Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: In Love With Judy Review: For every Jusy Garwood fan this is a must read. Way beynd her normally brilliant standard, Heartbreaker is a fine novel. Filled with many spine tingling turns and heartfelt romance, you cannot help but lvoe the new characters created as well as characters linked to the past. (hint Clayborne)
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Whatever happened to Julie Garwood? Review: All my Garwoods are spotted with pool water, bath water and coffee. My daughters and I love these comfort books--they probably have calories. The three of us have shared some hilarious Garwood book reviews. OK, it's not the Bible or even Shakespeare, but Julie is our best friend; we know what to expect. We're not quite sure just what it is about Garwood's medieval Scotland that hits the spot but it really does; no man could ever understand.Heartbreaker is a departure -- a stalker story that Grisham and others have done already, and much better. The characters are mere sketches. We know that Julie can make her people quite real (at least until the story is over). Heartbreaker's Laurent is not believable or lovable. Nick would be much better in a kilt. If there was humor tucked in there, I must have missed it. Better luck next time.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Spine Tingling from Beginning to End! Review: Fabulous! I could not put this book down. You can feel the hair on your head and arms raising from the minute you sit in the confessional until the very last pages of this great book. HEARTBREAKER worked so well for me because Ms. Garwood made me feel as if I was each of her characters and was living this story. Not too surprising. Julie Garwood's character development is always superior.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Romantic suspense at its best. Review: Father Thomas Madden had enough to worry about with his cancer, he didn't need someone in his confessional threatening to murder his sister, Laurant. Panicked, Tom calls his longtime best friend, FBI agent Nick Buchanan, for help. Nick arrives to protect Laurant while another friend, Noah Clayborne, guards Tom. Laurant insists that she be actively involved, setting a trap to keep other women from being victims. Laurant and Nick must pretend to be lovers. Guess I missed something or saw something the other reviewers missed, because I adored this story. A wonderful taut tale of suspense and romance. This, folks, is how it is supposed to be written. And to have a descendent of the Claybornes also involved is an added delight. Now let's have Noah's story.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The best of the best... Review: This is the best of Garwood to date. The reader is engaged with all the characters in the first chapter of the book. The story flows fast and furious throughout the complete book. The characters appear so real and alive. Garwood has created a story of madness that is quite real. Interaction of all the characters, from the old bitty sisters to the sheriff trying to protect his crazed son to the main characters of Father Tom, Laurent and Nick makes the book impossible to put down. Ms. Garwood's new writing in the modern world is as good as her excellent historicals.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Remember Brodick! Review: I started reading this book three times before I actually read it. It took a while to catch on to what I was reading. I love a good mystery. I love Julie Garwood and all her other romances. My mistake in the beginning was interpreting Nick Buchanan (as in Brodick from the Secret and Ransom)as John Stanford's Lucas Davenport and Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch! I had to re-read The Secret (by Ms. Garwood) to remember Brodick's quiet and quirky sense of humor to give Nick his due! After I started the fourth read -- The characters were more enjoyable and I got into the swing of it and enjoyed the novel! I can't wait for Noah's story (I hope!).
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Enjoyable read. Review: I enjoyed reading this latest novel by Julie Garwood, "Heartbreaker." I was a little disappointed that it was set in the present instead of her usual historical themes. However, once you got into the story, it was not disappointing. I truly enjoyed the insert of the character Noah Clayborne. I can't wait for a story to be written about him! It is always fun to read about beloved characters and their ties to new ones. I think that you should try this book. It won't disappointment you.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Not Up To Her Usual Brilliance Review: I am an avid fan of Julie Garwood and have reread her books many times. I found this book very slow going for at least the first half. Except for the fact that Noah's last name was Clayborne and Nick's was Buchanan nothing else about this book was memorable. I actually gave this book to away after I read it which would normally never happen to (a)hardcover book or (b)Julie Garwood book. I sincerely hope Ms.Garwood next writes a period piece in which she excels so marvelously.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Okay, but not her best Review: I have been a fan of Julie's for many years, but I must admit, I was also disappointed by this book. Although the plot around the killer was very good, something was missing in the love story between the two main characters. Another novel of Garwood's with a good plot, but with character connection is "Saving Grace" or "The Lyon's Lady." Either one of those would be a better start to see what Julie is about then this new work. Sorry Julie.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Another sadistic killer Review: I mean, what is up? I enjoy Julie Garwood's books, or at least, used to enjoy them. Her last few books have been an extreme disappointment and this one clinched it for. It's very unbelievable. I find the love that "blossomed" between Laurant and Nick so unrealistic; the descriptions and dialogue were juvenile....this one isn't even worth borrowing at a library. A total waste of time. I don't know about you fellow readers, but reading about sadistic killers brutalizing women isn't my cuppa tea.
