Summary: Uplifting
Review: During a rescue in the Pacific off San Diego, lifeguard Kelly Jacobs knows she is in trouble as the dangerous riptide threatens to drown her. As her life flashes by, she thinks back to her spouse, deceased Navy SEAL Nick who died in a training accident. She also reflects on how her feelings for Nick's best friend and fellow SEAL Joe "Bear" Baker changed into a deep abiding love and that she no longer is angry with God for taking away her beloved spouse.

In spite of the impossible probability, Kelly expects Bear to rescue her from almost certain death. He saves her life, but she blows their friendship when she blurts out she loves him. However, before Bear and Kelly can even begin to work out their feelings of love to one another and the guilty betrayal they undergo towards Nick's memory, they must deal with the person who murdered her husband.

TRUE DEVOTION is a stirring inspirational military romance that will encourage readers to deal with grief caused by the death of a loved one. The lead characters, especially Kelly, seems so genuine, most readers will feel Dee Henderson modeled her after their own battles with grief and love. Ms. Henderson writes from the spirit and it shows.

Summary: Another Great Book by Dee!
Review: I have read her "Danger in the Shadows" and "The Negotiator" and this book was just as good, just as exciting, as they were. Dee has a real gift for writing books that are so interesting and fast moving that you absolutely HATE to lay them down until you're done. I can't wait for her next book to come out!

Summary: Good, but Confusing
Review: I liked the way Dee Henderson wrote this book. I liked the romance, and how she always put in little short sentences to keep you on the edge of your seat. I got slightly confused about the SEALs and Raider. And the difference between a F-16 and a 24-K. Hey, I'm still trying to learn the difference between a Redwood and an Evergreen. It could teach you a great lesson about trusting and putting faith in God. Over all, I thought that this was a pretty good book

Summary: A great start to the series
Review: I liked this book. I was instantly interested in these people's lives. How will Joe react to Kelly's declaration of love? Like any woman, I am also a sucker for a man in uniform, and Joe doesn't disappoint. I also identified with Kelly's religious struggles. I, too, have found myself merely going through the motions without examining why I am doing these things. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: Even Christians get passionate
Review: I loved the first half of this book. It held my attention non-stop. In opening the story with Kelly stranded in the ocean waiting for a rescue from Joe, the reader was quick to understand her sudden realization that she loved this man. Joe's acceptance of Kelly's love is wonderful and you cheer him on to hurry up and court her for fear that Charles will get to her first. My problem is rooted in the little passion that gets expressed between this couple. They do love each other, but two to three kisses is all that happens. While I realize this is an "inspirational" romance it would be more plausible if Kelly and Joe at least looked or touched each other with more desire. I too have a strong faith and values in what committment and marriage means. I never thought this couple was going to hop into bed with one another before they took their vows, but romance and passion does happen between two people who share a stong faith. Ms. Henderson is a wonderful writer, but my hope for this book was that she could blend the couple's strong faith and a believable passion which would eventually lead to their marriage. I was sorry it didn't do that. If you like a very chaste romance this is it, if you are looking for more perhaps you should try more mainsteam romances. By the way I did think Ms. Henderson did an exceptional job researching the SEALS!!!

Summary: Fantastic!
Review: I planned to ration this book to enjoy over several days, but I could not put it down. Believable dialog and wonderful attention to detail put you in the center of the action. As in all the other books by this author, the characters are a delight to meet and to watch as they develop throughout the story. Between seeing "The Perfect Storm" and reading this book, I may never go into the ocean again...

Summary: Great Story
Review: I really enjoyed this book! As a former military member, I thought Ms. Henderson portrayed the military life very well. It isn't easy being in the military and being in love. A lot of factors come into looking at a relationship. I loved how the two main characters relied on God to get through their tough times. I myself fell in love with this book, the characters and their devotion to their careers and God. Well done!
