Rating: Summary: Absolutely dire drivel Review: Sandra Brown's later books are really good - Albi, Hello Darkness, Crush, etc, but her earlier ones are absolute trash. They are totally unbelievable - In this case a 25 year virgin called Kathleen, who avoids male attention meets Erik, who uses the most crass come-on lines I've ever heard, but goes for a drive and has sex outdoors him, a man she has known for maybe 2 days and who shows all the finesse of a rutting stag. All this while she is working as a counselor at an orphans' camp. The whole story is preposterous and you feel like either shaking or punching most of the characters. In an exact copy of Sandra Brown's "A treasure worth seeking" (...)Kathleen becomes pregnant, but hides the fact from the father because she mistakenly thinks he is married. Instead of asking him she runs away.
Kathleen is absolutely pathetic but falls into a great job and goes on to marry the boss - Seth who is a handsome, young, rich paraplegic and although he's deeply in love with her, and she has grown to love him, they share no more than a chaste kiss during their marriage. This is absolutely insulting to people with disabilities, as if the loss of the use of one's legs means not having any kind of romantic or sexual relationship. How out of touch with the real world is Sandra Brown? Of course the moment Seth brings Erik back into Kathleen's life, not knowing of their previous relationship, Kathleen is ruled by her passion for Seth, a man she knew for less than a week. How ridiculous! The book is basically soft porn wrapped up in old-fashioned stereotypes and I couldn't even finish it.
This should never have been republished. Don't waste your money or time on this.
Rating: Summary: Californian romance reader said this about The Silken Web Review: The Silken Web is one of my favorites by Sandra Brown and I own almost every book she's ever written. Brown's work combines just the right amounts of decency and steam to form an overall piece that's not trashy, but that is ensured to make your temperature rise. Like to read on your lunchbreak? Rest assured, the covers of Brown's books do not consist of two lovers tearing each others clothes off! This book is about a love so spellbinding, your heart breaks a little along with those of the protagonists, and soars like a bird when love gets back on course. If you want a read to revive your faith in romance, this is your book. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: What Can I say? Unexceptional Love Triangle... Review: This is an oldy and thought it would be a goody considering Brown's work thus far, but I do have to remember, this was written in 1981 and seems to show the signs of it also. A very blah tale of a woman who is caught in a love triangle and in love with two men. The problem here IMO is the too quick romance between the woman and the first man and then how she cuts it off unexpectantly, then the reason for it doesn't wash with me. It left me quirking my brow in wonder that any average reader would be satisfied with that excuse. In all, the romance and love between the woman and the men are quick and flat and I felt there was no real love between any any of them. No depth and the first male character was sort of unlikeable to me.Shaken but not defeated, Kathleen hides her pain behind her work and resolves to get on with her life despite the heartbreak she suffered when her first and only love betrayed her. About to remarry now awhile later to a very sweet man who really loves her and heir to a fortune, Kathleen is shocked when her former love walks back into her neatly controlled life ready to play his game again. All are soon caught up in a web of lies and deceit that will tear them apart. Kathleen must make a choice between happiness and stability or one more try with the very man who nearly destroyed her. Rating: Summary: THE BEST!!!!! Review: This is and will always remain my favorite Sandra Brown novel. I absolutely could not put this book down. This book brought out so many inner emotions in me. I would cry so many tears on one page and then flip to the next to find myself laughing so hard that i cried again. Kathleen, Erik, and Seth...the whole loving triangle brought my heart to a whole new plateau of love. It was such a realistic story that i found myself sucked into it. It was the wierdest feeling, but i felt like i was in the story as a mere onlooker. There was times i even shouted advice to Kathleen. Sandra Brown writes such classic and beautiful love storys, but this one was different. This one was genuine and real and it kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next.
Rating: Summary: A Good Friend Review: This is my favorite Sandra Brown book. This is the perfect companion that you can come back to and read again and again. I have many times. Not normally one for love triangles, this story captured my heart from page one and never let go until the end. And when you are done you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that everything ends as it should, and turn back to page one and begin again. This book is fast paced and doesn't slow down as many books do. Pick up a copy of this one, and make sure you leave a home for it on your bookshelf. this is a keeper.

Rating: Summary: Read over 30 Sandra Brown Books... Review: This one was one of her shorter, sweeter, yet predictable books where the two protagonists meet at a summer camp, fall in love and live happily ever after. Although it was predictable, you cannot resist the tension between the two, as well as the realist dialogue and setting. This book is highly recommended. In fact, I read it twice!
