Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: Another great book by W. Smith. Never a dull moment. Great heroes, and villians you love to hate.
Rating: Summary: NOT a Story about Elephants and/or Ivories Review: Fast-paced, easy to read, action packed and very thrilling. Highly enjoyable, but I'm a little disappointed. From the title and the back cover explanation, I expected it to be a story about elephants protection and/or ivory smuggling. It is NOT. Ivory smuggling starts the battle between the hero and the villains, but only the start. Soon later, the story develops into a battle over a fictitious small African country and completely aparts from ivories. A little disappointing.

Rating: Summary: An enjoyable and interesting read Review: I felt this book was an easy read. It did deal with some graphic details but these are very much in character with what my impression of Africa is like. I think Wilbur A.Smith is a great advocate for many of the problems in Africa and he is a great advertisment through his books for his country and indeed this is why his books do so well. The story line is decieving when you initially read this book and can grab you in a very graphical way. The story is a little like a roller coaster which has some very step hills and some very quick corners. The story is predictable in a certain way but dosent really tell all because of this. I would recommend this as a read for a train trip or even a plane trip because if you are afraid of travel you would not have time to be scared. An easy but interesting read.

Rating: Summary: THE BEST WILBUR SMITH BOOK Review: If you like Wilbur Smith you will love this book. It is the only book that has made me cry. My favourite book ever
Rating: Summary: Enthralling tale of murder, greed and revenge Review: One Word: Characterization!!! By associating this word with this book, I am not trying to say that the characters are deep and complex, because they are not. As is the case with all Wilbur Smith books, the main character is heroic, valiant, good-looking and compassionate. The villain in this story is despicable, perverted, greedy, murderous and cruel. Wilbur Smith's descriptions of this villian (Ning Cheng Gong) and his sickening deeds and exploits inspire an enraged hatred of him in the reader. You can't wait to get to the end of the book, where he will be mercilessly defeated, courtesy of Daniel (the heroic main character) I highly recommend it.

Rating: Summary: not up to WS Par Review: This book is not up to the standard of the other WS books. The characters lack depth. You don't feel as much a part of them as you do in River God, Sunbird, etc. The yarn is good but but not as believable as others Smith has written. The story falls flat in the middle because of an unnecessary move from Africa to Tiawan. It's still a fun read so don't give up.
Rating: Summary: Great book! Review: Totally awesome story packed with actions and emotions. Even more, Wilbur Smith reflected his deep passion toward Africa and its wildlife deeply in this book. A 5 star rating and a definite recommendation to all wildlife lovers and action/adventure novel lovers.
