It held my interest so much that I did not want to put the book down - I read it within 48 hours. You will really be surprised by this one! The book was so good that I am going to look for other books by this author.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: The reader makes the story Review: I bought this audiobook because it was read by Zeljko Ivanek, a greater actor than is implied by the small bio on the inside. His reading brought a lot to a pretty standard legal thriller. If had been reading it on my own, there is a good chance I'd take my time to get to that "suprise ending." Mr. Ivanek gave each of the around twenty different characters a voice and a tone of his own, and that alone is worth the price! I recommend hearing it for yourself.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A little predictable, but enjoyable nonetheless Review: I listened to the abridged audio book version of False Accusations. It took about 20 minutes for me to "get into" the book, but after that point, I was interested in the outcome. The book is not action packed, nor full of thrills and chills. Instead, it tells a story of how devious some people can be. Towards the end, I figured out who the "bad" character was, but I still listened on to hear my suspicions confirmed. All in all, not a bad read but not the best I've heard. I would however, give the author another chance.

Review: If you like Mary Higgins Clark, Sue Grafton and other great mystery writers, you'll love False Accusations. I couldn't put it down, and I didn't figure it out until the very end. Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A memorable reading experience Review: I read the author interview and was intrigued, so I bought it. Great read! It was a struggle to turn out the lights and wait till the next evening to finish it. It really held me, all the way to the end, which I felt was so breathtaking, I had to read the last page twice! In looking back, it all made perfect sense. Shared the book with a friend, who just ordered a copy herself. Only bad thing is I have to wait till Jacobson's next book comes out.
Rating: ![0 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-0-0.gif) Summary: It could happen to you... Review: Have you ever thought what would happen if you were accused of murder? You'd be exonerated, of course, because the evidence would bear witness to your innocence, right? Everything would be fine, right?Don't be so sure. What if the evidence IMPLICATED you, and the very support systems you thought you could rely on-the police, the district attorney, your friends and family--all treat you as if you're guilty until proven innocent? This is the situation Dr. Phillip Madison faces early one morning when detectives show up at his home with an arrest warrant. In writing "False Accusations," I wanted to explore the emotions a falsely accused individual experiences, the pitfalls of our criminal justice system, and what happens when a confluence of events makes it impossible for such a person to defend him or herself. I was intrigued by how an innocent person would react. How his spouse might react, his children. How the media or law enforcement would treat him. "False Accusations" can be read as a straight-forward psychological thriller, or viewed more deeply, as a reflection of the weaknesses that permeate our criminal justice system. After spending several months immersed in research, I came away with a different view of our judicial system. The most frightening aspect of what I learned is that despite all the safeguards built into our courts and juries and judges, the end result is not always one of justice. And that means that innocent people can be sucked into a vacuum of guilt even when they're innocent. It can happen. Worst of all, it can happen to you. "False Accusations" demonstrates just how easily it can occur. For that reason, "False Accusations" has been called "Riveting" and "Terrific" by bestselling author John Saul, "Chilling," (Booklist), "A fantastic reading experience" (Midwest Book Review), "An edge-of-the-seat thriller" (Review Publishing), and "Unnervingly plausible" (Tucson Weekly). Radio host Bert Lee called it "Fascinating," and The Mystery Reader said it was "A slick thriller, fast-paced..." with "several surprises." See for yourself why Library Journal called "False Accusations" "Essential for suspense and thriller collections." Then write me and tell me what you think. As the readers who've been writing me daily can attest to, I do write back!
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Bland and predictable. Boring. Review: A piece from this writer and a piece from another and it all adds up to boring writing. Sloppily plotted with events happening without cause or justification. Bland. The author's idea of a twist is to change the obvious ending on literally the last page! It's as if the publisher told him that the ending was too obvious -- as it had been for the whole book -- and he decided to just drop another one in. Miss this book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: I Crave "False Accusations" Review: This book belongs in any avid mystery reader's collection. Its got a little bit of what every good book should have: crisp, witty writing, vivid characters you can relate to, an unpredictable plot and a gripping trial culminating in a powerful crescendo mixing a verdict not only on the characters, but on the the American justice system as well. I plow through about a book a week, and cannot wait for the next epic by Alan Jacobson. Bravo to Pocket Books for uncovering this diamond in the rough!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A Masterful Thriller Review: False Accusations is a true nail-biter. You will hang on every word right up to the very end. Dr. Jacobson is a master storyteller. His twists and turns will keep you glued to the pages. Can't wait for his next book.
