Rating: Summary: Great Book! Review: Is It A Crime was a great book! Fast paced, and refusing to let you put it down. Roy did his thing with this book!
Rating: Summary: Is It A Crime Review: Is It A Crime was an exciting adventure for me. As I read this story, I was captured from the first page. My life blended with the characters. I felt their emotions. Is It A Crime was very realistic. I could not gotten any closer if I actually was part of the drug dealer lifestyle. It was thug life accented with style and class. Mr. Glenn has the ability to usher the reader into the storyline with characters you can actually see, feel and taste. They are armed to have you cracking up one minute and ready to give a royal beat down in the next moment. It is then you return to your senses and realize that you've been caught up in an outstanding plot. I'm very impressed with the relationships that Mr. Glenn was successful in creating. Everyone had an agenda and a purpose for existing. I felt like I was a Cassandra "Shy" Sims looking for my very own sexy Mike Black. If you want a "Total Package" reading experience, this is the one, you won't be disappointed. Alecia Goodlow-Young
Rating: Summary: This is the Good Stuff Review: Is It A Crime? is a darn good book. I loved the hero, the heroine and the fast paced story which had enough twists and surprise turns to keep me happy. Some books make you skip around until you get to the good parts this whole book is is the good stuff! Kimberley Lindsay Wilson, author of 11 Things Mama Should Have Told You About Men
Rating: Summary: Excellent Reading!! Review: It was wonderful to read a book that involves a positive, loving relationship between an African-American male and female. The characters are well educated, intelligent, full of love, desire and respect for each other. Additionaly, the storyline is full of excitment and suspense keeping you guessing until the very end.
Rating: Summary: I would not recommend this book Review: It's not everyday that I write into an on-line Bookstore to give my opinion, but I couldn't resist. I was given this book by a co-worker months ago. As an African American I found this sort of book to be a disgrace. We need to have positive characters, and not the likes of the people who dominated this novel. I realize it's only a book, but we all, including Mr. Glenn need to take some responsibility for what's written about us, and for us. No I do not, and will not recommend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: LA LA LAND FOR THIS ONE Review: Most of the previous reviewers must be friends, family memebers or the author himself. I'm rating this book a very low score so the public will be forewarned before spending any money on this novel. I found the book gave a distort look at the life of crime and the streets. Any REAL gangster; myself included finds this kind of story line the product of an over active mind with no REAL street knowledge....something that White Hollywood would write. In time and some LUCK, Mr. Glenn hopefully can over come all the cliches and write a REAL story.
Rating: Summary: A Real Love Review: Mr. Glenn has given us a story that is breathtakingly different and yet delivers a "knight and shining armor" ending. While the lifestyles of the key players are not your average humdrum day to day lifestyles, it provides an adventurous backdrop. Mike Black is displayed as a deep, no nonsense brother whose strong side is as appealing as his physical attributes. His immediate attention to Shy and the intense romance that is obvious almost from the beginning holds your attention until the end. All of the characters add color to this intriguing story and at the conclusion your left wanting more. Obviously Mr. Glenn has done his homework and tapped into the sensitive side of the black woman and delivers a novel that speaks volumes. I am sure that this master storyteller will be hitting the scene again with his fresh, new literary approach. His style is truly commendable. Hats off to you Mr. Glenn! I'm definitely a fan for life.
Rating: Summary: Excellent character development..... Review: Newcomer Roy Glenn, speaks in bold language, and provides the canvas for an exciting and often time shocking journey thru the lives of two of the most well developed and thought-out characters to emerge in many a similar novel. A thoroughly enjoyable and believable tale. I recommend it highly.....
Rating: Summary: A GREAT ESCAPE!!!!!!! Review: Once I began, I found myself instantly a part of the characters lives. I understood them, could relate to them, traveled with them, and cried for them. Roy Glenn definitely has the gift to take one away.
Rating: Summary: Mike Black over Tony Saprano any day of the week Review: Reading "Is It A Crime" Started me on an endless journry in hopes of finding a clone of my own "Vicious Black". The author uses such detail in character description that no matter what Mike's past was, he's emerges into the perfect romantic leading man. Way to go "Shy", I envy you.
