Rating: Summary: A in your face story with a break-neck speed Review: I'm a die-hard James Patterson fan and I would like to say this book wasn't at all what I expected. I think this book had a great plot and ideas but after reading the book I'd realized some of it was a bit chessy. James Patterson has a way of writing that when you read his books you are so involved that anything that you read might be ridiculous end up fitting into the story very well. The idea of two pregnant virgins of emaculation conception, one having the child of Christ and the other of Lucifer was, in my eyes, surprising!! To be honest, I feel the ending could of been better. Other than that, I can't wait for the continuation of this story
Rating: Summary: Very Entertaining - Sequel? Review: I really enjoyed this book. I had my doubts, as I have previously only read the Alex Cross books, but if you keep an open mind, this is a great read. I do agree with some of the other reviewers about the ending. It has a good idea, and I would love to see a sequel (hint hint Patterson), but it seemed very rushed and too short. I would have liked to see it just a little more developed. Just keep in mind when reading this that it is very different from his Cross books, and I think you will enjoy it. Frankly, I found going back to this book a nice change from some of his more recent books which seem rushed and deadline driven (2nd Chance, Violets are Blue).
Rating: Summary: Not typical Patterson.. Review: I read this book only because I've read just about all of James Patterson's book but I wasn't really impressed. The whole supernatural feel of the book wasn't quite what I had expected. I'm a fan of Patterson (Alex Cross series) but this one is definitely not staying on my top 20 list of keepers. Sorry Patterson.
Rating: Summary: or 3 and a half Review: In my opinion this book is an amazing example of what happens when a great story gets overrun with shallow characters and average writing...yes,I found it too be a decent read and quick enough(read it in one day),but I couldn't get over the notion of how much better it could have been, had the writer bothered to spend any time whatsoever developing the characters...and as the other reviewer mentioned what happened to Anne's age? how can a mistake like that be overlooked? few nice twists and surprises, though, even a sequel potential...which I'd probably read too,so I probably shouldn't complain too much about the book:) to those who LOVED the book,I can reccomend checking out the movie Prophecy and it's 2 sequels
Rating: Summary: IT surly was a thriller Review: "Cradle and All" By James Patterson was a good super-natural kind of story. Though, the pages were short, the book still kept me on wanting to get to the end. I couldn't put it down! It certainly kept me guessing who is a 'true' virgin our of the two girls. The whole plot was spooky, with everything going on. The ending sure did suprise me, I did not like it. As I got to the last 2 chapters, I thought it was going to end good, but there, unexpected, the last paragraph made me very disappointed. I recommend it for teens and adults who are into thrills and excitements.
Rating: Summary: WOW!! Intense, excellent book! Review: Here's a book that has gotten a bumm rap here on Amazon from some other reviewers. I almost didn't read it because of the negative reviews. I'm so glad I ignored them and read it anyway. This ended up being one of the best books I've ever read.I've read quite a bit of James Patterson -- this book is decidedly different from many that I've read. This is not the usual good guy vs. bad, evil, murderer guy. This is a story about two girls who are pregnant virgins -- one in the US and one in Ireland. It's confirmed that they are indeed "intact" and are virgins. Both are being watched by the Catholic church and it's investigators because it has been prophesied that one child will be the saviour of mankind while the other will be the child of the devil himself. Which is which? Both girls are sweet & endearing, both would seem to be the perfect picture of a virgin mother. This book has the classic Patterson breathless suspense well populated with a good relationship story, peppered with a great good vs. evil plot. You grow to care about the characters and what happens to them. There is that classic Patterson twist in the story as well. Don't miss this incredible story.
Rating: Summary: Waste of time, money and brain cells Review: I love James Patterson. But this book is a HUGE flop. I agree with erickson. The best use for this book is as a door stop. I was so irritated by the hopping from topic to topic and randomness of everything that happened. I didn't want to finish the book, but I wanted to get my money's worth. I'm quite upset I spent the time I did attempting to read this book.
Rating: Summary: Cradle and All Review: My aunt gave me this book and OH man! DID I LIKE IT! It has a thrilling opening story. I read this book a day and a half! and im only 15 years old! I really like the thrill and suspense this book has...it has a really amazing...and scary ending to it that won't leave you hanging but It will make you read the book over again. I really enjoyed reading this book. I recommend it for teens and adults who are into thrills and excitements.
Rating: Summary: Best use -- A Doorstop Review: One of the worst books I have read. The story line is simplistic and disjointed with leaps of logic galore. Do not buy. Do not read. If received as a present, its best use is as a doorstop.
Rating: Summary: A Great Book With A Horrible Ending Review: All in all, this was a pretty good book. It was a little racy at times though. I read this in like, four hours, I just couldn't put it down. It all starts out with two girls who claim their virgins, and the main character Anne is introduced into the story. The true stories of the girls are slowly unraveled as the book goes on, which makes the book so hard to put down. It's great because it is a story about what we all fear, the end of the world. I don't want to spoil the book by giving away the ending, but the ending was just horrible. It was contained in about two chapters, so it was just to short to be really fufilling. Although the ending is surprising, it is just to unconnected and cheesy to be good. Basically, the book is absolutly amazing and it ranks up there with Kiss The Girls and Pop Goes The Weasel but it's spoiled by the ending. I am only thirteen, and I enjoyed this book so it's good for teens as well as adults. I would recommend it to any Patterson readers.
