Summary: A very enjoyable read.
Review: I was a little skeptical that this book would hold my interest. It did, and then some. The book is well-written, very suspenseful, and provides an interesting look at pre-WWII Europe. I highly recommend it, and plan to read the other books in the Zion Covenant series.

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: I've read the entire series and couldn't put them down. I didn't care for that period of history before I picked up this book, but it's taken on a whole new perspective! I've talked to several people who also own the whole series and reread them each several times. This is definitely a book you can't put down--and then you can't wait to pick up the next one! I was able to read during the slow times at work, and found myself running to the book store during lunch so I wouldn't be interrupted when I finished the book--I could just pick up the next one right away. I'm a Thoene fan for life!

Summary: Don't get this (North Star) audio version
Review: Luckily I took this one out from the library. The narrator is HORRIBLE! It seems to me that someone who is going to read aloud a book set in another country would at least find out how to pronounce the place names (he didn't), but this guy couldn't even pronounce English! And when I got to the place where they were performing an oratorio (pronounced to rhyme with Horatio) I really flipped. The story was interesting, but the performance was unacceptable. Don't waste your money!

Summary: Great historical fiction!
Review: Read this book and the four others. Two months later, I am reading the next series, The Zion Chronicles, about the fight in Jerusalem. I can't get enough now of WWII history! This book and the four others taught me so much. I was a little disappointed in the ending of the last book. It was excellent but some characters were not developed to their utmost. A hurried ending. I am just so impressed with these series, and I want another series with these characters expanded. I liked the character of Lucy and I think that she could have been developed more. I feel like these would make great movies- they aren't self-righteous, yet firm in their beliefs as Christians or Jews. Great books!

Summary: Awesome series...A must read
Review: Thank you Bodie Thoene for a WONDERFUL series. I usually don't enjoy reading for fun, but this series hooked me more than ANY other book I've ever read. It has a wonderful intertwining of romance, tragedy, & courage throughout all with the backdrop of historical events. Each chapter's end isn't really an end. It left me begging to know what happened! I couldn't put any of the books down until I finished!

Summary: Awesome!
Review: The books in the Zion Covenant Series are so great! I loved how Bodie Thoene intertwined history with a fictional story. You begin to feel for the different characters and it really helps you understand what the different sides felt like during that time period.

Summary: Great historical fiction!
Review: The story takes place before WWII. Hitler has taken over Germany and has set his sights on Austria. Relive the terror that the Jews and citizens of Germany faced during that time. If you like historical fiction, Bodie Thoene writes some of the best. Her husband, Brock, does the research for the books and their joint effort has produced some of the most interesting books that I've ever read. Her characters are very human and the story line is gripping. You'll cry, laugh and maybe even bite your fingernails - but you won't be bored while reading this book.

Summary: THE GREATEST THRILLER EVER WRITTEN
Review: THE ZION CHRONICLES AND THE ZION COVENANT, ARE THE MOST FASCINATING BOOKS I HAVE EVER READ. THE AUTHOR DOESN'T LET YOU PUT DOWN THE BOOK, EVEN FOR 1 SECOND. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO INTERESTED IN HITLER'S STORY OR WHAT HAPPENED IN JERUSALEM UNTIL I READ THESE BOOKS. VIENNA PRELUDE IS SUCH A WONDERFUL BOOK, THAT I EVEN CRIED WHEN THEY WOULD TELL ALL THE UGLY STORIES OF HOW MANY PEOPLE WHERE SENTENCED TO LIFE AS SLAVES OR JUST SIMPLY NOT GIVEN ANY MORE RIGHT TO LIVE. I MEAN NOBODY HAS THE POWER (EXCEPT GOD) TO GIVE THAT RIGHT AWAY!!!! ELISA IS SO FULL OF LIFE AND SHE HAS A WONDERFUL LIFE WITH ALL HER FRIENDS AND LEAH OF COURSE! BUT EVERYTHING GOES WRONG WHEN HITLER STARTS HIS UGLY WAYS OF "GETTING RID OF JEWS". ELISA WAS ALMOST KILLED, RISKING HER LIFE TO HELP OTHERS ESCAPE THE PRE WORLD WAR II AUSTRIA. AGAIN, THIS IS THE GREATEST THRILLER THAT I HAVE READ IN MY LIFE
