Summary: Formula
Review: "Under cover of darkness" was disappointing after reading his other books. Although the tension begins to build at the beginning of the book, the plot melts into a tired formula--serial murderer, cult-driven, etc. etc. Seattle locales are well-described and provide an interesting setting, but they aren't enough to sustain interest and tension throughout the book.

Summary: Under Cover of Darkness
Review: Another great mystery by James Grippando. Characters keep you interested and wanting to read more. Enjoyed the familiarity with the location. Can't wait for his next book!

Summary: Enjoyably.
Review: But not as compelling and well written has his previous novels. I'd still recommend, because it is an interesting story.

Summary: Under Cover of Darkness
Review: Grippando has a knack for writing suspenseful scenes,
but his novel "Under Cover of Darkness" has too many flaws
to merit recommendation.

The characters are inconsistent and the plot just plain
doesn't work. In fact, this one reads like a first draft of a
novel and is badly in need of major editing.

Grippando has some talent as a writer, but badly need to be
taken in hand by a good editor.

I'm feeling charitable today, otherwise I might have given
this one only a single star.

Summary: A COMPLEX,NAIL-BITER
Review: Gus Wheatley has success, money, power, a loving wife, and a beautiful daughter, until one day his world shatters.

Gus's wife, Beth, disappears.

FBI profiler, Andie Henning, is investigating a series of killings, the strange beginning of a serial killer. As Andie investigates the murders, she believes Beth may be a victim of the vicious killer.

Gus begins his own investigation, and as he uncovers certain "truth's" about his wife, he realizes he did not know her at all.

"Under Cover Of Darkness" will keep you turning the pages and guessing all the way to the end. The twists and turns come fast and furious, pulling the novel to it's shocking climax.

James Grippando has consistently written great book after great book. He has quickly become one of my favorite authors. With his new book he keeps the pace fast while juggling various characters, and shifting the plot twists into high gear. This is great entertainment.

A MUST read!

Summary: Under Cover of Darkness
Review: Gus Wheatley is an identifiable character who focused so much on his career that his family got left behind and then into trouble. When his wife disappears he discovers a whole new life that she had without him, and he realizes that he doesn't even know the name of his daughter's best friend. This book was a page turner and Grippando at his best so far. Hope he writes another soon.

Summary: WHAT A GREAT BOOK!!!!!!!!
Review: Gus Wheatley's wife, Beth has disappeared. Where could she have gone? At the same time she disappeared there have been three bodies of women found that all look like Beth. There were also two bodies of men found that looked like eath other. What is going on? FBI agent, Andie Henning, is determined to find out. If Beth is also dead how do her fingerprints end up on a pay phone? How does their daughter, Morgan, get a secret telephone message from her? If is was from her. Gus and his wife have grown apart over the years and he finds out many things about his wife he did not know. Was she kidnapped, or did she go willingly? Can the FBI get her back alive? This is the first book I have read by James Grippando, I can assure you it won't be the last. I only hope the next will will be as good, it can't be any better. I did not want to put the book down, I carried it with me every where I went trying to find the time to read a few pages. If you like a great mystery, quite a bit of action, a real surprise ending, then this is the book for you.

Summary: LOVED THIS BOOK
Review: Have enjoyed all of James Grippando books but this is the best so far. Great characters work together to try and find the wife of one of the main people in the story. There's many twists and turns and the reader travels through so many routes ,with the characters, until there is finally a solutin to all the plot questions.
I'm always puzzled, after finishing one of his books, why Mr. Grippando isn't right up at the top of the charts where he belongs.
