Rating: Summary: Suspenseful, Suspenseful, Suspenseful!!! Review: The Morning After grabbed me from the first page. Not quite as chilling as The Night Before, but still eerily suspenseful. Not much of any romance in this Romantic Suspense, but still a great suspense novel. It really makes you think that they should put latches on the inside of coffins regardless of their main purpose. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I would have given it five stars if not for the lack of romance. I just found it a little hard to believe that they could fall in love after only a few makeout sessions. Even those didn't come until half way through the book. All in all, it was good.
Rating: Summary: SOFASAVE Review: The murder plots were fine, but it was the lack of any sex between the two main characters that killed this book for me.
A few phrases "rock hard", tight ass, fiery green eyes, and TWO kisses between Nikki and Pierce didn't cut it. The serial killer "The Grave Robber" was given more thoughts of sex than the journalist and the cop.
Rating: Summary: Pretty good Review: This book had a lot of suspensful moments, but not enough to make it a great suspense mystery. The heroine was a newspaper reporter and it seemed as if the author really wanted to bash the media. Reed, the cop, was interesting. Serial killings were over the top. Enough already!!! I really didnt care for the main characters overmuch.
Dont think I will try another Lisa Jackson book.
Rating: Summary: was this supposed to be funny? Review: This book has an interesting premise but all of the characters are one dimensional. The dialogue is bad but is nothing compared to the inner monologues. At one point the heroine says that there is no way she should find the hero attractive, She says "You have to be joking" Of course you know they are bound to be together from page 1 if not earlier. This isn't a good book even for it's genre.
Rating: Summary: Astonishingly bad ... Review: This is a terrible book. There are several problems I had with it:1) Way too many characters -- and they are virtually indistinguishable in tone and voice. Not only that, I never became attached or interested in any one of them. 2) The book uses, inexpertly at that, every single cliche in this genre -- amnesia, serial killer at large, etc. I could add a few more -- but don't want to spoil it for anyone. 3) I could see the "surprises" in the book coming a mile away. There was nothing at all that I didn't see coming. 4) The romance aspect, perhaps because of the vast number of characters, was unconvincing and downright creepy. Again, can't say more without spoilers. This book barely held my interest. I would not recommend it to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Best Book I Have Ever Read!!!!!!!! Review: This was one book I could not put down. I thought it was suspenseful, exciting, romantic, when I kept thinking I knew who the killer was, it took a turn and kept me in the suspense, I never did figure out who it was.
Rating: Summary: A Strong Suspense Novel!!! Review: This was truly a strong suspense novel. I realize that it's billed as a "romantic suspense" but trust me there is hardly any romance to be found in these pages so those of you that are scared off by the idea of romance will be safe in picking up this title. There were a lot of character's but I don't think there were so many that one could not keep track of what was going on. Really I feel that each character did play it's part in the telling of the story. Someone is going around killing people by burying them alive with a dead corpse. Why? How are they connected? These are the questions that haunt Detective Pierce Reed. From the beginning the killer later dubbed "The Grave Robber" draws Reed into his horrid game. Reed knows the first victim. Now it's a race against the clock to catch this killer before he kills again. Nikki Gillette is a hard core journalist. She is after the story that will break and at the same time make her career. She has a bad blemish on her record so she has to work twice as hard to prove that she can get the job done. While working on local interest stuff she also works at trying to scoop not only her co-worker but the competition by getting all the information regarding the Grave Robber. Of course she is also in communication with the killer. He has a bone to pick with her as well. Soon this hard core newspaper journalist, and the tough as nails detective find that they have more in common then they thought. A Killer to be exact. Nikki was an obnoxious character at times and yes, this did get on my nerves after a time. Still the twists and turns that Ms. Jackson took us on was well worth one of her annoying characters. Ms. Jackson is well on her way to becoming a mainstream suspense novelist.
