Summary: VERY Disappointed!
Review: Like another reviewer, I bought this book purely on the blind faith of the author's name. Patterson has not disappointed me in the past, but with "Cradle and All" he has: I read to the end ONLY because I expected it to get better and because I was at the beach and had no other book to read. Sorry I wasted the money on this one! I like the mystery quality of previous Patterson novels and was very disillusioned with the weirdness of this book. I don't like science fiction and don't like super natural stories and this had smackings of both. Mr. Patterson, stick to your Alex Cross stories and I am back with you!

Summary: typical Patterson once again
Review: When I first purchased CRADLE AND ALL, I was dissapointed that it was not an Alex Cross book. I thought that perhaps it would be like HIDE and SEEK which I did not care for at all. I am not really into a lot of the religious beliefs that are discussed in this book, but I was surprised that I enjoyed this book so much. Very scary and bone chilling and almost nightmarish. I read it very quickly and was sorry to have it end, A must read by all means!

Summary: Empty Cradle
Review: As a James Patterson fan, I anxiously awaited Patterson's new novel, which arrived from Amazon last week. I expected another intricate plot, fascinating characters, and hours of entertainment. Instead, I found the Cradle empty. The book is, at best, a short story crammed into 325 pages of weak characters and an unconvincing plot. I was going to send this book back to Amazon, but fortunately (for Amazon) my dog chewed the cover off. The little devil.

Summary: A rerun...
Review: As I was reading this book, I kept getting the feeling I had read this before. In fact, it was driving me nuts. I finally realized I read this story 20 years ago. I re-checked the paper cover and saw a small insert about this book being a remake of "Virgin." Geez...do all prominent authors write reruns and get full price? The story was interesting, but knowing 95% of the ending made the "thriller" seem boring.

Summary: Losing Faith
Review: When I saw this book in the bookstore, I snatched it right up and paid the hardcover price despite the fact that I couldn't afford it. This book was so amateurish, so completely childishly conceived and written, that I put it down in disgust, something I almost never do no matter how bad the book. I feel cheated and deceived by the publisher and the author who both knew this was garbage but would sell on Patterson's name alone. I will never, ever buy another of Patterson's books without investigating it first. Shame on you, Mr. Patterson.

Summary: Great but a liitle fustrating.
Review: I have been a James Patterson fan for two years. I liked alot of his novels,(Including the Alex Cross novels.) and then suprisingly, I found this book. After I finished it, I liked it but it had some major flaws. I have a feeling that James Patterson is going crazy of changing his religion or something. This book was crazy and confusing. It was like watching the movie End Of Days. The characters were great and the setting was great but I don't think that James Patterson fans are going to like to read a religious book. I'm sorry.

Summary: There's nothing new here
Review: I usually read the back cover of a book before I purchase it. However, in the lone exception of James Patterson I refrain from doing that because he always entertains with something new and original and I don't want to ruin the surprise; That is until "Cradle and All." I read this book almost ten years ago. Patterson wrote "Virgin" in 1980. Same plot, same locations, some derivations from the original. Save your money and get "Virgin" from the public library. No more blind faith for me... sorry Mr. Patterson, in the future, I'll review the story and determine if it's something new, before I take out my credit card.

Summary: EXCITING, AND THRILLING...
Review: Two young girls discover they are pregnant, one in Boston, and one in Ireland-even though they are both still virgins.

Authorities are stunned by the overwhelming number of strange occurences reported from cities all over the world...epidemics, floods and worse. These are the signs of what is coming.

Anne Fitzgerald is the ex-nun turned private investigator, hired to investigate the strange immaculate conceptions.

Anne races to get answers, and the closer the girls get to delivering their babies, the closer they get to danger...One child will be the spawn of satan, and the other child our savior.

The story unfolds at a fast pace, bringing new possibilities with each plot twist.

James Patterson keeps us guessing all the way through the novel, and the climax is a shocker.

Fans of the "Alex Cross" novels may be disappointed, but give the book a chance, it is well written, with all the suspense Patterson's fans have come to expect.

"Cradle And All" is a re-working of an early novel entitled "Virgin". This is a different genre for Patterson, and he handles it well.

Summary: Cradle and All
Review: In my opinion, Cradle and All, will be enjoyed by female readers, more than male fans, of Patterson. I liked it alot. It is about good and evil, but, not too scary or offensive. It is quick and interesting reading. This is about the Catholic Church---but, whatever happen to though shalt not Kill.

Summary: What Pace! Typical Patterson!
Review: Cradle and All is a classic thriller: unbelieveable pace, likeable characters, a thin line between good and evil, and of course the inevitable twist ending. Featured in this novel is a popular theme as of late; the second coming of Christ. Two supposed virgins conceive--the only problem is which one carries the anti-Christ and which one carries the child of God? You'll never know until the end, but do you really even know the outcome then? If you love books that actually leave you breathless with suspense, then Cradle and All is definitely for you. Footnote: This is an all night reader! I finished in 8 hours!
