Rating: Summary: A Little Bit of Everything Review: Great characters. Julie Garwood has the gift of making characters real. You feel their sorrow and their happiness. You find yourself crying and laughing on the same page. I have the paperback, the abridged audio and unabridged audio version. The unabridged audio version through Recorded Books is a great way to make a long drive or the commute drive more enjoyable. My favorites books by this author are Saving Grace, The Bride, The Wedding, The Secret and Ransom. Even though the books are not always historically correct, they serve their purpose - the enjoyment of reading.
Rating: Summary: I loved it! Review: Its such an undescribable novel. Somehow, I felt like I'm actually living its events while reading. It had honor, love, dignity and pride all put together, a time well spent.
Rating: Summary: Very good read! Review: I loved "The Bride" and enjoyed "The Wedding". Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed toward the end, as Brenna retreated from Connor and wouldn't see him. I couldn't quite make the full jump as to why and, knowing that they would ultimately reunite, flew through the last pages to get them overwith. Nonetheless, knowing that part, I definitely can reread the book and be happy.
Rating: Summary: An Absolutely Fantastic Novel Review: This novel is great. I could not put it down. I laughed with the main characters, I cried with the main characters. The novel is funny, emotional and I fell in love with all the characters. I have read this book twice and it just seems to get better and better.
Rating: Summary: I loved this book almost as much as "The Bride". Review: I am a diehard fan of Julie Garwood and absolutely loved this book. I loved "The Bride" even more, but "The Wedding" is still outstanding. My only complaint is that Ms. Garwood has yet to write/publish the book about Faith and Quinlan's story. I'm hoping Ms.Garwood will take this as a big hint to get started on the book about Faith and Quinlan's romance. How I do love those Highland stories with their romance and humor.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't put it down! A must read! Review: This is my favorite story of all-time.. the characters were great, I don't think anyone could have written it as superply as Julie Garwood did. Not for one minute could I put this book down, I laughed and smiled throughout. I recommend this to all romance readers.. Trust me, it's worth it.
Rating: Summary: Enjoyed the book, but the audio is very disappointing! Review: I have never chuckled so much in reading a historical romance as I did with this book. I thought the nuiances were great, and the verbal banter entertaining. I was so excited about it, that I bought the audio. I was looking forward to an enjoyable commute to work. How disappointing the audio was. Though not advertised as abridged, when the tape arrived it was obvious that three hours meant abridged. In the tiny print, it was confirmed. Having an open mind, I began the tape. All of the little things that made this book so special were deleted. I can't imagine that Ms. Garwood approved. Buy the book. Don't waste your money on the audio!
Rating: Summary: Another great job! I'm a huge fan!! Review: I loved this story as a sequel to "The Bride". Both books were wonderful. I hope Ms. Garwood has plans for another story about these families. I'd love to see a sequel about Brenna's sister Faith or one about Quinlan!
Rating: Summary: I LOVED THIS BOOK!! Review: I had never read a romance novel before picking up "The Wedding". I was caught up in not only the romance but the history of the story. I found that it pulled at my heart as well as made me laugh. I read this book in January 1999 and have since read all of Ms. Garwood's books. When I get them I fly through them and cannot put them down. I recently read "Ransom" and am waiting for the next.
Rating: Summary: This is the best romance book I've ever read. Review: Julie Garwood uses a mixture of historical setting and timeless emotions in her portrayal of this "sweep me off my feet" love story. It is worth every minute!
