Summary: A quick read
Review: Although a little predictable in places, I had a difficult time putting down this book. The pace was quick and writing was very good. Sometime when reading an author for the first time, you don't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised and am ordering the other books in the series.

Summary: Neotiator
Review: This book is well crafted and suspenseful. However, I do have a hangup about the two books that I have read by Dee Henderson.

Sara in Danger in the Shadows is gorgeous. Kate in The Negotiator is described as "too exotically beautiful to make it in undercover work" Why do all her heroines have to be beautiful in a worldly sense? Don't we get enough of that from worldly sources? Also, what attracts Dave to Kate? It seems to be mostly physical. If Dave were truly a mature Christian, he would be seeking out women with spiritual as well as physical beauty. I'd like to see more Christian novels with characters the average man or woman can relate to without all this emphasis on physical beauty.

Summary: Very good read
Review: Though I am NOT a Christian I bought this book on a recommendation. And I loved it! The story is fast-paced and I was really impressed with the research of the writer. The way she described the situation on the airport before and after an exploding bomb was awesome. That is the reason I kept on reading and reading. Ms. Henderson does throw in her Christian believes, but not to an annoying level (for a non-Christian then) so I went ahead and bought the other O'Malley books. I can surely recommend 'Danger in the Shadows' (not an O'Malley book, but the hero of this book Dave is a character in that book).

Summary: Excellent beginning takes you to the end.
Review: Now I'm not normally into romance, whether it be in book or movie format. (At least that's what I tell myself and loudly proclaim to my friends). But with the Negotiator, Dee Henderson managed to grip me with the action side of the story early enough to take me beyond my prejudice. I'll have to get my sisters' reactions before issuing a final judgment, but for now I'll say it's got great appeal.

This is the first in a series on the O'Malley clan, a group of orphans that all adopted each other, changed their names, and became their own family of seven. Kate O'Malley is a top negotiator in hostage situations. During one such incident, she runs into FBI Special Agent Dave Richman. As they begin to come closer through many tough crises, Kate continues to struggle with her faith, ultimately leaning on Dave and her younger sister Jennifer.

I often struggle with those types of books where the woman is dependent on the man to "show her the way." Here, however, Dee Henderson has created a strong heroine, who (like my sisters) could whop any man who says otherwise. She's tough, yet knows where to go for help when it's called for. And the book is all the stronger for it.

Summary: Excellent writing
Review: I just finished this book and had to come write about it. Dee Henderson does a wonderful job of incorporating faith, religion and the budding romance between Kate and Dave. What I loved most was her honest protrayal of faith and religion. Ms. Henderson didn't shove religion down her readers throats like some writers do, she simply said it like it is. Everything mended perfectly together and the the story flowed smoothly from start to finish.

In two words: excellent writing.

Summary: Superb, exciting, brilliant......
Review: I loved the beginning of this book because of the tension inside the bank. Not many couples can say they met during a bank seige! Kate O'Malley has nerves of steel. She has to have due to her occupation of hostage negotiator. This book is a brilliant combination of suspense and romance, portraying also the loyalty and devotion of Kate's 'family'. The ingredient which for me made it extra special was the way Dee Henderson puts across the message of salvation. Don't be put off from reading it though, because it is not an 'in yer face' preachy sermon type of book. It is just perfectly blended in to make it a TOP book.

Summary: Wonderful Book
Review: The Negotiator was awesome. I enjoyed the story. The focus of the family ties and it was one of the best books I've read in a long time. I can't wait to read the remainer of the series. Love, Romance, Suspense, Mystery, Faith, and Family bondage is there anything left out of importance

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Incredible Intense Drama
Review: What is a family? For the O'Malleys it has nothing to do with blood, who as orphans decide to become a family. Each one has a unique talent that serves mankind but their loyalty is to the family. So when one hurts they all do, especially Kate when she learns her sister's secret. Dee Henderson running high on the triumphant success of DANGERS IN THE SHADOWS has returned with her promised THE NEGOTIATOR; delicious Dave's story.

FBI agent Dave Richman finds himself trapped in hostage situation, hidden from the captor but not the police negotiator. All becomes quite complex however, when the negotiator is a woman which terrifies Dave. Yet, Kate is like no other negotiator or woman he was seen before and quickly takes command of the captor with no help from him. What he can't understand is his sudden attraction to her and why that bothers him?

Kate O'Malley. as a police negotiator, had thought that she had seen it all. Of course who would have thought that a cocksure FBI agent would find himself a hidden element in this scenario. Now she has to keep her captor cool and the agent from doing anything stupid. But Dave is not stupid as he quickly realizes that Kate is one exceptional negotiator let alone woman. A woman he wants to get to know more, something that has always eluded him as he cared for his sister. Yet, as he later meets her family he senses that making time with Kate is going to be no easy task. But there are other even bigger hurdles to jump for both Kate and Dave.

Ms Henderson has crafted a vividly intense story of a young woman's search for answers to a child's strange past, accept without fear the love of a man she has come to cherish and how it is all possible when one accepts God's love. This story takes the reader on a incredibly plotted roller coaster ride full of suspense sure to keep the reader's heart in their throat as an especially evil element surfaces from Kate's past. THE NEGOTIATOR is the first of a number of planned O'Malley books; save keeper space because the men and woman of the O'Malley's are sure to learn what being wrapped in God's love means for each of them. Ms. Henderson's work has always been considered gourmet Inspirational Romance, but those who read other romance genre' need only to tantalize their palates with any of her wonderful offerings to learn what a truly gifted storyteller she is.

Summary: Mystery and Romance!!!!
Review: Dee Henderson has done a wonderful job once again. She has some of the most real and entertaining dialogue I have ever read. Her characters really are alive. Dave is really nice and I want the O'Malley's to be part of my family! The danger and intrigue was really well done, nothing clumsy about it, and it leaves you reading and reading because its just too suspenseful to put down. The multitude of names can be confusing. I recommend jotting down the names of the characters-just a few words. I liked the way Christianity was handled. It was important, yes, but it was fairly subtle. Kate's original lack of faith was handled delicately and with skill. I love the scene at the end when she and Dave-can't tell though, can I? I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.
