Summary: Might be my favorite in the Navy Seal Series
Review: I agree! WOW! Another winner from SB for me! I thought Tom Paoletti to be sexy as "all-get-out!" and Kelly Ashton perfect for his equal! This is one of those books that has a half-a-dozen things going on at one time. You can't get bored with it and the tension between the girl and guy is sooo strong! You can't wait to see what is going to happen next.

Kelly Ashton is the girl-next-door from Tom's youth who is now a pediatrician that has returned home to stay with her father while he is slowly dying. She is still on call but trying not to work as many hours so she can be home for her dad. During their youth Tom was the "bad boy" that all the girls were crazy for- the one with a reputation. Kelly was a good bit younger but had a crush on him hoping that one day he would look at her as a young lady instead of a tom-boy. She had it so bad that she would climb up into her tree house which had a perfect view into Tom's bedroom. Imagine the view she had. ha, ha!!! Well, she is no longer the tom-boy but a beautiful, intelligent, professional woman who can hold her own- but still wants to hold Tom Paoletti.

Tom Paoletti is Lt. of the Navy Seals. He is on medical leave after receiving a head injury during one of their recent missions. So he heads home to his uncle's house where he was raised- pretty much the only family he has except for his sister and her teenage daughter. Tom has changed too from the infamous "bad boy" to a well respected position of LT. over the Navy Seals. When Kelly discovers that Tom is back in town after years of being gone and still single- and Tom sees Kelly for the first time in years, my how she has grown, and discovers she is unattached (divorced) sparks start to fly! And there is no one-sidedness to this relationship. They can both carry their own. But neither wants to have a serious relationship--- they think! Tom because of his career and Kelly because of her career and heart. But the passion is just too strong - feels there were there a long time ago but were put away now come to surface.

Then you have everything going on around them like - Tom's uncle and Kelly's Dad are best friends and having to deal with the issue of death in the near future. Then there's Tom's niece finding a someone that cares for her and not just her well stacked body. Then there's the terrorist that Tom recognizes who is wanted by the FBI - what is he doing in a small New England town. And it just goes on from there. There's not a dull moment.

Well, it's just a book you need to read for yourself. A keeper for me! Now I am looking for Frisco Kid's story. After his name and circumstances being mentioned by Tom (Unsung Hero), Blue (Navy Blue, and Joe (Prince Joe) I want to see what his story is- bet it will be a good one!

Summary: MOST EXCELLENT
Review: I am more than impressed! You have read the other reviews so I won't bother. But I thoroughly enjoy stories about the Military - there is just something breathtaking about a uniform -- too bad some of the guys don't respect theirs.

These stories so far have turned out to be more than first rate. And I shall continue to collect all of them [Navy SEALS].
The writing is excellent although my pet peeve always seems to show up -- can't they get away with no sex before marriage???? What is it? No self control?

Still the story in itself is to be Recommended and will always make a good rereading. Hope Tom and Kelly show up in another book. Like to hear what happens further with these guys.

Summary: Brockmann keeps getting better!
Review: I bought this book when it came out, and made the awful mistake of letting it linger in my TBR ('to be read') pile. Never, never again will a Brockmann book sit on that pile for more than a day!

THE UNSUNG HERO zips along, taking three separate stories and weaving them into one dizzying finish. The characters are complex, and you'll find yourself flipping pages as fast as you can to see what makes them tick and what happens to them next.

I can't recommend this book highly enough. It was selected as the Romance Writers of America's Favorite Book of the Year for 2000, and it's easy to see why.

Summary: Way to go, Suzanne!!
Review: I have been a big fan of Suzanne Brockmann's since reading her Navy Seal novels. I've gone back to purchase the older ones and now have the complete set. I always wished that they wouldn't end so quickly. My wish finally came true! This is her best work yet in my opinion. The characters come off the page with life. The plot and sub-plots keep you involved in the storyline until the bitter end. Tom and Kelly are childhood friends who never pursue a relationship due to their age difference. When Tom comes home to visit his uncle and to recuperate from an accident during a Seal mission, he doesn't expect to see Kelly. She's home to care for her father who is terminally ill. To complicate matters, Kelly's father and Tom's uncle who have been best friends for over 60 years are fighting and they don't know why. Throw in Tom's teenage niece who has typical teenage problems and this makes for a very poignant story. Everything was believable and the characters interacted well with one another. The romance scenes were great also. I didn't want this book to end either, which is a testament to good writing. I hope Ms. Brockmann continues to write more mainstream novels, particularly those involving Navy Seals. Those men in uniform will get you every time. I can safely say that this one is a keeper.

Summary: A Must Read!
Review: I have been a fan for a long time (so I am biased) but this is Suzanne's BEST BOOK YET! She has it ALL in "The Unsung Hero" - romance, suspense, super historical and contemporary research, multiple storylines and wonderful 'wrap-ups'... such an incredible book! I am a voracious reader and my husband said that he hasn't seen me so worked up over a book in a long time - so that's saying something about how great it is!

As other reviewers have commented, connecting two contemporary and one historical romance storyline makes for some challenges for the author and she handled it excellently! I especially appreciated her touch with David & Mallory and how she helped them get through their negative beliefs about themselves.

I will anxiously await the next book from Ms. Brockmann and recommend her titles to anyone who would like to read an engrossing storyline that has both romance and suspense.

Summary: Love, Suspense and Mystery - What More Could You Ask For?
Review: I have been reading all of Suzanne Brockmann's novels now for the past month. What an intriguing writer she is. She so carefully weaves all her personalities, both the stars and the support characters, into a wonderful story with so much depth and emotion. In addition, her flash backs to the World War II era are wonderful history lessons. This one was the first of her "SEAL" books that I read and it was simply great. I was able to identify with all the emotions of both Tom and Kelly. Go get all of her books, you will not be disappointed!!!

Summary: Superb.... entertaining read.. forget about watching movies
Review: I have not read Suzanne Brockmann in years the last was her Tall Dark and Dangerous series when it was released in the UK... This is the first novel I have read of hers since then .... and I found wonderfully entertaining so much so - that I had to finally drag my self to bed and 3.30 am - and finish the rest the next day... I love the fact that as in her silloutte series her story revolves around all the characters and not just on the to main ones.. I had tears in my eyes and lump in my throat when Kelly walks in on Tom when he is sobbing his eyes, out.. I always turn to mush, when I see a man cry... very emotional.. I cant wait to read THE DEFIANT HERO.. and I am starting this next... EXCELLENT..

Summary: This book was good...but not great!
Review: I have read almost every book Suzanne Brockmann has written. I have loved everyone of them. I do have my favorites, and unfortunately Unsung Hero is at the bottom of my list. My reasons: The central story about Tom and Kelly was wonderful. Even the secondary characters were interesting. However, the World War II flashbacks were not needed. There was enough going on in the book without having to relive Tom's Uncle, and Kelly's fathers flashbacks repeatedly. It interrupted the flow of the book. It took me out of the story and I had to actually put the book down because of boredom. I finally started skipping over those parts. A sure sign that the writer has lost me. Overall I would give this book a C+. I would actually love to see a book about the other two secondary characters, David and Mallory. Now that could be a great story.

Summary: Absolutely wonderful!
Review: I have read most if not all of Suzanne Brockmann's books and out of all her books, her SEAL books are my favorite. This is just another one to add to my collection! Tom and Kelly's story is wonderful and I love the added aspect of David and Mallory's story. I found it refreshing that she added two misfits into the story and showed us that there is someone out there for everyone even if you are not drop-dead gorgeous and how we need to look beyond the surface to the person inside.

I also enjoyed learning about Joe and Charles' story and what the big secret was that they didn't want known.

All in all, this was a great read. This book had me laughing and crying at the same time. I couldn't put it down and finished the book in one day! I can't wait for the sequel!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Perfect!
Review: I laughed. I cried. I loved all the people in this book. It was perfect.
