garwood novel, I expect strong, believable, and admirable characters. I also expect the characters to be be interesting and unique. With Heartbreaker, I thought that the characters were not any of these things. The dialogue was typical rather than using her usual wit, and the characters were trite. This could be because I usually read a lot of contemporary suspense novels and I was sad that my favorite historical writer gave up on the genre. For whatever reason, unlike all of her other novels (I particularly recommend Honor's Splendour), I was not gripped or entertained.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Electrifying? Review: A blurb on the cover of Heartbreaker describes it as being "electrifying". Not to me. I like my thrillers to thrill, my romances to be romantic, and my suspense novels to be mysterious. To me, this book was none of the above...I found this book very boring...None of the characters add thrills, suspense, or romance to the story. And, never for a moment, was I excited, terrified, or immersed in this book. I've read Ms. Garwood before. Her male characters are usually charismatic, her heroines entertaining, her love scenes, sexy. I saw none of that, in this book. To me, two stars may be high. But, the book has a good flow, and the writing itself, is fine...
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: What is it you people want? Review: In response to the one and two star reviewer, I would just like to ask...what is it you people want. We are reading fiction here...escape fiction. I just finished reading this book, it is now 0239 and I am regretting the fact that it's over. No, the book isn't origional in it's plot. Name one book that is. Face it folks, everythings been done and the only thing left is to put a little twist on it, and make your readers feel emotions. I laughed out loud and found the romance sweet. It wasn't as sweaty as I like it, but it was a great ESCAPE read. I do wish though, that the ending hadn't been so abrupt. I agree that it makes you look for another few chapters to tie everything up nicer. For a first foray into contemporary fiction, I think Garwood has done an admirable job. I was beginning to wonder there for a while...the rose trilogy just was below par, no two ways about it, but she is redeeming herself in her last two attempts. I read for pleasure, and I read to get away from life for awhile and enjoy ...I enjoyed this book. Simple as that!
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Could have been great Review: It started out great...but my interest faded three quarters of the way through. I mean you just new what was going to happen. More surprises needed...more suspense...this was to predictable.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A thrilling romance with a who done it twist. Review: Something new from Garwood. She has created a thrilling new book that will keep you quessing until the end. If you read closly you see a name that all Garwood readers will remember. Enjoy!
