Rating: Summary: Another excellent installment... Review: I enjoyed this third Mark Manning mystery as much as I enjoyed the first two. However, start with the first one and read them in order.

Rating: Summary: Couldn't Put it Down Review: I have read all three installments of the Manning series and this is the best thus far. I read the book nearly in one sitting. The charachters are real and interesting. The series has moved from Chicago to Wisconsin which is refreshing and gives the series more room to grow. I am in great anticipation of the next installment. Michael Craft does a great job at keeping the reader interested and leaves us wanting more.
Rating: Summary: Last Chance Review: I have read the first 3 books in the Mark Manning series by Micheal Craft. After the third I went on line to read other reviews and was surprised to read that most liked this book very much. Gay men must be desperate to identify with some respectable aspect of society if they rated this book with any more than 3 stars. Although the book is generally well written with many animated characters that do indeed add to the page turning pleasure, I am absolutely amazed at the complete lack of personality, backbone, opinion, and life that Mark's lover Neil has and at the forced relationship between them. This forced relationship as well as many situations in this book where characters generally act either out of character or unrealisticially discredit what has the potential to be an interesting and well crafted mystery. I understand that Mr. Craft has released the 4th book in the Manning series and I will reluctantly give it a try just to see if he redeems himself by giving some life and reality to characters other than Manning. However, at the first glimpse of a "yes dear, whatever you say dear" from Neil and the book will be closed and Craft will be history.

Rating: Summary: Great series continues... Review: I really like this series and cannot wait for the next book... must say that I figured it out long before the ending, but am glad I was right... next time, try for a little more mystery.... looking forward to seeing what happens next with the custody situation.... it was a little too easy to win this time, as the lady was a complete freak... when is the next book due?
Rating: Summary: so-so, hoping next is better Review: I've read these in sequence, but agree with one review below that this entry was a bit lame. I was able to guess the murderer well in advance. The text seems contains frequent descriptions of perfect meals and perfectly accessorized clothing of the characters; this was very tiresome after awhile, and does a disservice to the gay community by perpetuating the image of gay men as being materialistic and shallow.
Rating: Summary: about michael craft's new book "Body Language" Review: It is interesting how he makes the relationships less than perfect, as they most are. On his new book, I am glad he has made them a happy couple and has concentrated on the mystery side. I think it is neat. I love mystery novels, but I also like happy relationships which the hero can fall on for help. I wish more people would do that.
Rating: Summary: I WISH MY LOCAL SHERIFF WAS DOUG PIERCE. Review: The third in the Mark Manning mysteries is EXCELLENT. The story line is complex and well executed. The primary characters, Mark, Neil, Roxanne, Lucille,(Lucy);and the new characters, Thad, Doug, and Glee develop into mentally tangible figures as opposed to shadows who move through the story. The murder mystery is intriguing, and has a wonderful "twist" which heightens the intensity of the action. I UNHESITATINGLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK. It is fun, smart, sexy, and fulfilling.
Rating: Summary: Craft Scores Another Winner with "Body Language" Review: The third in the Mark Manning series brings our hero "home" as he juggles with career changes, an inheritance, and his relationship with devoted lover, Neil. As is the case of the two previous books, Manning gets involved in a murder mystery that hits closer to home, however: the death of a relative. He becomes one of the prime suspects and must seek to prove his innocence as well as nab the real killer. Neil, as well as Roxanne, are only for the ride. An interesting blend of new characters are introduced who add humor, pathos, and sexual tension in a truly fascinating work. Another added bonus is the change in narrative sytle; this one is written in the first-person style with Mark "telling" the adventure. Although the killer's identity is moderately easy to detect after the book's first third, it is still a fascinating read. For one thing, the reader will never look at khaki in the same manner. I know that I won't
