Summary: I've read better!
Review: After reading Absolutely, Positively, I immediately loved Jayne's style and technique, which made me spontaneously buy Flash. But I was somewhat disappointed. The characters seemed to lack depth. There were too many characters to keep track of! It was difficult to know the main characters since there were not that many descriptions about them. The romance between the main characters did not seem real to me, maybe since the description of the romance was short. The romance was not an explosion but a tiny spark.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Tepid, boring, at best, tepid.
Review: As a devout fan of Janye Ann Krentz, I can't believe how disappointing this book was. Her usual wit was lacking and her characters were cardboard. Even the plot was lackluster; and the romance, nonexistant. If this is an example of her future work, one must wonder what she does all day in that "corner office with the big windows"!

Summary: Flash but no lights!
Review: BAD! Didn't she just do this in a regency novel of hers? The characters...I have met them before...oh yes they are the same in all her books. For heaven's sake doesn't the author get bored cutting and pasting from her old books. AND this is a big AND, did anyone notice how Jasper's ex-wife's name was Andrea in the beginning and became Rachel Sands in the latter part of the book? Editor's just because she is an acclaimed writer does not mean you can do this to US your CUSTOMERS. In case everyone has missed the point WE BUY the books and if the errors are going to be so blaring then they need to have a warning on the book. I hate it when I spend money on a book and get absolutely nothing out of it except grammatical errors, bad storyline and "names" being confused. You get fired for stuff like that at a newspaper. Can I get a refund on my book at least???

Summary: Jayne Krentz delivers another great read
Review: FLASH is yet another terrific read by one of romance's most reliable authors. Yep, we've seen the spunky entrepreneur heroine and the macho-businessman hero before, but Jayne Krentz makes it fresh and exciting every time. If you're a fan, you're gonna love FLASH!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not the best for Krentz - and not a keeper in my library!
Review: For the record, I am a Jayne Ann Krentz fan, and love her Amanda Quick books as well. But FLASH was kind of boring for me. One of the reasons I love Krentz novels is the witty and funny conversations with her characters, however, her usual humour is missing here. The "mystery" blackmailer gets wrapped up too quickly, and seemingly "behind the scenes". It is never really explained how Sloan determines that Dixon was after him on the island, and sent by Eleanor no less. If you're looking for something better by Krentz, pick up Trust Me, or Absolutely, Positively, or even Deep Waters. They meet the "keeper" requirements! I hope the upcoming Eye of the Beholder is better, or I may have to leave Krentz off of my "must have - will keep it in my library" list.

Summary: Flash in the Pan
Review: Forgettable drivel! I keep giving Krentz one more chance to redeem herself and she just can't! I don't mind reading romance that's fast-paced, fun and a bit shallow. Can't always read "keepers". But FLASH was full of characters that had potential but never developed. Olivia and Jasper - so different but all of a sudden in love! Getting married! COME ON!! And too much side line action going on - too many relatives and secondary characters. I think that's enough Krentz. For quite awhile.

Summary: Krentz fans are going to love it
Review: Glow, Inc. designs and builds high-tech industrial lighting fixtures. The CEO Roland G. Chantry employs predominately family members. When he dies in a hot air balloon accident, the family is shocked to learn that 51 % of the stock has been left to an outsider, venture capitalist Jasper Sloan. Roland's niece Olivia, owner of the remaining 49 % of the company, is very upset with the developments.

She offers Jasper a sweet deal in an effort to buy him out, but he rejects it because he feels that his new position will give him the means of getting out of his current ennui. In spite of their differences, Olivia and Jasper agree that the family scandals caused by his deceased sibling and her spouse is safely buried. That opinion changes when an unknown assailant tries to blackmail the pair based on specific knowledge of what occurred. Working as a team, they try to ferret out the blackmailer while gaining the files that contain the damaging information back from! the culprit. This forced camaraderie leads to a realization that they share a lot more in common than mere business.

Jayne Ann Krentz can always be depended upon to provide her readers with what they want in a novel. In FLASH, this talented author allows her fans to escape reality via a complex and oftentimes convoluted story line. The quirky characters and their explosive romance will remind readers of Taylor-Burton I (the CLEOPATRA days). FLASH is another winner added to the illustrious award winning resume of Ms. Krentz.

Summary: Did not like this book at all
Review: I did not feel this book was up to par. This was the first time I did not like a Krentz book.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Boring
Review: I didn't finish the book. It was so boring

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Just couldn't get into it
Review: I gave FLASH plenty of chances. I tried it once, but gave up when a more interesting book came along. I tried it again. Still no headway. Finally, wanting to get *something* out of the money I spent, I skimmed the book. The ideas were there, but the story wasn't. I'm just glad I only spent the paperback price.

Whoever's been masquerading as Jayne Ann Krentz should really be apprehended and put away so one of my favorite authors can return to wow us again. I can't think of another explanation for this recent spate of clunkers.
