Rating: Summary: Not to good Review: being a avid Patterson fan, I just grabbed it and read. Some mistake, I found it to be of non-interest and luckily it was short, as was my attention span. Everyone has to experience mistakes, including great writers. This will not change my readings of Mr. Patterson, I will just hope I never encounter another like this one.
Rating: Summary: CAN'T PUT DOWN!!! Review: This book left me in awe. Yes, like most Patterson novels it was twisted, but this one was certainly different and may not be for everyone. It's for those with a VERY big imagination, as most of the story line was unrealistic. But that was the point of the book. You're in another world when reading it with so many twists, and the ending was a total shocker. I couldn't put this book down since I first picked it up!
Rating: Summary: Cradle and All -- James Patterson Review: This may be the worst book I've ever read. Normally I don't write reviews, but I feel compelled to warn others. I literally finished it by a cozy fireplace--and then tossed it on the fire! It wasn't worth saving and loaning out to any other poor, unfortunate souls. The suspense is great--too bad it goes nowhere. There are all kinds of seemingly important hints and clues that add to the mystery but die on the vine. There is zero explanation for why a new deity is going to suddenly come about, nor is there reason given for why the birth immediately ends the mysterious plagues, etc. The ending is so anti-climatic you will regret those few hours of your life which you can never get back.
Rating: Summary: Bought it by mistake but enjoyed it very much..... Review: I thought it was another book about Alex Cross. I have read all the books about Cross. I did not bother reading the back cover to find out what the story was. I did not care as long as it was a Patterson Novel about Cross. It certainly was something different, I could not put it down. I read it in one day. I wanted to know who was baring the evil child and who was baring the holy child. I certainly enjoyed it. I enjoy anything that Patterson writes.
Rating: Summary: Spiritually strange.....uneasy reading Review: James Patterson takes on a new area from his other books that I have read and thoroughly enjoyed, no matter their level of tension. In this novel, the world is suffering many strange occurences, plagues, death, and famine just to name a few. The Catholic Church is brought into this because of the unrevealed secrets of Our Lady of Fatima. According to this secret knowledge, the world is at the edge of being destroyed or saved. This is to be accomplished by the birth of a special child. The question that arises is how will they know this child. Two young girls claim to be pregnant and also claim to still be virgins. Where does the truth lie? Ann Fitzgerald, a private investigator and Nicholas Rosetti, a priest, are thrown together in this whirlwind story, that raises many questions of faith and hope, or the lack of it. They must decide what the truth is and any mistakes may mean the end of all hope for the world. This story was frightening, and while the final secrets of Fatima remain unrevealed, we can only hope that the revelations will be nowhere near this horrifying possibility. Patterson's ending of this book as always is a shocker.
Rating: Summary: This book will have you guessing till the end. Review: Cradle and All was the first James Patterson book that I have ever read. It was one of the best books I have ever read. I had turned away from Romances and decided to check out thrillers and mysteries and was not disappointed. This book will keep you on your toes wondering what is going on and trying to figure out who is going to give birth to the "immaculate" child. And just when you think you have it all figured out--WHAMO! James Patterson knocks you down. The ending is totally unexpected. I especially loved the short chapters.
Rating: Summary: Just Weird Review: Unlike any other Patterson books you will ever read. I am a huge fan of Patterson's Alex Cross stories, but thought that his non-Alex Cross books, such as When the Wind Blows, were interesting. Although this book was a page turner (I finished it in one day), I kept turning the pages to see if the storyline would go anywhere. Patterson touches upon a religious aspect in this book with the two pregnant virgins, one bearing the Son of God while the other bears the son of Satan. The storyline sounded a little too weird for me, but I was willing to give it a shot because it was James Patterson. That was only the beginning of the weirdness as the entire book goes on with a long drawn out story of these two girls' pregnancies with a little side plot here and there. The side plots are not worth mentioning because Patterson throws it in the storyline to make the reader think about who has the "good" baby and who bears the "evil." The ending is even more "weird" that it left me with a collective groan at the end.Definately not the typical James Patterson. I do not believe the religious supernatural storyline is his forte. He should stick with Alex Cross.
Rating: Summary: Not great not horrible Review: I have read most of Pattersons work and I find that Cradle and All was definately not his best work. I get sucked into all his books like I did this one but it was more predictable than anything else hes written. I give it a solid C
Rating: Summary: Disappointed Review: This was such a disappointment! I had enjoyed other Patterson novels, particularly Along Came a Spider, Kiss the Girls. But something went wrong with this one. There was no character development, no depth to the plot. I felt I was reading an outline rather than a novel by a well published writer. I thought this was a silly story and a wasted read.
Rating: Summary: Big Disappointment Review: I ha ve read every book Patterson has written and so therefore did not bother to read the back of the jacket for storyline. I just never could wait for his books to go on sale. This book is not for everybody, so if you are a Patterson fan and expect this to be his usual style, read the jacket first and see if this is your style. I won't give up on him, I will just be careful from here forward.
