Rating: Summary: Bravo For Vincent Lardo Review: *This time Vincent Lardo capture the essence of McNally perfectly . It's was an excellent read. Fans will truly enjoy this book.
Rating: Summary: McNally Does It Again Review: Although the author used familiar people in this novel the roles have changed. What a delight when "Archy" solves another crime of Palm Beach. I liked the way it was the McNally family name was challenged and the way he defened the family honor. Even "Binky" finally obtained a full time job out of this ( I would have thought he would never have gained employment). I enjoy reading the novels and the way archie solves them but when is he and Connie going to get married?????
Rating: Summary: As usual, a fun read Review: Archy McNally is my literary weakness. If the series lasts that long, I'll be reading "McNally's Funeral" on the way to my own demise. Nutty characters that just get funnier, a glimpse at a several decade-spanning wardrobe, great dinner ideas from Ursi's kitchen, and the ever present question--will wedding bells ever ring for Connie and with whom? Yes, the plot is predictable, but who cares about the plot as long as we get to see how the rich, famous, and eccentric goof up their lives? Was glad to see Binky finally get a job and I wonder if Archy's dad will ever finish the complete works of Charles Dickens. A perfect beach read, vacation read, light read, in-flight read--whatever you call it, it's lots of fun!

Rating: Summary: Hurray for Archy McNally and Vincent Lardo Review: As expressed by other reviewers, I was devastated too by the death of Lawrence Sanders. I figured that would be the end of the detective books I have come to love. If you are a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, do not read these books. Gratuitous imbibing was part and parcel of Sander's genre and thankfully Vincent Lardo has tempered down all the boozing a little! Even Archy is trying to cut down on his English Ovals! I am very glad that Mr. Lardo has taken up this effort for those of us who enjoyed this light, tongue very well placed in cheek, series. This is light reading and the intention is too entertain completely which it does. Again, many thanks, Mr. Lardo.
Rating: Summary: Lardo's Folly Review: Being a loyal follower of the McNally series, this one makes me miss Mr. Sanders even more. For the first time I struggled through an Archie adventure, not hanging on every word for a clever delivery, but hanging on until I reached the end. The beloved, well developed characters that Mr. Sanders brought to life on the pages of his novels have lost their zest. The chemistry and sizzle between Archie & Connie have fizzled. The Pettibones take a back-seat, as do the Olson's. We can only hope the series continues.....with a different ghost writer or Mr. Lardo tries a little harder to regain the Sanders' touch.
Rating: Summary: Another excellent McNally mystery! Review: Having read all of Lawrence Sanders' McNally Series, I was saddened to learn of his death. Fortunately, his estate has found a writer like Vincent Lardo that has the same magnificent writing talent to continue the Archy McNally adventures. I just received my copy of McNally's Folly and couldn't put it down until I finished it. Hpoefully Archy McNally through Vincent Lardo will continue to entertain us for many years to come.
Rating: Summary: review Review: here's another one of those detective mystery cases... pretty interesting... page turner... keep readers glued to the book even if they aren't mystery lovers...
Rating: Summary: Loving it Review: I am currently reading McNally's Folly. I don't think I have missed an Archy book, and if I have I definitely want to read it next. I have loved following Archy throughout his mysteries. I do, however, think it's time to trade in that shiny, red Miata. Can it still be that shiny? Anyhow, keep up the great work!
Rating: Summary: Mc Nally's Folly Review: I certainly was not impressed with this book written by Vincent Lardo. He is NOT a Lawrence Sanders. The charter of Archie DID NOT sound like the Archie as Sanders portrayed him.. Mr Lardo LOST the Archie character as we readers have found him before. I would not recommend this book with a rating of 5 stars as you have rated it. I don't think I'll read any future books under the pen name of Lawrence Sanders, if Mr. Lardo continues to write them.
