Jim Beckett is one of the most chilling killers I have ever read about. This man is pure evil. J.T. Dillon, a burned out ex-marine becomes Tess Beckett's savior. This book has it all. Evil, suspense, a suitably tortured hero and a terrified young woman. Once you pick it up you won't want to put it down. This is not a book for the faint hearted or those who like their novels light and fluffy. This is a story that is both terrifying and touching. Read it!!

Review: After reading this book, I have been paitently waiting Lisa Gardner's next book. This book was so acurate in it portrayal of a psychotic killer .Lisa's research was down to a tee. I have been in law enforcement for over l6 years and I hope to never encounter such a individual as "Beck".

Review: Nerve shattering - this novel keeps you on the edge and flipping the pages. Tess realizes to protect her child and herself, she's got to do something. Jim Beckett is a very dangereous man. Tess turns to an ex-marine for help. Tess is forever haunted in her dreams by Jim whom seems to be haunting the police as well. Jim is very very manipulating. He somehow manages to escape from prison and Tess is his target! All I can say is "RUN" Tess. He's coming.

Review: This book was recommended to me, but I have to say that it took me about 6 months to actually pick it up and read it. I was stuck on a long airplane flight and decided to begin this book. I didn't put it back down until I was finished. It is very gripping and a great read. Don't wait until you don't have anything to read -- get it today.

Summary: The Perfect Husband? More like "The Dysfunctional Family"
Review: I read the reviews after this book was recommended to me and I expected an unstoppable read. It did start out very well making me think of Dean Koontz' - "Intensity", but as the story progressed the main character - Tess/Angela/Theresa became a sub-plot and the story behind Marion (raped by her father), her brother J.T. (ex-marine, alcoholic, married his father's girlfriend and adopted his half-brother) and their brutish/insestuous father (who was dying of cancer) became the focus the rest of the story until the end when -- (Well, I won't give that away) All in all it was a good story, but remove a lot of the story conserning Marion/J.T. (except a sufficient amount so that they are not flat characters) and focus on the real story (Tess and her psychotic husband Jim) and you'll loose well over 100 pages. I purchased it used and I enjoyed the afternoon hanging out on my deck in the sun, but I would not recommend purchasing this at a hardbound price.
