Rating: Summary: Pretty Good Review: This book is definetely not as bad as some make it out to be, and I recommend it for Sandra Brown lovers.Ria and Taylor, a candidate for mayor, meet at a Christmas Eve party, and have a one night stand. Two months later Ria knows she is pregnant and goes to see Taylor, now mayor elect, and demand he marry her. They agree to marry and get a annulment soon after the birth of their child. Ria moves in with Taylor, and they once again become intimate, despite her wishes, and settle into married life. They both learn about each other and grow to enjoy living together. But when complications arise, will their sham marriage survive the strain, or will Ria and Taylor admit to themselves and to each other that they don't want their marriage to be a sham at all? First, I was glad that Ria and Taylor handled the baby situation with such adult maturity, and it made them seem like strong, likeable characters from the start. It was nice to see their relationship develop from sex based to friendship and love. One problem, however, was that they would always argue and then go to bed and make up and that was that. Sex shouldn't always be a tension and anger reliever, but in this novel that seemed to be all it was. I actually did not find the book predictable, although it could be because in my wishful thinking I imagined everything differently. I also thought the ending was wonderful and not at all stupid or corny. It would not have been the ending of my choosing, but then I didn't write the book, and it fit with the rest of the story. This book was fairly good with likeable characters and a good plot with a struggle for the leads to overcome. Better books that I can recommend by Sandra Brown are Led Astray, Adam's Fall, Fanta C, and Breakfast in Bed. Happy Reading!
Rating: Summary: Easy Read Review: This book is such an easy read that it only takes you a few hours to go through it. It does not have much substance but that's fine every once in a while. Taylor and Ria are enjoyable characters. This is definitely a "light" Sandra Brown book.
Rating: Summary: Sandra Brown disappointed me this time! Review: This book was a disappointment especially after reading "Fat Tuedsay", which I loved. "Tidings" was again your typical girl meets boy, girl hates boy, girl thinks about boy, girl falls in love with boy and they end up happily ever after. Can't any author out there think up a story plot with an ending that totally flips your mind? Something you can talk about with other readers for weeks. "Tidings" was only a good fast read around the busy holidays.
Rating: Summary: Not much depth Review: This book was a real disappointment. I never felt as though I really got to know the characters, but considering how cruel they were to each other, that's probably just as well. The only thing on these characters' minds was getting into bed with each other. I would have liked to have seen more detail about their jobs, which would have made the story more interesting. I bought the book because I knew that Ria was an architect and that sounded interesting. I thought that Taylor was particularly insensitive to Ria throughout most of the book, and Ria seemed to say things to Taylor that always made him angry, with good reason. If you're looking for a book with depth, this isn't it.
Rating: Summary: Not Worth Reading Review: This book was not worth the time it took to read it. The beginning was fairly good and to marry until the baby was born was a good idea. However, the ending was so stupid it wasn't worth the time to read. There was too much emphasis on descriptive sex. I'm not a prude, but enough is enough already.
Rating: Summary: Another Great Love Story! Review: This is one of my favorite Sandra Brown books, and one that I re-read most often, because the love story of Ria and Taylor is so far off the beaten track, you can't help but root for them. One night of passion turns into a committment neither of them could turn their backs on, even when all the odds seem stacked against them. They put up a brave front for the sake of Taylor's voting public, and Ria's family and professional colleagues, and all the while they are falling so deeply in love with one another, you can't imagine an outcome that does'nt have them strolling off into the sunset. Be aware though, they do have their share of ups and downs, tragedies and triumphs, but all in all, "Tidings of Great Joy" is a must read for any fan of true romance.
Rating: Summary: let down Review: This is the first Sandra Brown I've read, and it started off really well. It was an easy read and kept me on my toes to see what Taylor would do. But that ending was a let down. Who buys another person a baby? All she wanted to hear was that he loved her. I was surprised it would end so much like a fairy tale.
Rating: Summary: Great for Sandra Brown fans Review: This novel is classic Sandra Brown. I was not as pleased with this novel as I was with many of her others, though I must say this is still an excellent read. For new readers of this author, I'd save this for later. What I have found with experience is her longer books tend to be better. The faster the read, the less satisfying the book becomes. This novel tells the story of how a one night stand on Christmas Eve can change a persons life forever. What I will say is that the stars of the show Ria Lavender and Mayor-Elect Taylor MacKenzie definitely have the best sex life I've ever read about. If for nothing else let that be the reason you read the book! Excellent job by Sandra Brown, though I'd suggest starting with a more substantial book of hers if you've never read her works before. Other than that, another master piece!

Rating: Summary: An "afternoon read" Review: Well, I enjoyed it! It's my first Sandra Brown book to read, but won't be my last. I wanted something fun and quick to read and this was it. I laughed at some things and felt like crying at others. I can see it happening- people getting so caught up in their lives and careers that they get too picky in choosing a mate - well, this was one of those times when due to Christmas Eve Party infatuation the result is a baby. Ria and Taylor (the ones involved) after much discussion decide to marry for reputations sake and legitimacy of the child. After moving in together they get to truly know each other- they realize just how much they enjoy married life with each other. The love bug starts to bite. Disaster hits and they turn to each other to make it through it. But then there is the question as to whether to stay together or end a marriage that was at first based on everything but love. Hey I enjoyed it and I like both Ria and Taylor- but I will agree that the very, very ending was not realistic and that disappointed me. I won't give it away - but she should have ended with the first "surprise" at the end and that would have been grand.
