Summary: Great Book for Vegas Fans
Review: Dice Angel is a great read... After I started, I couldn't put it down and finished reading the book several hours later. Funny, smart, and filled with Vegas action, a GREAT book. Check it out!

Summary: A Hardluck Story with Heart
Review: Brian Rouff certainly has a way with words. What incredible wit and humor! I laughed out loud at times. I loved that this hardluck Vegas story had such heart, and the karmic-spinning craps-flying roller coaster at the end was addicting. I couldn't put it down once I got into the second half of the book. I never thought I'd touch on the purpose of life in a gambling story, but Brian's prose did just that. A triumphant first book for an exceptional writer!

Summary: I'm still laughing!
Review: This was a an ejoyable book to read! It had great humor thoughout (I'm still laughing) with some of the most clever prose that I have ever read. The plot is creative, enticing and meaningful. I was amazed on how well I got to know the characters, each with distinctive personalities and physical characteristics---Rouff made them appear so real! The scenes to this book are easy to visualize and it seems like it would make a great movie. If you've ever been to Las Vegas, it is a must read.

Summary: Great "Las Vegas" Book!!!!
Review: I am a person who reads a lot. I can pick up the Sunday paper with its list of best sellers and I will have often read over half of them! I visit "Las Vegas" four times a year and watch and read everything written and shown concerning it..
This is one of the best fiction books that I have read about the town in a long, long time....I would guess that sometime there may even be a movie or TV mini-series taken from this story..I think everyone who likes easy to read fiction (whether about "Vegas" or not) will enjoy it a great deal....

Summary: Viva Karmic Vegas
Review: I just closed the cover to DICE ANGEL, and lets just say that it was a fantastic book. The second half is just a karmic thrill ride that you don't want to put down.
Our hero is Jimmy D a local's local who owns a bar in Las Vegas. But that is in danger of changing with a vindictive IRS agent ready to relieve Jimmy D of ownership. Jimmy D is about to hit bottom and he is ready to take any steps not to. That is where our Dice Angel comes in.
A quick read, with dialog that is a gem to behold. Jimmy D is an excellent everyman, with with foibles like the rest of us. A good man in a rotton situation, but ready to come out on top. Because, after all he is due.
The ending is a wonderful karmic twist worthy of Frank Kapra. A Great read whether you are a Vegas local, visitor, or anybody.

Summary: Thoroughly enjoyed Dice Angel
Review: I finished Dice Angel a day after starting it, and thoroughly enjoyed the reading. I always appreciate a book that leaves me feeling hopeful, and the "Jimmy D" character of Dice Angel left me feeling just that way.
I also did not expect the ending, which is a feat in itself. I usually am able to figure out endings of most books and movies. Not so with Dice Angel.
My hats off to Brian Rouff for a great book !

Summary: "Dice Angel" rocks
Review: Eavesdropping-quality dialogue, a riot of quirky characters, a local's perspective of a Las Vegas setting... What more could anyone ask in a novel? I felt like an insider, a friend of Jimmy Delaney, as I zipped through the pages. I loved the development of these terrific characters, and I loved their names... I laughed out loud nearly every page; the only other author who has that effect on me is Janet Evanovich... Hmm, I think Stephanie Plum and her grandmother would fit right into Jimmy Delaney's world... There's a collaboration for you! Seriously, this book was a real treat to read; you cannot go wrong with "Dice Angel". Wish I could find a dice angel of my own!

Summary: I Laughed, I Cried
Review: I read this delightful book in one night, unable to put it down! Brian captured the essence and nuances of Las Vegas so perfectly with believable characters and a great story. I loved his on-target descriptions of psychic world. I want more!

Summary: Everyone Loves a Hardluck Story
Review: If you want to read a book that's rich with dialog and ripe with humor, this is the book for you. Get inside the head of lovable loser, Jimmy Delany and laugh at his desperate choices to help turn his life and his fortune around. Dice Angel is a wonderfully entertaining read.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A fun, smart mystery
Review: If you like Lawrence Block's Bernie Rhodenbarr mysteries, you'll love "Dice Angel." Rouff's writing is tight, fast-paced, and intelligent--I'd never have guessed that this was his first book. As far as the character of Jimmy Delaney, he's one of the genres more lovable losers. Can't wait to read another book by this author.
