Summary: A Romance with a Conscience
Review: Sloane Fairchild has been hurt many times in her life, and has locked her feelings deep inside her, pouring all her energies into opening a bed-and-breakfast inn near San Francisco. Everything she is as a woman is channeled into the inn, which she perfects down to the last detail.

All is going perfectly. Sloane is able to successfully deny her more sensual needs, and take pleasure in her growing business. Until an incredible guest shows up--a man who literally takes her breath away, fight it as she will. Carter turns out to be a best-selling author who needs a hideaway to escape his hectic life and meet the looming deadline for his next book. Sloane is viscerally attracted to him, but fiercely fights it down. Not only is she afraid of involvement, this man is strictly off limits. He is her best friend's fiance.

As the attraction between Sloane and Carter grows despite their best efforts, so does their guilt. Carter is not a lothario, but he is engaged for all the wrong reasons: his fiancee and her two small children have been left behind by the death of his best friend. Lending support and assistance, he found himself offering more. Now that he has met Sloane, he sees the error he has made, but it is too late. He feels he must honor his commitment.

Sloane, now desperately in love, feels the same, and it is almost unbearable. When the two finally make love, having lost their battle to stay apart, the reader is torn as well. Obviously, Sloane and Carter belong together, but is that fair?

The reader is kept on tenterhooks until almost the last page, and the ending is not predictable. This is a lovely romance, one with a conscience, and I recommend it highly.

Summary: This book grabbed my attention right away!!!!!
Review: This was the first Sandra Brown book I read and I absolutely loved it! I had a very hard time putting it down but with 3 children you have to put the book down occassionaly. I am a true believer in love at first sight because that's how it happened with me & my husband we've been together fo 12 wonderful years and we are still madly in love!!!! I enjoyed the whole romantic story line between Sloan & Carter and would read it again and again as well as other Sandra Brown books.

Summary: Read It In One Day
Review: This was the first Sandra Brown book that i had ever read. Once i began reading it i could not stop. I read the entire thing in four hours and i must say it was excellent. It was your classic love story with the a little added twist. Carter was her best friends fiancee! This book really hit home with me. I enjoyed watching Carter and Sloan become one in the sea of love. I don't want to ruin the ending for anyone else, but it will bring tears to your eyes! Since this book i have read 4 other Sandra Brown novels and have enjoyed them equally. Keep up the good work Sandra!

Summary: What fun... being served Breakfast in Bed!
Review: Want a fairly quick read full of sizzling romance- this is it! Single, Sloan is trying to make a go of her Bed & Breakfast. Carter is trying to get his lastest book written before it's deadline. He is to marry his deceased best friend's widow when he is through. Alicia, Sloan's best friend and Carter's fiancee, suggest that Carter get away for a while in seclusion so he can finish his book and they can get on with their lives. Alicia and Carter's relationship is not one of passion and love- oh, there's love there, Carter's love for his best friend's widow and sons who need a father figure and Alicia's love for deceased husband Jim's best friend to fill a void now in her life. But passion, no!

So Carter arrives at the B&B only to discover love at first sight and the same goes for Sloan. But how can Sloan and Carter pursue their unspoken passion for each other with the thought of betrayal to Alicia hunging in the air. Sweet, sweet romance!
